"I'll do my best, Rainbow Boom. I don't wanna let anypony down." Dusty said, "I just have a fear of performing by myself."

Damn, this guy has a temper. I'll have to be careful in the future not to set him off. I guess I'll have to get on his good side.

Emerald had already finished her paper, at the hottom of it she at written in beautiful cursive -do not share with class- suddenlly she felt a hoof thump against her back, right against her bruise. Emerald turned around and smiled at the pony. "Oh, that. We are just supposed to write about our Summer; I'm Emerald by the way."

 

Emerald turned to Pink Mist, and waved to her shyly. She was terrible at making friends, so it had surprised her that she had gained one today.

Pink Mist turned and noticed that a mare was waving at her. She waved back with a smile.

 

Hey there. Name's Pink Mist, what's your name?

 

This is great. I'll probably make a new friend by the end of class. So far this day is going really well. Well except for arrving to class late. Hehe

Emerald read over her own paper, hoping it was good enough. 'I spent most of my summer begging heartless ponies for food, and would just walk by me without a glance. Also, I got a huge bruise on my back from one of the neighborhood bullies hitting me way to hard. I also got this scholership for school, to this standpoint I am really nervous about it because what if people ask where I live? Or who my family is? My summer was nothing special, in fact it was something I hated. -Please donnot read to class-' Emerald felt a soft poke on her shoulder. She turned her head and saw Orion sitting nearby. "Oh...um, hi my name's Emerald. N-nice to meet you Orion."

Emerald smiled at Pink Mist and whispered; "H-hi my name is Emerald. N-nice to meet y-you."

She turned her head and saw Orion sitting nearby. "Oh...um, hi my name's Emerald. N-nice to meet you Orion."

 

Orion gave a soft reassuring smile, hoping it would let the shy pony know that there's no need to be nervous. "Um...glad to see I'm not the only shy pony here." Orion said, giving a little laugh. "Um...so how are you enjoying your time at school so far today?" 

 

Orion looked over at who so happened to be Pink Mist. Well isn't this funny?

 

Orion gave another little laugh at the coincidence taking place here.

"Uhh, yeah I'm from Cloudsdale, I currently live in the Ponyville Orphanage..." Dusty trailed off with a far away look in his eye.

Should I tell these guys about my past? Will it change how they think of me? Maybe I should just wait till they get to know me better Dusty thought to himself

"No." Nova replied bluntly. "I don't have any aspirations to join the flying team anytime soon. Thanks for asking, though."

"Bah you don't seem like a strong flyer anyways and I've never heard of you. So where are you from Nova."

Pink noticed that the pony seemed very shy cause of how she talked and acted.

She also noticed that Emerald was talking to another pony behind her. IT WAS ORION.

Well I guess I'm not the only pony here trying to make some more friends.  

 

Orion gave a little smile and looked back towards the clock. It seemed like the class had less than 10 minutes left till passing period.

 

Um...hey Pink, funny talking to you again. I think I have History next. Is that your next class too?"

Nova rolled his eyes at the orange colt's ignorant response. "Very well, I know I'm not a strong flyer, don't need anypony to tell me that. No, you wouldn't have heard of me, I'm not from anyplace nearby. I used to live west of the Everfree Forrest, in a place nopony around here would know about."

"Hold on Dusty, look Nova i don't know what you were doing living in the everfree forest or what your doing here now but at this school everyone knows who i am. Since I've been named captain of the Wondercolt's flying team we've gone undefeated. Show me a little respect and don't roll your eyes at me."

"Well history has always been a great subject for me. The wars, eras, and all the famous ponies... learning about all that kind of stuff just seems so fascinating to me!"

 

"Hehe...yeah. Well look at that, only five more minutes left." Orion said as he looked at the clock with much relief.

Game smiled as he watched his friend fly. He seamed so happy, and Game loved to make everypony fell that way. He then came up with a devilish plan. He trotted up to the track and yelled up to Splinter.

 

"Hey Splinter, you wanna have a little race?!"  Game yelled with a cocky tone in his voice.

"But yeah, the history of Equestria really is amazing. I really look forward to learning about the great ponies, like Starswirl the Bearded. Plus it's great to see how far we've come from living in such rough and primitive times." 

 

"And I know how you feel. To be honest, once school ends, I'm not really sure where I'll be going..." Orion said with some uncertainty.

 

Ah buck. I think I've might of said a bit too much there...

Game smiled with a competitive look and read up his flank. He dug his front hoofs into the ground and looked at Splinter ready to give him the signal. 

 

"Ready..." Game said looking back to the track

 

"Set..... GO!"

 

With that splinter was off, dashing and coming close to being around the first turn. Game smiled and called to his magic, it seeped down into his legs and gave him a power boost. With that Game darted and was around the track three times before Splinter was even half way done with his first lap. Game smiled with his eyes closed and put one of his fore legs in front of the other.

You flight team captains are all the same, and just because you can talk yourself up a bunch doesn't mean I'll respect you anymore than anypony else here." Nova said with a stoic expression on his face. He wasn't going to let this colt get to him, he had been down this road before.
