writing The Poet's Eyes are Melancholy Lights

Ferret Girl

Recommended Posts

We live each and every day under a veil of colored lights

These Emerald and Amber spectacles are the very basis of our reasoning

Our hope and truth that we look to in all circumstances

These keep us alive and joyous when all else fails

A poet is not wise

A poet is not intelligent

Ever more so, a poet is merely an observer

One who beholds these shimmering lights

These, Emerald and Amber stars

A poet sees them for what they are

A poet looks beyond the veil that holds them

And this is the reason why they write

To find one’s self faced with a morbid sense of reality like that of no other

Such is the poet’s way, and not to be questioned

And with such a mind, is it no wonder why their words are sharp and their verses broad?

Every poem, a testament to the inglorious vision they endure

A marvelous pain, like no mortal wound

A permanent stain upon one’s very soul

I do not claim perfection, purity, grace, or honor

Yet I do not accept myself as a fool

What I know is not of common understanding

And for it, as a poet, I walk this hurtful path

A very accurate poem. More proof that good poetry need not rhyme, also.

Definitely one of the best pieces I have read for a long time.

One does not ask why The Questioner is awesome. One should instead ask their gods if they ever compare to the awesomeness of the one and only Questioner.
