Rain realized what she'd done and stepped back in horror. "Oh no," she cried out, horrified, realizing her argument had caused this. "Oh, this is all my fault!" and with that she collapsed on the ground, sobbing.

Why even try anymore? What is there to gain from this life?

Twister stood from the rest of the crowd, just hoplessley standing there. He then went to Rain.

"Thats not true! We can still make it.... Right?" Twister looked very concerned himself.

Boots turns and stares at Shadow.

 

"You...just....just stop okay. There not worth the effort and you know it. There are much bigger fish to fry"

Rain looked at Twister. Her eyes were puffy with tears. She just slowly shook her head.

Ten hit the ground and skidded, then lay still. He sobbed quielty to himself. The voices of the colts at flight school filled his head,"Weak little foal! He cant even get an inch off the clouds! Get up! I think he makes a pretty good punching bag!" <I am weak...> He thought as he continued to cry into the dirt.

"Riza was laying on her sleeping bag, she was sobbing, upset that they were all arguing.*

"ahahahah WORTH THE EFFORT! WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? FRIENDSHIP TO ME IS A SIGN OF DEPENDANCE ON OTHERS! DEPENDANCE IS A FORM OF WEAKNESS! I. AM. NOT. WEAK! he yelled.

Rain saw Ten crash to the ground nearby. She extended a hoof to him.

"It was great, you know," she smiled faintly. "Meeting you all...going on this adventure..."

She looked at Shadow and shook her head. "That's where you're wrong," she smiled. "That's why you're so unstable. Because you won't accept help from other ponies."

She extended a hoof to him. "If this is the end of our journey," she said simply, "I'd like to leave a friend rather than an enemy."

"I really hoped I woudnt need to use this"

The voice was not heared but felt. It was a cold lifeless force.

Rain stood up shakily and walked over to Shadow. "You want this to end?" she whispered to him. "Then take my hoof." She stuck it out for him.

"Friendship is Discord's true weakness," she said. "If we continue like this, he's going to win. And do you want your enemy to defeat you? Of course not."

She looked at him. "Friends are a sign of strength. If you can't accept this you'll never win."

The fog diss speared and there was a sign in the middle of the camp

Power Ten tried to get up, but he couldn't. One of his legs was broken and so were a few of his ribs. He just tilted his head towards Shadow. "I'm sorry" he coughed.

Twister looked up, and noticed the sign.

"Wh-what? The fog is gone? ......And a sign is here?"

[Mephala 2,633]

Rain withdrew her hoof. She just looked sad and nodded.

"Maybe on day you'll learn," she said. The fog disappeared. Glancing at him, she half smiled.

"Looks like you have a lot to learn about us mortal ponies, too."

And with that, she headed towards Ten, calling for Riza. "Hey Twister!" she called. "Check out the sign, will ya?"

I need to be strong for my friends, she thought. I need to show Shadow this is the only way.

I know you're listening.
