Who is the best developer to replace Hasbro?

So are you serious in trying to actually have another company take over MLP, or is this just a hypothetical, "what if" scenario?  Make up your mind!

At any rate, Hasbro is a company with a net worth of 1.39 BILLION dollars.  I think they could afford a few copyright lawsuits if they were so inclined.  The value of MLP is, at the lowest estimates, a hundred million, probably more.  And it's going to take a lot more than that for Hasbro to part ways with it, since it's quite profitable.

So.. where's this money going to come from?  $100 million plus isn't exactly pocket change, for *any* corporation.  What's the plan here?  And... what's the precedent?  When has one company bought the rights to a major franchise like this unless the other company was going bankrupt or something and needed to liquify its assets?  It would be like DC selling the rights to Batman over to Marvel.

You said that "a few", how absurd!

A few lawsuits are not enough to take down all the illegal videos on YouTube (not even mentioning the entire internet), like you said that they are not inclined so why did they take many videos down on YouTube before?

If they are really inclined to do it, they should have continued to take down but they unfortunately don't have enough funds to continue their operation against pirates because they have to use their money elsewhere. I definitely know that you will say " they willing to stop it because they respect their fans". Those poisonous words of Hasbro mean nothing, they should focus on improving the quality of the show rather than dumbing down the show to sell toys. Toys are easily forgotten and fagile, it is not everlasting like a legacy of a cartoon or a video game.

I know you are in the voice of rage to protect the honor of Hasbro but i think you are protecting for a wrong person who doesn't truly care about you. Reality can be shifted if you do believed in it, friendship means nothing without faith and hope.

Cease and Desist letters don't cost all that much.  Companies send them out all the time.  And companies don't need to sue EVERYONE to send out the message that they're going after you.  Look at the RIAA for instance.

I'm not "protecting the honor of Hasbro", in fact I think that the show has taken a dip in quality in season 3.  What I am protecting, however, is the idea of SANITY.  "Reality can be shifted if you believe in it".  Bullshit.  I'm not going to get the strength to bench press a Big Rig no matter how much I "believe" in it.

Reality can be shifted *if* you have a sensible plan that has one iota of a chance of working.  So let's hear it.  What's your brilliant plan to buy the franchise rights of MLP away from Hasbro?

Did you read my post with a part called "I will my final hope for S4"? I hope you did because my hope for Hasbro is going to fix up MLP is about 49%.  I am still having some of my final faith for Hasbro; I still believe that MLP will be better in S4 but Benjamin Franklin said : "Don't believe in everything you see but to give the half of that believe to it".

Although i am still hoping for S4 but i am still doubt about it. That why i came up with this thread to find out how many people who have disagreements with Hasbro.

I know you see that my idea of replacing Hasbro with the different developer seeming dumb, not true and beyond comprehension. But my point of this thread is to ask my fellow bronies and pegasisters about their ideas who is able to replace Hasbro, i want to see their different points of view to study (how they will react).

I want to test the hypothesis of "Reality warping by believing", i know you will disapprove this but why don't you take a deep breath and imagine something is unreal and dumb like me? When you do it, you will know what i mean.

Objection!

I'm sorry sir, but what you have said in reply yo me, is practically all false. Its not that they can't enforce copyright, its that they don't want to be entirely strict. At least when it comes to Youtube. Do you wanna know why? Cuz they are smart. Sorta. They realized that if they were to take down much of the pony content on Youtube it would actually hurt them more since they would be losing many fans. Us. Bronies. Yeah they know about us, and they love us. Since we give theme our money's. They realized they shouldn't really waste time trying to take down our videos because 1) they know we won't stop uploading and making videos an that there are so many of us and 2) They would lose more viewers in the long run. The only time they do take down videos is when new episodes come out and they only take down the new episodes so people would watch it on T.V. After the episode has been out for a while it doesn't seem like they care super much. At least that what it seems like. I'm sure they still do take down other episodes but like I said a lot of them don't see it as priority.

Also, whoever said Hasbro was ruining this fandom? They haven't done too much harm. They just aren't as popular among us  for obvious reasons. But they aren't killing this fandom. if anything they are letting it grow. Hell the only decisions they made regarding the show were the Wedding episodes and Equestria Girls. And don't say Twilicorn, Lauren was gonna do that anyway. The Season 2 finale was very good and didn't hurt us at all, Equestria Girls was controversial and some people didn't like (I liked it by the way) But it did not hurt the fandom at all, it just made us quarrel a bit. Big whoop. And according to the shows creators it should have no affect on the show.

This fandom isn't slowly going to die by Hasbro nor should some other company take the rights of the show. Hasbro would never let go of it anyway.

I believe that a million dollars is going to plop right into my lap right now!

...Yeah, didn't happen.

You don't make change by "believing".  You make change by *doing*.  It's sensible action that makes change, not nice thoughts.

Your whole long-wided arguments against me seeming to be ruined by your simplest mistake "seances".

You see that my argument doesn't make "seances" because it makes senses.

I am theorizing that about the idea of the best developer in an alternate timeline to replace Hasbro; don't you get it?

I don't think you even read all my posts, the whole point of this thread is theorizing with a word called "IF MLP is felt from grace, who would be the best developer for it except Hasbro?" even " IF That well-deserved studio doesn't want MLP, so who exactly will perfect MLP except Hasbro?"

Now the topic is based on the different dimension theory?

When I first read this topic and some of your other post, you made it seem like Hasbro should not own MLP anymore and it should go to some other company. And that we need to find a company to buy it from Hasbro. If that was the point of the topic, make sure that question is there on the first post. Cause to what it seems everyone up tell now has been thinking that.

All of the participants of this thread, you have turned this thread into complete chaos!!

Why would I care, one way or the other? Valve's not a media production company, or have deals with a broadcasting company. So they'd have to turn it over to a broadcaster the way Hasbro turned MLP over to Discovery Communication (the actual owners of the Hub) and hire an animation studio (like the Hub hiring DHX).

The new studio will likely spin up a completely new series based on MLP as they won't be able to get any of the DHX assets. So we'll be dealing with new voice actors, new writers, new musicians, new artists, new art and production style entirely. Probably a 3D knock off studio like Berlin Animation Film (Happily N'Ever After 2, for example), as whoever gets MLP won't have enough money left after the buy out to get anyone actually competent. And because they're not a toy producer or normally a licensing company there won't be any income other than the show itself, which won't start to show profit until about a year in, if it's any good. So they'd have to get really hard on copyright infringements, or they risk getting no profits at all.

Probably have to shift the target demographic all the way down to Toddlers, just to sell the series to a broadcasting company. There's only four or five networks that deal with kid's shows now, and you won't be able to use Discovery's broadcasting networks like the Hub anymore, because you basically took their cash-cow away. That leaves Viacom, Turner Broadcasting, and Disney. Disney won't touch you unless they own you. Turner means having MLP on the Fox networks.... yeah, right. And Viacom means Nickelodeon.

No, to be honest, the most likely scenario would be for Mattel to buy MLP, just to shut the franchise down entirely. That's Mattel's MO. They do that kind of thing on a regular basis.

I don't really get it why people suggested that video game companies buy MLP from Hasbro. Video game companies.

The most Valve is really doing with TV is Big Picture Mode and a 15-minute TF2 TV spot. Otherwise, they have no dealings with TV shows.

So I read your post, and all I have for a response are two questions. "Why do we care about a developer replacing Hasbro?" and "What the hell does MLP need to be saved from?".

I'm glad I'm not the only person wondering that. We're really overreacting here. And Hasbro is a toy/entertainment company, not a 'developer'. It's not a game series.

If anyone was going to take over for Hasbro I would choose Pixar, but really I have no problem with Hasbro making their toys, except when they have a preconceived toy in mind and shoehorn it into the program a la Twilicorn. If they keep doing that, then I'll be pissed enough to talk about another company replacing them.

Huh? "First phase of study"? Excuse me? Are you Actually looking for a company to replace Hasbro? I thought this was hypothetical.

First off, Hasbro shouldn't lose rights to the show. Yes they care more about the toys and making money but honestly, they are a Toy company, and they want to make money. Its called business and competition. The only reason they created The Hub was so they can make shows based on their toylines so they can SELL MORE TOYS. It was actually pretty smart. But that does mean they don't care about the show. They do. Just because they care about selling toys it shouldn't affect the show too much. I highly doubt Season 4 is all gonna be about stuff to sell toys. No. Hasbro doesn't make the show. They only thing they will do to affect the quality of the show is everyone and a while go "Hey we have an idea for the show, try and see if you can work with it."

If you think Hasbro is responsible for the quality of Equestria Girls or any part of the show you are wrong. Megan McCarthy wrote it. Along with all the other show staff doing there part to make it. All Hasbro did was pitch the idea and go "Make it work" and make it work she did. It wasn't terrible. If anything EQG is just another love-hate episode like the Mare-do-Well episode and the Owlicious episode. If you think replacing Hasbro will make the show better you are even more wrong. It will just make things worse for the show and Fandom.
