Yes, the comics confirm this, though in the comics, Babs Seed is older than AJ in the EQG universe. 4. There isn't one. I believe the cutie marks are just a representation of who they are, similar to a royal seal, watermark, signature, or symbol. Once the person realizes their "special talent", they either design the mark themselves or it appears somewhere such as in a dream.
