Twila Starshimmer 172 November 14, 2013 Share November 14, 2013 Hi, everypony! I discovered the MLP: Elements of Harmony guide book, and I was wondering if you all thought it was worth it? It's currently $13.22 on Amazon. What do you love about it? What is lacking? Thanks!
Treble Bolt 1,122 November 14, 2013 Share November 14, 2013 It is very much worth it if you are die hard fan. It's very rich with information, back story of the show, and has mini summaries of every episode to date (i believe). There is stuff from Faust herself as well as further explinations of how/why/what determined what went into the show. Again, it's very colorful (all glossy pages too). Totally worth it for what it is as a book too. For me, my favorite parts include the deeper background into how the charcters came to be who they are today (from sketch concept to personality). I also like the quotes that are on the inner covers of the book. What it's lacking....well, nothing on the comic series which kind've sucks since they are canon. And of course, there are errors with some names. But overall the pros FAR outweigh the cons. Of course, you could wait until the series as a whole is done and buy the book that includes EVERYTHING, if they make one that is an update, but personally I plan on buying all of them as/if they come out, to see how this show, its fandom, and the creative staff grow... 2 "In fire iron is born, by fire it is tamed"
Rough Pathway 157 November 14, 2013 Share November 14, 2013 (edited) Hmm well there isn't anything too special about it. It has some interesting tidbits about the show that you might've not known. It also has some artwork from early on in the show's production. Theres an interview with Lauren Faust in it, too. It covers the episodes from all 3 seasons and has lyrics from all of the songs. It has character descriptons and a part where the show staff comment on what they think about the brony fandom. I'd say its more geared to bronies than the younger audience. Overall, I like it. I think the design is my favorite part haha. I'd rather spend my money on some of the comics, but its a good guide book with interesting tidbits. I'd say go for it. I bought mine for $20 so I'm jealous of the $13 price. Edited November 14, 2013 by Rough Pathway Signature made by the amazing Sir Lunashy I make PMVS. TwilightDreamer 69 February 18, 2014 Share February 18, 2014 If it's that much for the book and if it's worth a read, then I would highly recommend it to other bronies and I might buy one myself. It'll be definitely worth the price if anyone wants to know more about Equestria and the show's history, basic summaries of each episode to date and with anything related to the characters like back stories concerning themselves that go far beyond what the show gave us. Scootalove 10,689 February 18, 2014 Share February 18, 2014 If it contains the information that you require, then it is definitely worth buying the book for that price. So yeah I can say that it is worth it. Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
FoxyCryptid 4,330 February 18, 2014 Share February 18, 2014 I'd say it's worth it. The print quality of the whole thing is very high and it's an interesting read. Lunia 332 February 23, 2014 Share February 23, 2014 I would say that it's also worth it. It would be a nice addition to someone's collection. Like mine! xD It's interesting to read, has a interview, a bit of artwork, the whole list of episodes, seasons 1-3. Other things that are nice. Also this summer they are releasing part 2 to the Elements of Harmony book. It's this right here! The chronicles of Celestia and Luna! 1 Signature made by me. Adorkable 2,737 March 21, 2014 Share March 21, 2014 I have the book, and I have to say it's one of the best reads ever! Did you look at the description on the book? I don't know if it has told you what was in it or not. But you have a summary of every episode up to Season 4. Tons of art work, bios, fun facts, lyrics to every song. Dude, I can reassure you. This book is more than worth it. I would actually go and pay the people more than what they were asking for this book is so damn good. Really though, I would recommend it to anyone, especially if you're a die hard fan who loves fun facts and reading. ^^
