So as you've no doubt gathered, Agent  told me about this roleplay, and I have to say it sounds great! It's original (uh, to my limited knowledge of RPs XD) and reminds me of Mystery on the Orient Express (yay Poirot!). Thanks for putting me on reserve until I could get on my laptop! ^.^

 

So, I'll be applying with Feather Quill:  http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/feather-quill-r3163 because I feel she would be best suited for a roleplay like this (Arrow would get too frustrated and lose focus, Cap would try and blast through the puzzles and make everypony else want to jump off the train XD) and I feel she's been neglected for a while...

Currently, Feather Quill has only recently left school and moved to Ponyville, working as a shop assistant in - and staying in a room above - a local book shop (though she had originally hoped to get a reporting job in Ponyville, the bookshop was the best she could get) while she works up a few bits (and enough courage!) so she can travel and find inspiration for her writing. It's not what she'd intended, but she's comfortable enough for now.

Fun facts: while I do like Mystery on the Orient Express (I read it when I was five and loved it), this is actually loosely based on a...hem...a Nancy Drew game called "Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon". Because I unabashedly (ish) play them.

Anyway, can't wait for this to start, however I would have to ask about the teams...will we be presented with them before we start the RP, a preassigned team that we "meet by chance" on the train? Or will we be assigned in the RP? Or maybe we just derp it out?

I am using a random generator to make it fair. I have to go get food now because my parents like forcing me to eat, but after that I shall be on and starting it up.

Have we decided on whether this would be an advanced roleplay or not? I wouldn't mind it being advanced. It'll make me broaden my horizons because it'll be the first advanced roleplay I try.

I'd quite like an advanced RP, but the 800 character limit scares people away. It'd make for a nice slow paced RP with detailed posts, but for shorter posts it's a problem - i'm happy with either decision.

If we're going advanced, I'm using at least two characters. Of course, at this point I'm probably using Cloak and Dagger, and it's debatable whether they count as one character or two. I guess I'll use them separately for this. In fact, I'm definitely using them. So there you go. Characters decided.

Well, guys, I've decided not to make it an Advanced, because there will be certain points in the RP where it will be too much writing (i.e. solving puzzles). In addition, I have constraints on time because Leaaaaague I'm a very busy person and I shan't be able to keep up.

 

HOWEVER. I encourage (and really, require) at least 600 characters per post, and don't spam post; many of us are not going to be able to be constantly active.

 

Sorry, but I just don't think that it will work, as much fun as Advanced RP's are. I will likely regret this later but it's more sensible. 

 

This post is about 500 characters to give you an idea of the length required.

Fine by me, I need to get back into detailed, interesting posting anyway, and Unlikely Guardians is a good practice for that, hopefully this will be too. 

Anyway, does this mean the RP will be starting soon? Because it's 2am here and I should be headed to bed like...well ideally 3 hours ago. I'm actually going like, now but...yeah.

I've just realised, there's too much coincidence in this RP xD 

North seems to be standing on a mountain with a small village nearby, that was my original draft for Frostbite's initial post, and his birthday is 21st December, which happens to also be mine  

 

As well as Repsol's mention of SugarCube Corner which is where Dusk works and Frostbite is staying...

I hope you don't mind me adding Chemm into the scene. She won't go on the train ride, but she'll be back in Manehattan reflecting on her feelings for Erlen. It's a way for me to develop their backstories because I planned to have them dating and married in the years after this RP.
