Was the "stars will aid in her escape" thing ever explained?

I think it was explained. Maybe the stars lining up in a specific sequence around the moon, aided in Luna's escape.

I doubt it, because the book says the same "she" will bring about eternal night, which implies it's talking about Nightmare Moon.

She did bring eternal night, celestia disappeared, and the eternal night began.

 

 

Also, NMM just happens to escape on the exact same day new bearers are chosen? That's quite a concindence.

There's also the part in the episode where we see the moon and the stars around it move right before NMM shows up. So it might be more literal. I always took it as a sort of magical, astrological, "stars will align" kinda thing that shows up in a lot of fictional prophecies.

Well, either way they were chosen or whatever to stop NMM, yes? On a tangent, where did Celestia go?

I said that a few times and so did other ponies. I always felt that Twilight's cutie mark having six stars was a perfect symmetry between her and her friends.

I've often wondered how the stars helped her escape, but I've never come up with a theory I liked.
