Mywas 687 November 9, 2013 Share November 9, 2013 Just something I had in mind. do you think that Princess Celestia is somehow Sexist torward stallions? Here are some proofs: 1) her two students we know so fat are both females 2)All of the royal gaurds are males for some reason 3) She seems to treat the other princesses as equal, But not the same to Shining Armor and Blueblood but those reasons aren't enough for us to know for sure. for all we know she might treat both mares and stallions equally but at the same time she might not. I think I have to see more of her to put my opinion on this. Credits to Mint Drop for an awesome Sig.

So naturally it will focus on female characters... Most girls in the age group would lose interest if the male characters were more prominent... it's the age old playground argument... Boy power vs. girl power... I think since the show was originally aimed at little girls... it was all for girl power... 2 .
Legacy Dash 439 November 9, 2013 Share November 9, 2013 1) her two students we know so fat are both females 2)All of the royal gaurds are males for some reason 3) She seems to treat the other princesses as equal, But not the same to Shining Armor and Blueblood but those reasons aren't enough for us to know for sure. for all we know she might treat both mares and stallions equally but at the same time she might not. I don't think she is, this is my counter-whatever... For some reason only females are interested in magic itself in MLP (well - it seems that way to me). Usually males would want to be guards, I don't think mares would be very interested in guarding. That is true I suppose. I agree with you there. I don't think that Celestia is sexist, and even if it appears to be that way, I don't think it is intentional. Signature by . My personal website: Mitchfizz05.net. Freewave 1,145 November 9, 2013 Share November 9, 2013 This is a show designed for a young female audience and like those shows it's female character heavy. It's never easy to find a show that balances that ratio while targetting a male or a female audience. At least MLP has found a lot of success with an older male audience (85% of bronies are male) despite or because of this. At least it's not like the Smurfs where they have one female character to help populate the colony. WTH. 1 I have made brony music since 2011. I like all kinds of music and genres. I'm sure you'll like some of it.. Here's My YouTube..I have several albums on Bandcamp and Pony.FM. Check out the 20+ Musician project Maressey which I am running. Heck in real life a lot of women want to join the army. 1 Credits to Mint Drop for an awesome Sig.
Scootalove 10,692 November 9, 2013 Share November 9, 2013 Celestia isn't sexist at all. The primary audience for the show is females of course, but the thing is the show has a huge success of using the ratio of male and female watchers to their advantage. How come females don't join the royal gaurds? How come Star Swirl and Sombra are the only stallions intrested in magic? How come Shining Armor and Blueblood aren't as respected as the princesses are? The show has a lot of plotholes in it 1 Credits to Mint Drop for an awesome Sig.

The show has a lot of plotholes in it Females are probably allowed to join the royal guards, they just decide not to join them. Not all stallions are interested in magic, only unicorns are interested in magic. The show definitely has plotholes, understandable. They aren't as respected as princesses because, even if they are royalty we haven't really seen them save the kingdom. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
Nature's Spell 526 November 9, 2013 Share November 9, 2013 (edited) I don't think she is sexist and as others stated it's a female focused show and the main characters are female and it's written from their point of view. Think of Sex in the City. If you take away the love interests how many men wound those characters interact with that we'd care to watch? Not many. The mane 6 don't date so why would they be around males? Another example is the cartoon Max and Ruby. We never see their parents but we're told they exist, however for the writers the sibling interaction is what matters. 1) her two students we know so fat are both females -Twilight is apparently one of the few Unicorns who's talent is magic itself. Apparently only one other unicorn was at her level and that was Star Swril. Even Sunset wasn't as talented. 2)All of the royal gaurds are males for some reason -Most royal guards are males even in our world. I don't think any of the lifeguard regiments in the UK would allow women and if they did it's a recent development. 3) She seems to treat the other princesses as equal, But not the same to Shining Armor and Blueblood -Shining Armor was captain of the Royal guard, but isn't a prince in his own right. I have nothing to say about Blueblood. I think it's exactly that. But before i get on a soap box to be honest, it's not like any other princess on the show has changed the status quo. yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvTYhrZUgYY flight to the finish. i continue to improve,
