Jaeger rolled over in his bed, placing his pillow over his head in an act of protest from having to get out of the comfortable bed. He groaned lightly as he sat up and rubbed his eyes. Celestia I wanna kill him he thought as he eyed Moon Crypt and climbed out of the bed.

 

He grabbed his armor and slid it on, putting hid torn black cloak on over it. Clipping down his saddle bags and slipping his weapons into their appropriate holsters. "This news better be important..." he grumbled so only Solar could hear him. He followed Solar until they met with Moon Crypt. He sat and waited to hear what he had to tell them.

Lee slowly woke up, consciousness coming to him through a clouded mind. "Where am I? More importantly, how did I get here? Last thing I remember...I was in the bar...and then. Nothing" He kept his breathing steady and his eyes closed, so, to anyone watching him, he would still seem unconscious. He slowly spread his senses out, searching for any sign of emotion in the surrounding area. When he was sure that there was no one present, he slowly opened his eyes and looked around him. Books, books, and books. That was all he could see. "Where in Queen SsssspellBinder'ssss name am I?" His voice surprised him. Looking at himself, he found that he had reverted forms while unconscious, and was now his changeling self. "Blassssst it!" he swore, hissing loudly, and quickly shifted back to his usual unicorn form.

Even with Solar's thud after rolling out of bed to the floor and Moon's booming commands, Sunny remained asleep, snoring ever so slightly. It wasn't until she heard Jaeger shuffling around that she finally woke. With a quick sniffle and a long yawn, Sunny sprawled out flat on the bed lazily. A few pops gave out as she then stretched to her heart's content and looked around briefly. 'Oh!...Oh Celestia! They're gone!' Sunny thought to herself in a sudden panic as she noticed Solar wasn't there too. Quickly, she burst from the top bunk and landed to the floor with a hefty thump before racing into her and Charcoal's room to grab her stuff. "Oh thank Celestia!" she sighed in relief as she saw Charcoal. "I thought ya'll had left without me...How're ya doin' this mornin' Charcoal?"

Charcoal didn't hear Sunny as she was too deep in thought to hear her. She stood up from her bed and walked to the bathroom in almost a trance. She opened the door and sat down by the sink where she splashed some water in her face to wake herself up. Then she sighed as she began brushing her mane to get it actually looking presentable. Alright, lets think over what was said... two with some sort of special magic... two that act like a void... oh Luna why? Charcoal thought to herself as she placed her head in her hooves and began rubbing her face as she finally put the pieces together.

"Charcoal?...Is everything alright?" Sunny asked sympathetically as she followed the mare into the bathroom. She seemed so...peculiar, minus the obvious smell of smoke lingering in the atmosphere. It was a relief to Sunny that she was up and about but it worried the mare that she seemed so upset. Perhaps it was about Lee's disappearance...or..something else? Sunny proceeded up to Charcoal and tapped her on the shoulder with her hoof. "Charcoal?"

Charcoal jumped a but and screamed at Sunny's touch and out of pure instinct aimed a swing right at Sunny. At the last second though Charcoal saw that it was a friend and changed the direction so she hit the wall instead. "Oh... Sunny... it's just you." Charcoal said as she brought her hoof back down to the ground. "S-Sorry about that. I guess... I guess I'm just a bit jumpy after... another nightmare." Charcoal said. It was true about her being a bit jumpy, but she hoped Sunny wouldn't push her too hard to try and get what had really happened. She was still trying to piece everything together.

Sunny had jumped back instinctively as well as the hoof almost came upon her. She was scared slightly just as much as Charcoal by the mare's reaction but shrugged it off as she found that her friend needed some attending too. "Sorry...didn't mean sneakin' up on ya like that...Nightmares again huh?" Sunny asked with a sigh. "Sorry to hear that...If ya want, I'll keep an eye on ya the next night so you'll sleep a bit better." Patting Charcoal on the back lightly, Sunny gave her a wink and a smile. "So uh...where's the stallions?"

Charcoal sighed and rubbed her face again. "No... that's alright. I'll be fine, just give me some time to wake up." Charcoal said as she readjusted her glasses back. "And, I haven no idea where the stallions are. I just woke up and came in here. I haven't been out of this room all morning. So I wouldn't know where the stallion's are." She suddenly remembered what Moon had said the night before and she panicked a bit. "But let's go find them right now shall we." Charcoal said as she almost forcefully pulled Sunny out of the bathroom.

Sunny realized the seriousness in Charcoal's eyes as she tugged her down to where the stallions were below. "Ya seem kinda worried about somethin' Charcoal," she stated, curious for an explanation. Her stomach grumbled for food. "Guess it's time for breakfast huh?" she chuckled, trying to lighten the mood as they made it downstairs.

Charcoal led Sunny down the stairs to the breakfast hall. "No... I'm not worried, I'm just... um... r-really wanting you and Solar to be together. I heard you two made up." Charcoal said as they entered the mess hall where she found Solar and Jaegar. Charcoal sighed in relief that they were there.

"Good morning Everypony!" Solar said in a cheerful manner. "I hope everyone slept well. I know I did, I even had a warm, furry extra pillow last night." as he winked at Sunny.

 

Solar looked around, noticing that Lee was still not there and sighed. "I suggest that our first order of business would be to find where Lee went...Other than that, I know Jaeger and I where going to find out some more information from White Quill about this profligacy, and I may just see if I can find a good book there to read in my downtime." he laughed. Making up with Sunny had put him in an unusually good mood.

 

Solar looked to Moon Crypt "To be honest, I feel like I could take on all the demons at once myse..." as Solar closed his eyes and put a hoof up to his head. "Blasted headache. Jaeger, do you have any more of those pills?"

Charcoal began tugging Sunny to Solar. "Right right, yeah, I slept fine. Not a better night has been slept for me." Charcoal said before shoving Sunny into Solar to get them close. "You two need anything, no, great I'll leave you two alone." Charcoal said before zooming off before they could ask questions. She walked over to Jaeger and sat down beside him before breathing a sigh of relief.

Jaeger looked back from Moon Crypt and Solar to the two mares who had just arrived. He gave his head a quick dip as a short greeting, not in the mood for talking as usual. He turned back to his conversation with his superior and his partner. He nodded slowly as Solar gave his suggestions as to their plans for the day. If Moon Crypt said otherwise it wouldn't surprise him much.

 

He turned his gaze to Solar as he grabbed his head, asking Jaeger if he had any more of his pills. Jaeger reached into his cloak and pulled out another pill. This one of a smaller size. "You can't have to much. An overdose could send you to insanity....or death." Jaeger said with a slight shrug as he held out the pill.

"Thanks Buddy," as he took the pill from Jaeger. It took a few moment to kick in, but it dulled his headache. "When I find the demon that's giving me these...." before he finished, he had Sunny shoved into him.

 

"Good Morning Sunshine!" as he put his wing around her, pulling her close as he looked to Charcoal. "Um..OK, I wonder what got into her?"

Solar's stomach groweld as he awaited the food. At one point, he though he could feel his and Sunny's growing at the same time. "Wow, that's weird." he laughed as he nuzzled her head.

Charcoal sighed. She was starting to get a bit stressed with all that was going on. She gave Jaeger a tap on the shoulder to get his attention. "Hey Jaegar, you mind coming with me to have a quick smoke? Things are just... a bit stressful for me right now and it would be helpful to be able to have somepony to talk to while I smoke."

Charcoal sighed. She was starting to get a bit stressed with all that was going on. She gave Jaeger a tap on the shoulder to get his attention. "Hey Jaegar, you mind coming with me to have a quick smoke? Things are just... a bit stressful for me right now and it would be helpful to be able to have somepony to talk to while I smoke."

Jaeger smiled and nodded. "Yeah you'll beat them to death....then take more pills." He said with a laugh as he turned his attention to Charcoal and smiled. "Well! I haven't seen you in a while...your not avoiding me are you?" He said with a grin as he playfully nudged her side before nodding and following her out and handed her some cigars and his lighter. "So....stressful huh?" He asked

Jaeger smiled and nodded. "Yeah you'll beat them to death....then take more pills." He said with a laugh as he turned his attention to Charcoal and smiled. "Well! I haven't seen you in a while...your not avoiding me are you?" He said with a grin as he playfully nudged her side and pulled out his pack of cigars and held it in front of her. "Care for a smoke? I can't use all of them." He said

Charcoal took the cigar, almost seeming desperate for it and lit it with a match before she started smoking. She sighed in relief ad she felt her lungs being filled with smoke. "Yeah... that's the stuff." Charcoal said. "Yes, I really needed this. I can't even tell you how stressful this day has been." Charcoal said. "Oh, and maybe I have heed avoiding you. I don't think you deserve my company." Charcoal said as she playfully nudged him back.

Jaeger chuckled at the nudge before taking a drag from his cigar. "Dont deserve your company eh? Well thats a little harsh." He said with a light chuckle as he took another drag from his cigar. "I know how you feel...things have been stressful for me to..." he said as he looked over to Solar and Sunny. "Can I tell you something?.....I'm...I'm jealous if those to....it seems like they practically bumped into each other and fell in love. I wish ig was that easy for me." He said with an awkward chuckle

Sunny blushed as Charcoal pushed her into Solar's loving embrace, smiling as well as she felt his wing wrap around her. "Mornin' Soaly," she answered back quietly before nuzzling his nose likewise. "She's just missin' Lee is all...Poor Charcoal...I really wish she could see 'em again," Sunny nodded. As she felt Solar's stomach rumbling with her's, she couldn't help but chuckle and pat his belly teasingly. "'Bout time for some food I think...Oh uh, howdy Jaegar," piped Sunny, almost forgetting the presence of others. "Doin' alright this mornin'?"

Charcoal chuckled and took as she took a drag as well. "Yeah... it was pretty quick. But... I'm kind of happy for them. And so you know, if I hadn't caught my eye with Lee I would have probably gone for you. You seem like a pretty nice pony over all." Charcoal said as she gave Jaeger another playful nudge as she took a drag.

Jaeger let out another friendly laugh as he nudged her back. "I must say I did have me eye on you for a little while...in a completely non creepy way." He said, taking another drag as he looked back to the couple standing a ways from them. He shrugged. "Eh, maybe love just isn't the thing for me....I've been alone for a long time...why should it change now?" He said with a nod

Charcoal took anothee drag as she thought of her next words. "Well... maybe because it is better to know that you could have a special pony with there with you at all times. Knowing he or she will..." Charcoal took another drag as she began to finish. "Knowing he or she will always be there for you and always be there to comfort you in your time of need." Charcoal said before placing a hoof on Jaeger's shoulder. "And just know that I am always here if you need some problems solved.

Jaeger hesitated before turning to look at Charcoal with a caring smile. "Th-thanks Charcoal....that means a lot to me...it really does." He said with a slight nod. He then turned to Sunny who he had almost forgotten, had greeted him. He bowed his head slightly. "Well I'm doin mighty fine this morning, Sunny hows about yourself." He said with a laugh, finishing his cigar and stamping it into the ground.

Charcoal smiled and gave Jaeger another friendly nudge. "It's not a problem at all." Charcoal said before finishing up her cigar and stamping it just as Jaegar had. "And what I said before was true, I will be here if you ever need somepony to talk to about anything. All you have to do is ask."

"Oh..." Sunny looked to Solar with a smirk then looked back to Jaeger with a wink,"I'm doin' much better. Least you're in a good mood, otherwise I'd have to cheer ya up with a song." With an encouraging look, the mare then turned to the table as she eagerly awaited food. Being a hard eating mare, food was a pretty high priority when it was available.
