"I'm not too fond of being closed in either, and prefer being out in nature.  And yeah, I can definitely understand that with your parents, I just never heard it before," she said.

 

She looked down at the kitten, then back at Indigo.

 

"What'd the little guy say?"

 

"He says he doesn't have a mummy and daddy, they died last night." Tears form in his eyes, but he wasn't afraid to show his sensitivity. He smiles again, "But he sure is a little cutie, I am sure I could find somepony nice enough to look after him." He was really hoping that Neon Fire would take him in.

She glanced at Indigo, then back down at the kitten, feeling sad.

 

"Awww...  That's really sad...  Poor kitty," she nuzzled him closely.  "He needs someone to take him in?  I can do that, if it's not a problem."

 

She smiled, snuggling the kitten closer to her, hoping it would be okay to do so.

"Awww...  That's really sad...  Poor kitty," she nuzzled him closely.  "He needs someone to take him in?  I can do that, if it's not a problem."

 

She smiled, snuggling the kitten closer to her, hoping it would be okay to do so.

 

Indigo's heart soared and his horn glowed a bright red. "That won't be a problem at all. Won't it little one?"

The kitten mews, and Indigo smiles and giggles.

"The kitten says he loved you the moment he saw you, and that your fur is warm and soft. and I'm sure my parents won't mind either."

"Well, I have a problem... something big happened... and I can't recall much... so I've been trying to find out about the world... but I was too afraid to speak to anypony.  I wasn't liked much where I come from..."

She turned to Indigo, hoping he would be able to ask the tiny kitten another question.

 

Indigo smiles, he loved it when ponies showed kindness and compassion, he asks the kitten, "What is your name little one?"

The kitten mews, and Indigo Smiles, "He says his name is Nightstar."

Tranq picks up the pace as she moves towards town, magiking the list towards her face. "Need bugs for Nocturne." She lowers the paper and looks up. "Huh. Leaves are falling. I guess it's that time of year again. I wonder if the festivities have started yet." While looking straight up, she walks directly through the conversation between Sketch, Dark Dawn and Hidden Spark, not noticing until she hears them talk.

"Eh..." Sketch's attention suddenly got caught by the wandering Mare smack dab in the middle of their conversation.

 

"Another unicorn! Fantastic! There are so many ponies here today I just can't believe it! EXCUSE ME MISS!"

 

He called out to the other distracted Mare.

"Well, I have a problem... something big happened... and I can't recall much... so I've been trying to find out about the world... but I was too afraid to speak to anypony. I wasn't liked much where I come from..."

I was actually going to get some sweets...and..." she clears her throat trying to cover the next part "bugs" Tranq furrows her brow deeply, then summons her list to her face again, along with her quill. "That would be wonderful" Indigo says, "and my parents raised me to believe that if a pony forces or makes another pony change for them, then they don't really lo..." he was about to say love but corrects himself. "then they don't really like that other pony." He pets Nightstar, "here, hold my hoof, I can teleport us back home. oh and hold tight onto Nightstar."

His parents come out of the living room, "Just in time Indigo, we were about to leave to start the preparations." his mother says and sees the kitten,

"Who is this little adorable ball of fluff?"

"Mum, this is Nigthstar, his mother and father died last night and Neon has taken him in."

"Oh well that's nice of him," his mother looks at Neon, "miss Neon, may i speak with you in private please?"

He said apologizing. What was with him today? He seemed to be more distracted than usual, guess it was all the new faces for him. He's never been this excited before in his recent days. Guess it was good vibes all around and he'd seize it all.

 

But he must admit...there were a ton of cute mares going around today, not that he intended to take note of that from the get go.

Well he has trouble being around mares who aren't part of the family, and you were the first mare to actually show interest in him as a friend. And...and well, I saw how he feels relaxed around you, and he has been feeling quite lonely lately, and i know it is because he doesn't have a marefriend, I was just...I'm sorry." Indigo's mother goes on.

"Oh...ah...  Yeah, Zecora said something, which lead to the assumption of it, then later in the EverFree Forest he said some stuff that made me figure that.  I didn't think he would be very sensitive though, so I'll try not to do anything that would hurt him," Neon Fire replied, looking back at Nightstar and smiling.

Indigo's mother nods in understanding, "I fully understand, and it is actually good to hear that you want to get to know him more, instead of rushing into things, and I understand about the trust issues, the reason Indigo has trouble around mares is that he got badly hurt by a mare who he thought loved him, but all she did was use and cheat on him. And as with the preparations, there's the decorations that can be put up, maybe you could do some aerial maneuvers  too. Otherwise just look around and lend a helping hoof."
