The Grand Archway of Equestia

I consider the four pony races to form an archway as follows:

 

Earth Ponies form the foundation of Equestria without which it would have never gotten off the ground.

 

Pegasi form the rising pillars of Equestria, creating stability in sky and allowing it to rise above challenges.

 

Unicorns form the curving arches of Equestria, using their magic and pursuit of knowledge to farther allow the land to move beyond what otherwise could.

 

Alicorns form the keystone that allows Equestia to stand without falling in on itself, representing the unity between the other three races.

 

No single race of pony is any less important than the others, all are required to allow Equestia to stand as it does. If you remove a single piece the whole falls apart, whether it is the foundations, the pillars, the curving arches, or the keystone. Remove a single piece and the land of Equestria would fall... either to ruin, conflict, division, or chaos.

Actually, if you took the others away, the foundation would still stand...+

 

Anyway, I don't like the idea of putting one species above the others (even if its not meant to signify superiority), so I prefer either a circle or simply three ponies standing together (a farmer, a scholar and a warrior would make nice archetypes).

I wouldn't really include alicorns, since it has been established that Equestria has existed for quite some time without alicorns.

Yes the foundation could exist and funtion without the rest of the archway. Yet it would not go anywhere, it would not becoming anything more than it is, just a foundation... unfinished and incomplete.

The archway can be a doorway and it is not supposed to be that anyone being more significant or important than the other. Each of the races are equally needed, and it shows importance of why they need to work together to create beauty and stand strong.

Statues of a farmer, a scholar and a warrior would not work as not of all the ponies of Equestria identifies as one of the three. That and I do not believe one can put aside Celestia and Luna, as why the ponies of a question did exist before the princesses I do not believe the society truly grewed, expanded, and rose off the ground fully without them.

Actually I've seen a fan setting that shows my idea in work.

Equestria Divided, the royal sisters up and disappear. Through the removal of the keystone society falls apart, breaking up in the six factions, the Houses and the Cult.

Worse, the former bearers of the Elements of Harmony are leading the five Houses with Pinkie Pie seemingly dead.

Remove the keystone the archway falls in on itself.
