"OK than...Time for the big finally. I wish I could do this more, but I think this is all I can handle for one day." as Solar climbed higher into the sky before beginning a dive towards the ground. The speed had his cheeks flapping as they approached a sonic speed. Meir feet from the ground, Solar pulled up, exerting a few G-forces on himself and the mare who was holding on, as he began the large vertical loop. As he went over the crest of the loop, he stopped flapping, just extending his wings as he had instructed Charcoal to do. Only using them to steer, coasting through the air. As they approached the ground, he had enough remaining speed to do a corkscrew before landing near Sunny.

 

"I I think that's all I got for now.." as he panted a bit.

Charcoal had a crazy smile on her face. She ran forward and hugged the stallion. "Thank you so much for that. I just... I don't know his to ever thank you for showing me that amazing experience. I just... just thank you. I just can't tell you how happy I am right now."

Lee turned and looked back at Jaeger. "Bad first...no, it was amazing. The thing is...well, I'm not sure if you were around when I was talking about it. When I was banished from the hive, left to die here in equestria, they clipped my wings. I can't fly anymore. I don't know why they let me keep my horn, but they cut off my wings." He looked away, tears coming to his eyes. "Now, it's all I can do not to think about that. If it wasn't for a pegasus down in Ponyville, I'd be dead right now. I don't know why she cared enough to save me. I've heard you ponies had a rough time with changelings a while ago, that right? If that's true, why did she..." He trailed off, lost in thought.

Solar slowly walked back over to Sunny, Putting his wing on her back. "...I've done my good dead for the day. I need a nap," He said jokingly. "I hope that when this mission is done, I can take you up in the clouds so that all the Pegasi can hear you beautiful voice."

Jaeger was taken aback by the comment. He really hadn't noticed until now that the changeling didn't have wings, and he felt stupid for not spotting it earlier. Jaeger patted Lee's shoulder with his hoof as he explained about the mare that had taken care of him after he got kicked out of his hive. "She did it because she saw you weren't like the rest. You weren't mean or cruel, you were a good pony. One who needed help. Most of us ponies are very caring if given an opportunity to be." He said with a smile.

Charcoal nodded with a smile. "Of course. I'll leave you two alone." Then she walked off to go inside the ship and find Lee. She walked in and began looking, but it didn't take her long to find him with somepony she didn't know. But she saw Lee looking sad and walked up to him. "Hey, you alright?"

Lee looked at Jaeger. "Thanks. I...I've been having a problem with this whole flying thing lately. I...went up to the bow of the ship while we were flying and, well, I was actually tempted to jump. I want to feel the wind again. I-"

 

He stopped abruptly upon hearing his name and turned to see Charcoal. "Oh, hey Char, yeah. I'm fine, I'm just talking to Jaeger about my first time flying."

Charcoal smiled. "Oh, really? Sounds interesting." Charcoal gave Lee a quick kiss. Then she turned to Jaeger. "So... Jaeger isn't it? It's nice to meet you. I'm Charcoal." Charcoal stuck out a hoof as a friendly gester. She was never normally this talkitive with new ponies.

Lee thought for a moment. "Jaeger, if I remember correctly, didn't your boss say to keep an eye on me and Moon? Because we're changelings? Would it make your life any easier if I showed you what I used to look like? Minus my wings of course, those are gone permanently, I can shift to what I used to look like. If it would help you, documentation or something like that..." He was looking at Jaeger intently. He was sure he could trust every pony on this ship, and wished to show them his greatest secret. What he used to look like.

Sunny blushed tremendously at Solar's comment as she watched him zoom through the clouds with Charcoal on his back. He really does like me?...A content smile appeared on Sunny's muzzle amid the blush...It's almost like them stories... She then plopped to a sit to watch them in the sky happily. Charcoal was finally smiling and that meant the world to her to see. Her friend was finally happy.

Jaeger smiled at Lee before looking up see another pony, a mare he had seen around the ship. When she asked his name he nodded. "Yes, Jaeger is my name it is good to meet you Charcoal." He said, shaking her hoof firmly. He heard Lee begin to speak once more, turning his attention back to the stallion. He had a puzzled look across his face after lee had finished speaking. "What you used to look like.....sure, I'm interested to see." He said in a curious tone

A black and grey pegasus walked up to the group, wearing the robes of a Lord Inquisitor and smiling. "Well. Everything seems to have sorted itself out here... more or less." He sighed. "I hope that everyone's ready to go. We'll go ahead and leave when we're all ready." He glanced at Lee. "I wouldn't do that here, yes? Wait until we hit the forest before blaring out what you really are. Just a suggestion."

Lee nodded at Jaeger and was about to shift again when Moon Crypt walked up behind him. "Oh, hello sir. Yes, I'm ready as well, I should just switch to my disguise.Then I'll be set to go whenever you want. And that is right, I shouldn't shift in to...my old self...not on the deck in the middle of plain view at any rate." He turned back to Jaeger. "Right, sorry. I'll have to show you later. For now, I should probably go finish getting ready. I'll be back in a few." Upon saying this, he turned around and walked down some stairs to one of the rooms and started pulling supplies out of the pockets in his vest and piling them on the desk sorting it out and double checking to be sure he had everything, muttering to himself as he sorted through it "Assorted knives, smoke bombs, flint and tinder, dynamite? Where did I get...oh well. Might come in handy. A bigger knife. A flare...right, these were all almost in the same pocket...I was really in a rush to get out of here wasn't I? Wow...careless careless careless. Rope, bandages, assorted medical supplies...a 'how to for idiots' on medical issues booklet. A whistle, mirror, some bits, a few more bits, a couple bottles of cider, lemons, rations, other food, snack food...Why do I have all this stuff? Oh well, can't hurt to keep it with me. Ah, here it is, water. Gotta make sure I have plenty of that. Here's some more water, a small filter in case I get lost, an empty bottle in case of emergency's... All set, now I'll be...hmmm. I've already used my dark unicorn form, I'll go for a white one this time. Less conspicuous looking." In a flash of green flame, his coat took on a pure glossy white color. His mane and tale, the color of olive drab. He walked over to a mirror and checked himself over, noticing the turquoise color of his eyes hadn't changed. "Oh well, I like this color." He noticed his voice had deepened a little, but not as much as it had when he had shifted to his darker form. It also had a more melodic sound to it. "Hmm. If I ever feel the need to join some kind of choir, I should remember this form. I would make a great bass." He walked back up on deck and sat down next to Jaeger, facing Moon Crypt. "There, all set. My gear is sorted and I'm shifted. Ready when every pony else is."

"Well, we better get back to the ship to find out what Lord Moon Crypt has planned. We wouldn't want to be late." as he smiles at Sunny, retracting his wings. "I'll race you there!" as Solar begins to sprint but only makes it about ten feet before his fatigue catches up with him. "...I'll....I'll meet you there." as he walks the rest of the way to the airship, meeting up with the group.

"Good day everypony, Sir." as he salutes Moon Crypt. "I believe everypony is present and awaiting your briefing." Solar had his game face on. His priority was now the mission. He had to make sure that his troops, his Friends made it through at all costs.

Sunny had almost raced past Solar before turning around and trotting by his side, "I'm stayin' right here with you. Pick up them hooves."

Sunny beamed a smile to the Inquisitor, "Sunny present and sweeter than caramel!" She then trotted up next to him and nodded, "I'd say we're all in tip top shape."

Charcoal saw Sunny and Solar walk on to the ship. She smiled and walked over to them since Lee wasn't here to her to be with. Then she turned to Moon Crypt. "And I am also ready to go at any time. Let's get this show on the road." Charcoal said, being much more enthusiast than she was before.

Moon Crypt smiled. "Let's get going. I want to put a few miles between us and here before we start talking. Just in case."

As the sun begins to sink into the horizon, the group came to a stop, the pines of the Everfree looming overhead. "Alright. The town is a few miles in. When I'm done here, Lee and I will set out." His smile faded away into deadly seriousness, his disguise fading away for an instant. "I didn't tell the council this, because they would panic and things would never get done, but this is a serious threat. These mountains here are known as the Foal Mountains. Somewhere in here is a known demonancer- a pony named Stardust- that we have yet to find, let alone remove, from her mountainous home. The fact that there is a demonic threat here almost confirms that these ponies are either corrupted or in really, really deep water." He sighed. "So, this is what we are going to do. Me and Lee are going to enter inconspicuously as the forerunners of a band of adventurers. Depending on our reaction, we'll familiarize ourselves with the locals and, if all goes well, have you all sleeping in an inn tonight. Tomorrow morning, we will be breaking up into two-pony teams and then examining the nearby mountain ranges. I want you to report in the INSTANT you see anything suspicious."

 

He sighed. "The moment we find where the demons are, we are going to have to go in and remove them. I expect Jaeger to help us with that, his training coming in handy. Caramel's job is to, once we get everyone over there, to get us on the good side of these ponies. We'll need the base of operations, because we might be staying there for a while. Charcoal, I didn't see your training, but I assume that you can assist me in sticking knives in people's backs if ponies get too suspicious, yes? And, Solar, you are going to be ground leader if I am unavailable- for whatever reasons. I want to talk to you in private a bit later about some things, but, other than that, i am finished. Anything else before me and Lee head out?"

Charcoal nodded. "Of course I can. Just tell me who I need to stab and I will assist. Just don't make me do it to anyone I know. I may be here to help but you won't ever get me to hurt somepony I know and trust." Charcoal said, her gaze moving to Lee a bit before looking back at Moon Crypt.

Lee stood a little ways back from the group. He was still shifted to look like a white stallion he had encountered a long time ago. His face betrayed nothing. His mind was clear. He was a changeling, born to do this, to infiltrate unfamiliar and possibly, no, most probably hostile areas. He had become a soldier, trained for high intensity missions. He was ready. What ever was out there better watch out.

Solar looked at Moon Crypt as he gave the briefing, Nodding in agreement with most things that he said. He looked at Moon and than to each member in the meeting.

 

"I understand sir. It will be nice to be able to sleep in a bed that's not flying, however, I'm fine with setting a camp if need be."

Solar walks slowly over to Lee, slowly taking out one of his few remaining coins, and hoof bumps the Changeling. "Good luck." as he pulls his hoof away leaving the coin in Lee's.

 

Solar looks back to Moon Crypt.

"I'm ready when you are Sir." he said. He was excited for what the Lord Inquisitior may have to say to him, but also a bit afraid.

He took the coin and put it in a secret pocket inside his vest that he reserved for only the most valuable items in his collection of things. He smiled at Solar one more time then backed up again to the edge of the group, near the forest where he waited to get going.

Charcoal saw that Lee was getting ready to leave. The only reason she could tell it as him was because of how everyone talked to him. She ran up to him. "Lee... if this is goodbye for now... I just..." Charcoal forgot her words and simply kissed him. She kissed him for a long before breaking the kiss. "Good luck."

@, Moon Crypt watched the pair kiss before shaking his head and walking away, leading Solar on a ways from the group.

 

Upon going roughly fifty feet from the group, he sighed. "Alright. In the event that I am captured or killed during the course of this mission, and you are not immediately able to either free me or complete the mission, I want you to go back to the airship and tell the council to, firstly, recall Lord Inquisitor Starlight. We will need the Twilight Branch if the demonic levels are that bad. If he is unavailable, then..." He fished out a symbol of a sun, with an eye emblazoned in the middle. "... then you will proceed to fit this into the slot in the dashboard of the airship, and then proceed to request for the Council to firebomb the city."

Solar looks over the shoulder at the group. "Have you given any thought into the teams or where you just going to have ponies pare up. The only reason I ask this is because...well....love can make you do some stupid things."

Lee was about ready to walk in to the forest when he heard some pony walk up behind him, he tensed and spun around to see Charcoal. Relaxing, he smiled at her and was about to say good bye when she grabbed him and kissed him. He smiled and held the kiss for a long moment, closing his eyes and enjoying the contact. As he finally broke away from Charcoal, he smiled at here. "I'll be back. I promise." @@Charcoal Embers

 

He started walking after Moon Crypt and Solar when he heard them conversing in hushed tones. "Probably not for my ears..." he turned around and walked back to the edge of the forest so that he could see the camp but would be out of site to anyone outside the forest. He sat down, bored. "Maybe I should work on that Chameleon spell..." A full invisibility spell was to difficult to pull off for him at this point in time, but a simple chameleon spell, using magic to project what's behind you in front of you, that wasn't to hard, just needs a bit of practice. He worked on trying to get it just right. The problem is that you can't move when performing the spell, otherwise everything gets blurry and you become even more visible then when you first started. He tried and tried until he heard hoof steps behind him. Dropping the spell, he turned around. "Ready to go?" @
