books Suggest a Webcomic

Hey there everypony!! There are many webcomics on the internet and I feel like I barely scratched the surfaced with the ones I currently read xD

I really like reading indie comics and it'll be nice giving the authors and artists some support :D Not to forget the overall badassery the make

I'd like for you guys to suggest any webcomics you may think is really cool.

Here is a list of the ones I'm reading so far or have finished reading and have enjoyed quite a lot.

> Romantically Apocalyptic

> The Meek

> Lackadaisy Cats

> The Abominable Charles Christopher

> The End

I have a few that I really like:

Looking for Group- very loosely based on World of Warcraft. About an undead warlock and an elf traveling together, it's Hilarious!

Twokinds- takes place in a world with several non-human races, with whom the humans are at war. The story begins with a human with amnesia who finds a keidran, one of the non-human races. A good story, it gets better as it goes on.

Order of the Stick- will be funnier if you are familiar with the tabletop game Dungeons and Dragons, but is funny nonetheless. It's about a team of adventurers trying to destroy an evil undead sorcerer.

Housepets!- follows the life of a sentient cat and dog who are, as the name of the comic suggests, housepets. It is an amusing comic that hints at plot lines lurking in the background.

Oh hey it's you (didn't recognize you with the new avatar).

I'll leave all the ones out that are pretty much just straight up comedy and go for the deeper, more story-driven pieces.

Strays Honestly I haven't read a LOT of it myself but from what I have read, it looks like something I'd really enjoy.

Spinnerette Yeah, okay, you might be thinking it's just a female version of Spiderman but it's not. (mostly) I only recently stopped reading it because the got a change in artists... I MISS THE ORIGINAL ART DANG IT.

Well I guess that's really the only two "story-driven" ones that you didn't already post that I had... (Wow, short list) I've got like 26 web comics I check every other day but they're all of the topical "slap-stick" nature.

And some reason this isn't letting me post because 8 characters? o . o

Ok though, read homestuck, and you will experience sadness/laughter/happiness. Very nice comic.

I win the contest of worst signature.

Good game, all.

I am a massive webcomic reader. I just recently finished El Goonish Shive. Weird name, starts out with a really crappy artstyle but definitely kept me interested throughout and by the time I was caught up with the archives I didn't want it to be over so soon. Such is my life!

Here's a list of all the webcomics I've finished and care to keep up with. Copypasta from my RSS Feed so some of the names may be doubled up or a little messed. Still haven't gotten around to cleaning it up completely.

A couple more good ones could be Mystic Revolution, its about a group of people in this virtual reality MMO. Its kinda like SAO, but it isn't because they are not stuck in the game, and if you die in the game you still live in real life and can respawn. Hmmm, Sore Thumbs was also good for a while, its not as good anymore as it used to be, but it was a fairly good comic. Oh, and then there is Gunshow, it makes like, 0% sense 100% of the time, but it is still fairly interesting.

Or just pick one at random and go. I'd recommend Better Days, El Goonish Shive, or the It's Walky series first (Dumbing of Age and Shortpacked come from It's Walky. That series doesn't update which is why it's not on the list but is practically required reading for the two that are). All three will take awhile and are very good. Among the best I've ever read.

My name is Jimmy. I play the video games.

Right after that entire story arc was about when it stopped being good. After that I read it less and less and now I don't even look at it.

Yeah, I still read the updates, I just don't enjoy them as much as I used to. It certainly is not as good as some of my other favorites, (Subnormal Step, Mystic Revolution, Twokinds, etc.) But still, it used to be really good, I just re-read it all a few weeks ago.

I see it was already mentioned several times on other people's lists, but "Gunnerkrigg Court". Because this web comic is awesome :>

It is very story-driven, with lots of unexpected plot twists and foreshadowing. The author is a master of exploiting past details in future plotting (I guess, since it's still being drawn, it's not finished yet, so it seems he don't know where it is going yet too). I loved it from the fact that there are lots of references to Alchemy, symbolism, mythology, nature vs. technology, scientific vs. spiritual etc. so, you know, the same reasons I watch ponies wink.png And it's really nice drawn (well, the first few chapters are somewhat worse, it improves with time).

Speaking of ponies: Maybe you know some good web comics embedded in the MLP:FiM realm? By "good" I mean good storytelling and drawing.

I've seen several short comics on DeviantArt already, but they are usually single comic strips showing some short scene, like a joke or something unexpected about the characters. But nothing really involving and deep. I still wait to see some web comic about ponies which would be long and engaging, with a deeper story. Because that's what I'm currently thinking myself about.

I've always thought of Gunnerkrig Court as kinda Harry Potter but more sciency. Not exactly accurate but I think it gets the point across to get people to want to check it out.
