Weird Charms?

Faulty Roze

Recommended Posts

I was wondering If I'm not the only person who does this.

Does any body here carry some sort of charm with them? Something you believe will help you thought life if you kept it close to you.

Mine is a small brass coin with a hole in the centre.

Edit: Weird can be used as loosely as you like :)

Mine are my dogtags that I ordered from the internet. I believe that if I wish really hard and have an accident away from home. My dogtags will save trouble by having my name, social security number, and and blood type. Even though my social security number is missing a digit

It's not really a charm, but I've carried 2 pressed coins I got from Disney land Florida in my wallet for around 10 years now. They're a reminder of some of the happiest moments of my life.

No, but I want one. Not because I think it'll be lucky or spiritual in any way, but because I think it'd be neat to carry around something that has meaning to me.

I have a dolphin necklace in the shape of a crescent that I always wear around when I'm diving or near water. The only time I've drowned, and the one time my O-ring blew, were both when I was without that necklace, so I never go without. I believe it protects me in the water. The end also ends in a tooth(not a real one, carved one) that has a sharp point, so it does double as a weapon if needed, however tiny.

I carry a Hamsa, or called the Hand of Fatima or the Hand of Mary or the Hand of Miriam around with me in my bag.  It supposedly wards off the "evil eye," I just carry it around for good luck.

The "evil-eye"? That sounds.... Evil... Would you care to Explain what it is? I tired googling it, but i only found it to be some sort of Turkish talisman.

Three charms/pendants on my necklace, and never took it off. Two stars and a five-petaled flower.

I don't think they're really considered 'weird' though. Dx

The word "weird" in this thread can be used very loosely. The fact that use never took it off can be used to fuel the "weird" factor :D Hahah. I better add that in Original post for other ponies to see.

This one isn't that weird but I used to have this little amethyst stone I always carried with me. And I appear to have misplaced it :(  I also have a d20 (which I suppose it a little weird?), for luck. Rolled 3 critical hits in a row with that baby B)

I used to carry around a Calvin and Hobbes comic around in my wallet. This one, to be specific.

"Barrel rolls" are a sort of inside joke that centers around me. It would make a lot more sense if you knew what it meant.  ;)

Recently, I've been carrying around a pen that looks like a syringe. Not for luck or anything, I just find it an awesome concept. Not to mention I like seeing the looks on people's faces when I "inject" myself with it.

Indeed.

It doesn't necessarily seem like a charm to most people, but I never go anywhere without my headphones.

Seriously, I left home for three days without them, nothing went right those three days. I am never leaving home without them again!

You must have looked up the Evil Eye instead of the Hamsa.  The Hamsa is something that is used as a sign of protection and reflects the "evil eye."  The evil eye itself is something that supposedly can cause injury, bad luck or envy.

However, I'm not all that familiar with this type of subject...

I used to have a US two-dollar bill that my mum gave me that I always kept in my wallet for luck. I say "used to" because one day I accidentally drove onto a toll road and had no change, and was forced to pay with it. I've regretted that ever since.

I also used to always wear a Japanese flag lapel pin every day. I don't wear it as much any more as my job doesn't allow me to, but I've instead been wearing a chain (given to me by my father and so it means a lot to me) with a dogtag-like pendant of a Japan flag.

Most will assume that it's because I must be an anime fanboy or a weeaboo or summat, but it's actually nothing like that. There's a deeper meaning to it for me that represents and reminds me of something that was very personal and dear to me (which I won't bore anyone with the details) and so that's why I wear it.
