@@Miss Reaper,

"But even if you're...moody...could't one just learn to...control themself?" Rocket stated starting to sob a little more. He was really upset by Galatea's lash at him. He now had to tell her the truth, that he in fact did have Aspergers, and it was hard for him to understand certain things.

@,

"I, er... Not necessarily. I mean..." Nano paused, taking longer and longer to process his answers as the conversation ventured into territory quite unfamiliar to him. "When one's emotions build up inside, eventually they erupt, so to speak, and..."

Nano's statement was left unfinished as a long moment of silence passed. The robot was left completely at a loss for what to say or do next. It frustrated him somewhat, lacking the knowledge to cope with this situation properly. There was only one way that this would be fixed.

Nano lowered his head slightly, his posture slumping somewhat as he assumed a look of defeat. "I do not know what I am talking about," he admitted. "It would be best if you went to go talk to Galatea yourself..." He didn't like it, not being able to help Rocket deal with this, but there was simply nothing the robot could do to really help matters at all.

@@Miss Reaper,

Rocket sighed and wiped the tears from his face. "Oh alright..." He stated. He feared that Galatea would still be angry at him. Therefore, he slowly entered the room and noticed Ariel with the stuffed animal. He then slowly approached Galatea, thinking about what he would say. "Galatea...?" He asked.

@, @@Mr. Critical,

Galatea sighed as she softly stroked Ariel's mane. The filly seemed so sad now, almost listless, as she stared at nothing, hugging the stuffed bear as if it were her only friend in the world. Apparently, the young unicorn had tried to cope by dismissing it all as a bad dream; but the realization that it was in fact reality hurt her almost more than that unicorn had.

Galatea stared helplessly at the filly, not knowing how to comfort her or cheer her up. The mare looked to Critic, sadness seeping into her own eyes. "I don't know what to do for her when she's like this..." She looked away for a moment, her ears flattening. "This has happened before, too... I would ask her about whatever had happened to her, why she was out on the street that night, and she would just... go silent. She'd curl up and not say a word, just like she's doing now."

It was a struggle once again to keep her emotions held back. "I just wish I knew what was wrong... If only I could, you know... make it better. But I... I can't. And I-I'm trying to be strong for the both of us, but it's... it's really hard, you know?"

Her ears instinctively perked and swiveled towards the sound of Rocket entering the room, and the sound of his voice, followed by Nano entering soon after. She turned to look at Rocket and said softly, "Yes?"

"I just want to say...I'm sorry...if I offended you. See...the thing I forgot to tell you was...that...I have something called...Aspergers...which makes it hard for me to understand some ponies. I may be a cyborg, but...I'm still like a real pony with emotions and all of that..." Rocket stated with a tear still in his eye.

Critical got up from his seat as Rocket came in. He walked over to Ariel while the other two spoke.

"No, it wasn't a dream. It was real. But luckily you have a wonderful guardian looking out for you."

Critic motions to Galatea speaking to rocket.

"You should open up a bit more to her. She really cares for you."

@@Mr. Critical, @,

Ariel stared up at Critic, still clinging to the teddy bear. Her ears were flattened against the sides of her head, and her eyes seemed so very sad. She looked as if she were considering his words for a little while, before she shook her head.

"I don't wanna," the filly said quietly. "I don't like thinking about the bad things..."

Galatea met Rocket's gaze for a brief moment before she averted her eyes. "No... I'm sorry. I know you only meant well. It's just that..." She paused, letting out a sigh. "I have been through a lot recently. And I'm not just talking about that unicorn attack. I have been trying my hardest to raise a filly that refuses to open up to me, and you have no idea how difficult it is, especially when we can't even feel safe in our own homes anymore. I have had to face so much, and I try to be strong, but..."

She trailed off for a minute as she tried to compose herself. "I try so hard, but..." The mare clenched her jaw tightly as the tears she'd been holding back flooded her eyes. "Sometimes, it seems like that's just not good enough!" she exclaimed, her voice cracking.

@@Mr. Critical,

Ariel looked down, studying the stuffed bear in her hooves. "Yeah... Galatea's really nice to me." The filly paused before she looked up at Critic once more. "A lot of ponies aren't so nice to me... Not even Mommy and Daddy. Galatea is like... like a new, nicer mommy," she said with a little smile, glancing over at Galatea, and then Nano.

"Nano's nice to me, too. Galatea told me that he could be like my big brother or something. She said that we're like a family." And with that said, Ariel did seem happy at the thought of having a family at all; she never felt like she was really part of a true family until she met Galatea and Nano.

Rocket knew right then. He went in to hug Galatea. "I know it hard Galatea. Not everypony's perfect, but we all can strive to be the best we could be. As I heard a wise pony say once "Trials and troubles may seem to us like a mountain we cannot climb. But, they are much more. They help us become stronger in all realms." Rocket stated comforting Galatea.

Critical gave a smile at Ariel, and then to Galatea and rocket. He was glad to see those two getting along again. He looked back to Ariel.

"Your family is not where you came from Ariel. It is where you choose to be that makes you happy. Remember that, Ariel. I was in the same boat you are in."

@@Mr. Critical,

"Uh-huh! I have a real family now," Ariel stated cheerily. The little filly then scrunched her muzzle for a moment as she added, "Not like my meany mommy and daddy. They said they wanted what's best for me, they were trying to help me. But they just yelled at me when I did something wrong; I told them I couldn't help it sometimes, but they just got madder..."

Ariel shook her head, as if to shake off those thoughts. "Galatea understands. And she doesn't yell at me. She takes care of me, and is nice to me. So my family is with Galatea and Nano, because I'm happy with them," she concluded, ultimately agreeing with Critic.

@,

Galatea accepted the hug, returning the gesture in kind. She closed her eyes as tears streamed down her face, and she sobbed quietly, finally releasing her emotions after she'd kept them inside for so long. She always did her best to be strong... but she had the right to have a moment of weakness every once in a while.

"Thank you," she whispered after a few moments. Rocket's words helped to remind her that while there may be hard times, you'll come out stronger in the end. It was enough to help give her back the determination she once had to continue onwards, regardless of whatever obstacles may be in the way.

Rocket contiuned to hug and comfort the sobbing Galatea. He suddenly heard Ariel saying she wanted a real family. "Your very welcome." Rocket replied. He now knew that Galatea had had a very hard life and needed all of the support. Rocket was willing to give her some of that support.

@@Miss Reaper,

Critical gave the filly a smile. He was glad to here her thoughts on Galatea. Maybe she could open up to her a little more. With that Critical patted the filly on her head, careful not to get any injured areas. He got up to stretch his legs a bit and sat back down.

"So little one. Tell me about this city. Has it always been unpleasant or did it just happen just now. Also I could use the date if you know it."

Galatea managed to compose herself after a little while, letting out a soft sigh as she wiped away her tears with one of her front hooves. She then looked at Rocket with gratitude in her eyes. In that moment, she wasn't sure what else to say other than "Thank you" again. Here, she had fallen apart, and this pony that hardly even knew her was giving much-needed support. Saying assuring words that she had needed to hear.

"You're... such a kind pony..." she said gently. "That's... not something... you see very much nowadays."

Ariel let out a slight giggle when Critic patted her head, enjoying the small gesture. Then, when he asked about the city, she tilted her head as she thought. "Umm... I don't know the date, really... But the city has been bad since I could remember. Mommy and Daddy used to tell me that it was because everypony else hated unicorns. But then Galatea said that it was the unicorns that hated everypony else..."

The little filly's brow furrowed as she thought harder. "I guess everypony just hates everypony around here... " she thought aloud, frowning a little. "I don't know why, though... I wish everypony could just be friends."

"That's what ponies around here seem to miss about me. See, there was quite a bit of prejudice against cyborgs due to the fact that most cyborgs are evil, which isn't true. There are good cyborgs out there. But they are extremely rare." Rocket stated continuing to hug Galatea.

"Believe me, the ponies around here are just... generally mistrusting," Galatea said with a humorless smile. "I know you're good. And, well, hey... Some ponies were pretty wary of Nano. I mean, androids are generally considered to be emotionless machines. That... that's not the case, though. I did everything possible to make sure Nano would be able to have emotions."

She paused for just a moment, tilting her head slightly in thought. "He does have emotions, you know. He's just... not quite all that familiar with them just yet."

"The princesses aren't here," Ariel said somewhat somberly. "Princess Luna went to places outside the city, trying to make sure things don't get bad out there like they are here. And Princesses Celestia and Twilight went away to find a way to make things better here."

The filly looked down at the stuffed bear once more, twiddling one of its paws between her hooves for a little while. "So, there's no one here to rule Equestria right now... But, Galatea told me that the Princesses would come back someday. And when they come back, everything will be better."

@@Miss Reaper,

Apparently the Sun Slayer hasn't struck yet.

"Hm. Well, Lulu is on top of things. Only wish I knew where Tia and Twilight had gone. And what of the Crystal empire? Is Princess Cadence still around?"

One of the royal family had to be here. He knew that Tia would be back. But, he kind of wished she wouldn't. But that would have to wait for another time. With the princesses gone, the world has once more fallen into hate and prejudice once more.

Galatea slowly nodded her head in agreement at first, but then perked her ears when Rocket mentioned possibly helping Nano. "You could do that?"

She glanced over at Nano. He was standing in the corner, his head lowered and his eyes darkened. By this point, he had gone into sleep mode to conserve energy, though he would easily wake at Galatea's command. "I'm sure he would appreciate it... He seems as if he gets a little frustrated sometimes because he can't express emotions like normal ponies do. Hm... Oh, but just spending time with him would help, too. He's programmed to adopt a personality trait or two from the ponies around him to integrate into his own personality." She smiled, seeming a little proud of how she'd managed to program such an intuitive feature into her cherished creation.

Ariel stopped to think about the answer, trying to remember. "Princess Cadence is really busy taking care of the Crystal Empire." After another brief pause, the filly smiled up at Critic. "I've never really seen any of the princesses before, but I bet they're really pretty. I heard that Princess Luna's mane is all sparkly, like stars! And Princess Celestia has a mane like a pretty rainbow. Oh, and I also heard that they're really tall! Taller than grown-up ponies!"

"They are actually. They are taller than I am, but only by a bit. Tia is really sweet. She speaks in a motherly tone, I rarely saw her frown in anger. Lulu is a bit stern, but she is fun to have around."
Critical began to remember the time with his friends back home.

"They were really fun to be around. LIke kids in large bodies. You'd probably like them."

Ariel stared up at Critic for a few moments, and then her large eyes doubled in size when she realized something. "You met the princesses?!" she gasped.

Without waiting for either confirmation or denial of the conclusion, she continued speaking excitedly. "That's so neat!" In her excitement, the filly forgot her injuries for a few moments as she sprang up onto her hooves - only to receive a painful reminder that she was indeed hurt. She toppled over onto her injured side, whimpering as that brought only more pain.

"O-Oops..." she said softly, a few tears forming in her eyes as she immediately hugged the stuffed bear tight for comfort.
