Why I really feel they designed Celestial as a deity.

It's not what I saw, on the show but what we don't see.

Last night I saw a fan animated strip (which I haven't been able to find again yet, which sucks cause it was awesome)

 

where it's right after a canterlot wedding and Celestial confides in twilight sparkle all her doubts.
Her in ability to protect everyone,

losing the elements of harmoney and not being able to stop discord,

feeling awful for banishing her sister,

 

and breaking down.  (right before twilight assures her it's alright

FOUND IT 

 

And you know what?
They would never show that.

 

Do you really think they could not?  Cause it shows her having human (or if you wanna be a wise ass she's a pony) a mortal aspect.

 

All powerful deity's don't show doubt.  They don't become over whelmed in grief, or at the very least they don't coup to it. 

(kinda of a shame really).

I mean if Celestial was in fact just a immortal queen of equistra, how come we never hear "wow I really screwed up this time."

 

It's a show based on learning lessons.  Showing Celestial's doubt would give her depth.  I'm sure you could simply say "well she's under developed."

It shows that even Celestia doubts herself in showing as an example to ponies, on how to be all powerful and at the same time teach her students on how to overcome all obstacles. We all thought that she was  immortal, until we saw her fight with Chrysalis (a bad example in my opinion.)

getting her butt kicked doesn't mean she's not immortal. 

It just means shes not battle ready.

I've often suggested a unicorn mini maxed in combat magic and trained for 10 hard years would whip Celestia's ass in a straight up duel.
