"Huh? Oh hey! Well one of them is and I've only known him because I stayed in Canterlot for a bit and Dusty here was an excellent tour guide, although poor guy is a bit on the quiet side sometimes and I can understand, but once you get him going on he'll warm up to you and Hooves be praised the boy can carry a conversation!...Right Rambling, actually I don't I even got your name Miss..although it would be sensible because I have ought to introduce myself." He said going on again as he turned towards his Pegasus acquaintance. 

 

"I am Sleepless Sketch, though most just refer to me as Sketch, or that one Stallion that can't keep awake in class sometimes, buuuut that's another thing entirely. A pleasure to meet ya!" Sketch said as he lent out his hoof for a good shake trying to masquerade his sleepy demeanor for ramble and banter.

"Nice to meet you too!  My name's Neon Fire, and obviously as you know, I'm a Pegasus.  I'd like to be either a Wonderbolt or Canterlot Guard-but anyway, doesn't matter much right now.  It's nice to meet your friend too."  She said, as she turned to the orange stallion.

Dust turns around, "Sleepless? Woah, what a coincidence, what are you doing here?" Dust says in a excited tone, seeing a friendly and familiar face brought him out of his funk.

"Well Miss Fire I do believe this is the start of a fantastic friendship! Though I think we should go and have a sat down before we cause complication with the waiters of this establishment. Come along Miss fire!" 

 

Sketch motioned her to come sit with him just a table away from the previous two as he made himself comfortable on the fine seats opening a menu.

 

"Wonderbolt or Royal Guard eh? That sounds like quite the ambition you got there! You're no doubt a shoo in for either one Miss Fire." He said giving a goofy smile showing off his optimism and glass-half-full attitude.

Sketch turns his head slightly from his menu and Miss Fire to look back at Dusty making quipped conversations.

 

"Ahhh that's the Dusty I remember! I'm moving to Ponyville sir, aaand meeting new faces apparently, same old same old, how about you? I have naught seen you for a while now nor heard of your tales of adventure! What goes on?" Sketch said picking up Bro-talk with his brown friend.

"Ah well, I have to get away from Canterlot, too many painful memories." Dust says, "Oh and where are my manners, this lovely young mare is Ambrose, she just finished her studies at Engineering College." Dust says, motioning over Ambrose, who was still sitting next to him.

Ambrose had shrunk back into her seat 1 on 1 she could handle, but now there was too many new ponies to look at. She drew away from the group and close to Dust, the person se knew the best. Ambrose slid back a little further trying to avoid questions.

Don't think about it, just live it ya' know? then I'm almost positive you'll make either or, of course they both require the dedication of a brain surgeon, but still you'd be doing fantastic things!"

 

Sketch could never stay quiet long enough before he started spouting his INSPIRATION ramblings. He believed in anypony and he was optimistic about it, maybe a little too optimistic, eyes were starting to wander towards them AGAIN.

Dust sees Ambrose shrinking in her seat, "It's ok Ambrose, the stallion over there is a aquiantance of mine, his name is Sleepless Sketch and he is a very nice and friendly pony. I gave him a tour of the castle the last time he was in Canterlot." He sees the mare next to Sleepless, "though I do not know who that mare is, but Sleepless is usually a very good judge of character."

Ambrose spoke up "no no it's fine you guys can talk am just a little....... Shy" she said nervously. She didn't want to take Dust's fried away. She leaned back in her seat again and began to fiddle with a wrench. She had heard dust mention parents, she looked down sadly, her father had died 4 weeks ago

Dust heard Sketch mention something about ambition and being either a Guard or Wonderbolt, to the mare next to him, "Sketchy? Did I hear you right, that this mare wants to be either a Royal Guard of Wonderbolt?" He asks curiously, as he had previously been a fairly highly ranking officer in the Royal Guard, one of the most trusted guards at that, with a recommendation from him, the mare could get into the academy lickity split!

He then turns to Ambrose, "If..if you're sure Ambrose. I also noticed you looking sad when I mentioned my parents...is something wrong?"

No? That's oka- CHIPS! That's what I'll have, I'll have some chips!"

 

Sketch exclaimed pointing his hoof down on the menu getting excited by his choice in eatery.

"And it's quite alright Miss Wrenchy Mare I'll leave the conversations with Ol' Dusty to you!" He said looking to the side of him and giving her a quick wink as he continued to ramble on about...chips.

Ambrose shrank wen further down and turns to Dust " am fine" she said. She wasn't quite read to talk that perks ally yet. She shrank father wen she heard someone else talking to her. "Am sorrrry" she said not wanting to intrude or disrupt some other pony talking.

"AHA! I made you laugh! i am the winner of the Dining Cart! Now all I need are my chips and I-"

All of a the paleish green pony stood dead in his tracks and plopped his head down on the table of the cart...at first it seemed rather worrisome but before long it wasn't until a minute later that he began to snore lightly.

 

"Well," Neon Fire said, chuckling.

 

She looked at him, turning her head slightly to the side, something she did when curious.  He just suddenly fell asleep...  Just like that?  Guess that's how he got his name.

Oh and I guess we better get Sketch somewhere more comfortable to sleep. Poor guy, he's been having trouble sleeping again"

He turns to the mare, how about I write you a letter of recommendation to get you accepted into the Guard Accademy, I was a very highly ranking officer and one of the most trusted, I was one of the only guards to be chosen to guard and protect the Princesses. Come find me in about an hour, and I'll have it written for you. How does that sound?"

Yes it had been the longest train ride he has ever ridden, though even through his outbursts and sudden ramblings, everypony has their limits. Though it wouldn't be a long one as he began to open his tired eyes once more only to find himself on the back of his friend. He lifted his head from it's resting place and looked around befuddled.

 

"Oh yeah..narcolepsy...fun." He murmured to himself as he wiped the sleepy from his eyes as he yawned.

 

He looked over at Neon then to the other ponies as he tilted his head. 

 

"oh...I wasn't asleep long?....bummer.." His voice was noticeably mellower and slow as his eyes began to wonder around the Dining cart then out to the window. "Huh..."

She followed Dust into the sleeping area to help set down Sketch . She was glad to know that Dust was even more caring then her, she mentioned this to Dust

At the mention that Ambrose liked how he was even more caring than her he smiled and replies, "I would do anything for my friends, even die for them."

 

He turns to Sketch, who is now resting on a bed, "Isn't that right Sketchy?"

 

Without waiting for an answer, he turns to Ambrose and says,, "Come on, I think we're nearly at Ponyville and it'll be nice to get off this train."

Ambrose stepped off the train her luggage magically closing behind her. "So shall we go on that tour then" she asked Dust. There were so many places to go but Ambrose knew she had to start with Sugarcube Corner the best place in town, maybe in equestria.

Dust turns to her, "Sure, though it may be better if we drop off at the Inn first, it'll make it easier leaving our luggage there, instead of dragging them everywhere." He says as he picks up his own luggage, "I just hope I'm not too late, I've heard that if you're late to a room booking, you can lose it."

Sketch was sleeping soundly on the train car bed when the train had suddenly come to a stop. With a bump and a toot of the train's horn, Sketch woke from his sleep-deprived slumber and stood up right.

 

"WHOA WE'RE HE- h-hey! Wait for me you gits!"

 

He exclaimed taking his luggage from his previous seat and galloped right after the two other ponies. He had finally caught up with the two and trotted along slightly behind them rolling his suit case.

 

The breeze, that sunshine, and those beautiful birds singing in the sky! This was indeed the Ponyville he remembered! He was excited and relieved all in all that he could finally make a fresh start here in his lovely hometown and away from the ruckus.
