Jaeger took another drag from his cigar before turning and speaking to Solar. "Crypt said you were in charge until he got back....I don't think that gives you the right to turn this into a boot camp!" He growled, angered by Solars actions. Jaeger took out his dagger and bow, placing them on the ground next to him. "If we spar...hooves only...and if I win....the mares don't fight." He spat

@,

Sunny flinched at Solar's outburst, though she expected nothing more. It was cruel what she did, but it had to be done. The melancholic mare waited till she couldn't hear him anymore before turning around and plopping to a sit, drying her eyes and looking up with a determined face. With that, she made her way back in the same direction as he, the happiness fading with the color of her pelt. The Cadence Branch Inquisitors wouldn't be pleased if they heard of her loss of who she was but they weren't here fighting for Equestria like she.

@@Frosty V,

"Why?" Sunny said in a extremely noticeable, different tone as she proceeded to them not long after Solar, not even glancing at him. "I could even fight you. You think you're superior to us simply because of your sex?"

"You have to establish the horizon. You have to mark the white. A simple enough act, you might say, but any act that re-makes the world is heroic. Or so I've come to believe."

A few tears where now forming around Solar's eyes as he takes a deep breath and re-sheathes his sword. He was shaking. "LOOK EVERYPONY! I'M SORRY OK! I was myself with you all. The caring and kind officer who had his troops best internist in mind. I saw how that plays out..." As he looks up. "You know what, everypony, At ease! Jaeger, I need to talk to you in private."

Solar walks away motioning for Jaeger to fallow him.

Sunny was about to tear up again before she turned her head. He could get over her. He was a strong stallion. She so dearly wanted to do something...but the result would only hurt Solar in the long run. Sunny knew she needed to stay out of the picture...no matter how much it hurt. "Will everypony just SHUT UP!?" Charcoal shouted. "You all need to sit down and take a few breaths of air." She turned to Solar first. "You, you call yourself a member of the Celestia Branch and even that you guard Celestia yourself, yet you lose your cool when a mare says the mission comes first. The world hasn't ended, just wait. You don't see me freaking out over not being able to be with Lee." Then she turned to Sunny. "Sunny, what happened to the amazing mare who was asking me if Solar would like her a minute ago? Did she just decide to leave when things got too hard for her? I figures this is where she would want to shine the most and sing a song to keep everyponies spirits high."

The mare shook her head at Charcoal, "There is no room for song in a mare without heart," she admitted sadly, not feeling any music rise from her soul.

Sunny knew Charcoal's words to be true but hurt even more extensively when Solar said what he did. Sunny looked away from Charcoal sullenly, sniffling a little. Though it pained her unrelentingly, she knew that to protect Solar, things had to be this way...but she wish she had met him under different circumstances. Maybe then, she could be with him without worry of death and Equestria on the line to pain their hearts. Sunny couldn't hardly bear it as she looked at Solar's hurt face, even to the point that it made her feel like she was going to get sick. Then, as she looked back to Charcoal, holding back her tears, Sunny backed away from her touch singing quietly and depressive to that it was almost a whisper...though her song was short.

"Light is no more...now darkness comes,

Love's poison stings...with deathly hums.

Life is...a lie,

Screams from within...spare no cry.

The fears and fire

They burn my soul,

bring the flames higher,

With hurt and pain...

Weeping still as I have reached the end alone,

My heart is lost, it will never find...home...

It is lost...It will never find home..."

As her dark ballad ceased, Sunny unsheathed her rapier and grabbed a thick strand of her mane...Then she cut it off in a flurry of the gold hairs falling like feathers to the ground. The mare then sat with her eyes closed, writhing in her internal pain.

Charcoal sighed. She was too depressed. She was suddenly reminded of a song she had heard once before. She would never normally sing but... this was an emergency. Charcoal cleared her throat and began singing.

"Well I won't back down, no I won't back down

You can stand me up at the gates of hell

But I won't back down

Gonna stand my ground, won't be turned around

And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down

Gonna stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out

Hey I will stand my ground and I won't back down

Well I know what's right, I got just one life

In a world that keeps on pushin' me around

But I stand my ground and I won't back down

Hey baby, there ain't no easy way out

Hey I will stand my ground and I won't back down

No I won't back down."
