So, fellow recruits. You have made the big decision to enlist and serve the Equestrian Empire Armed Forces. By doing so, you have also decided to serve and defend our country from outer forces. There will be challenges, and you must have the will to overcome them. We will train you here, at Fort Windstill, so all of you will turn into fully fledged soldiers ready to defend our homeland.

Rules:

Greetings. As of now, all of you are now officially members of the Equestrian Empire Armed Forces. But, before we proceed, we must first discuss the rules.

1. I am the GM in the roleplay, so I would see what is acceptable and what is not.

2. No NSFW, people. Romance is allowed but keep it "safe"

3. Killing another pony is not allowed. This is meant to be a "Slice of Life" military RP, so keep it that way.

4. Link to your application if you want to join this RP. Don't worry; there is no limit to how much people can join, and you can join at any time. If your OC is not in the military force, your starting rank is Private Second Class. Refer to the "Rank List" if you are unsure of the rank order. If your OC is in the military force, I'll choose which rank you are in, depending on how long he or she served in the military.

5. Don't try to cause any drama or mess up the whole roleplay. It's meant to be casual, and like I said, it's a "Slice of Life" RP.

6. Mary Sue OCs, god-modding, and power-gaming is not allowed.

7. There is no limit to how many OCs you have, but if one of your OCs are inactive for more than two weeks, it is out of the RP.

8. If you are inactive for more than a week then your OCs would be out of the RP until you return. People are authorized to control them temporarily if they were originally interacting with the inactive member's OC.

9. The technology in this RP is in the "Inter-war" period compared to Earth. Firearms are allowed, but must stay within the technology range. (Rocket launchers, fully-automatic carbines and rifles, assault rifles are out of the technology range and is not allowed. Flamethrowers, though within the technological range, is also not allowed.) Firearms can be named off real life firearms of that time, or made up firearms can be created.

Rank List:

The general rank order is for the Equestrian Army. The Royal Guard is a branch of the Equestrian Army and uses a completely different rank order. They are written separately to avoid confusion.

Equestrian Army:

Private 2nd Class: Lowest military rank, generally given to ponies who has completed Basic Training; no insignia.

Private 1st Class: Ponies are generally promoted to this rank after servicing for few months in the Equestrian Army, or completing the Advanced Training for recruits. Recently established to replace the rank of "lance corporal". The rank insignia is one straight line.

Corporal: Lowest ranked non-commissioned officer. The rank insignia is two lines.

Sergeant: Second lowest ranked NCO. The rank insignia is three lines.

Staff Sergeant: Recent established rank. The rank insignia is three lines with one chevron (bend) on top.

Warrant Officer Class 2: Senior NCO rank. The rank insignia is three lines with two chevrons on top.

Warrant Officer Class 1: Highest NCO rank. The rank insignia is three lines with three chevrons on top.

Second Lieutenant: Lowest ranked officer. The rank insignia is a diamond. Usually the rank obtained if given a commission or graduated from Equestrian Officer Training Academy. Commands a platoon.

Lieutenant: Second lowest ranked officer. The rank insignia is two diamonds. Not be confused with the Royal Guard rank of Lieutenant, which is equivalent to the army rank of Major. Commands a large numbered platoon or second in command to a company.

Captain: Ranked officer. The rank insignia is three diamonds. Not be confused with the Royal Guard rank of Captain, which is equivalent to the rank of Major General. Commands a company.

Major: Ranked officer, and the lowest field officer rank. The rank insignia is a diamond with a sword below. Commands a large numbered company or second in command to a battalion.

Lieutenant Colonel: Senior ranked officer. The rank insignia is two diamonds with a sword below. Commands a battalion.

Colonel: Senior ranked officer. The rank insignia is three diamonds with a sword below. Commands a regiment.

Brigadier General: Lowest ranked general officer. The rank insignia is one golden star. Commands a brigade, or second in command to a division.

((The ranks below this line will not be used.))

----------------------------------

Major General: General officer. The rank insignia is two golden stars. Commands a division.

Colonel General: General officer. The rank insignia is three golden stars. Commands a corps.

General: Highest general officer rank. The rank insignia is four golden stars. Commands a field army.

Field Marshal: The highest rank possible in the Equestrian Army. The rank insignia is five golden stars. This rank has been inactive for at least a hundred years, and is only used when the country is in a state of war. Commands multiple armies.

Royal Guard:

Private

Corporal

Sergeant

Sergeant Major: Equivalent to Warrant Officer Class 1.

Ensign: Equivalent to Lieutenant.

Sub-lieutenant: Equivalent to Captain.

Lieutenant: Equivalent to Major.

Vice commander: Equivalent to Colonel.

Commander: Equivalent to Brigadier General.

Captain: Equivalent to Major General.

Vice Admiral: Equivalent to Colonel General.

Admiral: Equivalent to General.

Terms:

Platoon: Though platoons mostly range from 25 to 60, the usual number of ponies in a platoon is 36, formed of three 10-pony rifle squads, a lieutenant or second lieutenant, a second in command NCO, two medics, and two radioponies. In every squad there is one or two machine gunners and/or one or two sharpshooters.

Company: Companies mostly have 90 to 200 ponies. They are usually organized to have four or five platoons total, with a captain or major in command and a warrant officer, second lieutenant, or lieutenant second in command.

Battalion: Battalions mostly have 500 to 1,300 ponies. They are usually organized to have six to ten companies, with a lieutenant colonel in command and a major or captain as a second in command.

Regiment: Regiments mostly have 2,000 to 3,500 ponies. They are usually organized to have two or three battalions, with a colonel in command. Usually they are infantry regiments, cavalry regiments (cavalry soldiers are armored ponies who normally charge into combat), and artillery regiments. There are, however, rare cases where there are sharpshooter regiments and "elite" regiments- regiments composed of highly ranked NCOs and junior officers.

Brigade: Larger "regiments" of 3,500 to 6,000 ponies. They are typically organized of four to six battalions, and is commanded by a brigadier general.

Division: Divisions mostly have 10,000 to 15,000 ponies. They are composed of multiple regiments and/or brigades. They are also the smallest unit to operate independently; a division is commanded by a major general.

Basic Training: Also known as "boot camp", this is where recruits first start when they enlist. They are trained and tested from things such as marching, ethical values, and gun handling to hoof-to-hoof combat, gun shooting, and bayoneting. In the end, instructors will examine and rate recruits, and create stimulated field combat and survival exercises. This normally lasts anywhere from ten to twenty weeks, though mostly twelve.

Advanced Training: As the name says, this is training for ponies who have passed basic training to further improve specific skills. This can range anywhere from half a month to nearly a year.

Equestrian Officer Training Academy: A term used "irregular" schools allowing ponies to be commissioned into an officer, almost always second lieutenant. Though a pony can be commissioned by graduating from a military school or in very rare cases, battlefield promoted, alternatively they can enter the EOTA. Ponies who have graduated from university and completed Basic Training and ponies who are nominated for the EOTA enter a 30 week course to evaluate officer cadets on specialized fields.

Character List:

Other Notes:

  • This RP is open world; roleplay anywhere you want in Equestria, though most of them would be focused on forts, camps, or other military structures.
  • I don't recommend you play underage guards or soldiers, unless you have a very good reason why. It's near impossible for an underage person in real life to enlist in the Armed Forces, even in the 20th century. Those who did were usually discharged within the first few months.
  • UPDATE: Not only do you get free cookies, you get free coffee.

Oh God, you have no idea how this rp fits with my OC. This is nearly perfect for her.

She's part of the Special Operations Division in the army, which is slightly off of the main military. Like the royal guard but different to them.

But for Rack she would be Colonel.

I will have her link in like ten seconds.

My best guess is that it's Fire Sharp, since what you're saying is strikingly similar to her backstory. Am I correct?
