What begins and ends with an "E" and only has one letter in it?

No cheating, I'll check back in a bit and see if anypony gets it.

And here I thought it was eye. As in I. But envelope makes a lot more sense.

The trick in this riddle is "letter" as you'd probably think about it as: a, b, c, d, etc...... :P Edited by ProjectRKA

The word "full" can never be the word "empty" and will always be the word "full" so... the word "full"?

I'm also inclined to say everything. Everything will always be full of something, be it antimatter or air if not something else.

Replying to Pencils:

Well, technically nothing can be empty here on Earth, as air is almost everywhere, and water or other matter is everywhere it isn't. I dunno if 'Everything' is the answer, but that's my guess.

Also, here's a riddle:

'You can see me,

But you cannot touch me.

I make things lighter

But not always brighter.

What am I?'

The letter one is the oldest thing in existence.

Try this one:

The buyer doesn't want it.

The maker doesn't need it.

The user doesn't know they're using it.

What is the object?

A hole.

Light. You make this lighter in color but not brighter in intelligence.

BizarrePony is right. It could be light, I suppose, but you kinda missed the words' meanings. We'll call that a close one, bit it's not the official answer.

Words can mean a lot of things. Riddles have a lot of answers because of that. I just looked at the words and changed the usual definition to be something else they can be. It's my specialty I'd say; the ability to look at something in many ways.
