Embers smiled and nodded "Alrighty then" He said as he looked back at his own sword, wondering why it was thinking about it now "Huh, so you said that there were 3 other ponys?" He asked as he looked back out into the town, and to the boat that they were walking too

Shadow decided it was time to follow the group again, trying to hide his frustration at the still permanent loss of most of his magic, even trying his hardest he was only able to let off sparks of light, even less than he could when he was a filly!

 

Do any of the others know this thing is sentient? He wondered to himself as he followed the group towards the ship, almost stumbling over something from simple lack of interest. Might want to keep it to myself... For now.

 

Noticing how difficult it was to walk and carry a shard in one of your hooves, Shadow tried to convince the Sunshard to turn back into a bracer through his mind, it would be easier to have it both in his sight and near him at all times after-all.

 

The image was a rather simple representation of a pony carrying a shard in one hoof and stumbling, before the shard turned into a bracer again, allowing him to walk at a much easier pace but still keep an eye on it.

The voice in Lightwing's head was sharp, "don't call me 'thing', refer to me as 'great one' or 'your majesty'! I get to judge you cause I've met countless others to compare you to and I find you wanting. I'm done speaking with you. Humph!" And with that noise of distaste the presence was gone from her mind.

 

Famine spoke to Embers, "they aren't ponies or diamond dogs or any other creatures. We're just weapons, that diamond dog you fought was just my last wielder; she had been with me so many centuries she finally just gave up and went brain dead on me, so I just controlled her body."

The shard understood Shadow's message and formed back up onto his forehoof. It also had sensed his frustration and observed the attempts at magic, so once firmly attached to him again it let his magic flow back into him. It didn't relinquish it entirely, though this was only because at some small point his magic and it's own magic had mingled and it wasn't sure how to separate the two.

Wanderlust's words were muffled as he took a rope in his mouth and tried to speak around it, "jus ache sir teh ale is oothe uring its rise." He pulled on the rope in his mouth and the sail started to rise up the mast.

Luna had reached the boat and took it in appreciatively. But then started to look around concerned, her daughters weren't here and she was a little worried by that fact.

"Humph!Like I could spend my precious time with a thing like you!I could help my friends!!!"

She looked at Embers again,and how he was talking to his sword.On that moment,she talked again to that entity

"Ok...You have one good thing.You're not crazy like that sword..."

Steel put Astrid on the boat below deck to sleep then he flew back over to Luna " I'll see if I can find them" steel said he gave Luna a quick kiss not caring about who saw then took flight in search of the missing fillies he hoped he'd bendable to find them quickly

Embers laughed as he looked at his sword "Well, Thats intoresting, I thought that the dog was you, so you had its mind" He said with a shrug as he turned back to lightwing, raising an eye as he did "Hey lightwing, who the heck are you talking to, the air?" He asked her

There was a suppressed snort and stifled laughter from the voice followed by a long pause as the strange entity debated with itself whether or not to stand by saying it no longer wanted to talk to her, final it decide that it did want to add, "my mare you have no idea how right you are."

Luna sent a mental message to Steel as he left, 'I'm going to go search too, they are my duaghters. Let me know if you find them, and I'll let you know if I find them too. This way we'll cover more ground." She started off in a different direction than Steel, she was sure the fillies would be alright, they had become so strong but still she worried.

Embers looked down at the sword with a raised eyebrow "Wait, so your telling me that you can make your owner live longer?" He said with a grin as he glanced back up at lightiwing, having no idea what she was doing. He then glanced back at his sword "I still really like you"

Famine now sounded a little uncertain and remorseful, "Y-y-yeah, my w-wielder can only d-die by another's attack or m-my own power. Y-y-you won't get old or s-sick, the only r-reason L-l-lassie went brain dead is cause s-she was so tried of l-living a-a-and b-begged me to let her r-rest. S-so we struck a d-deal so she got t-to s-sleep forever and I g-got a b-body so I wouldn't b-be completely a-alone. Embers chuckled as he looked over at his sword with a shrug "Naw, I dont think I can ever get bored, at least not of you" He said with a laugh as he glanced another time at lightwing, shaking his head he walked over to her and looked at her "Hey lightwing, are you feeling OK?"

"Hmm...Maybe you're more educated that I've thought,er..."

But then,she came back to the reality and she heard Embers calling her name.

"Huh??What!What happens?"

Then she noticed that Embers was really calling her name

After a walk which took less time than he had originally anticipated, Shadow saw and began to inspect the ship which the others appeared to be working on.

 

"So we're using this thing to get to the Griffon Kingdoms correct?" He was no expert on these things, but he had a feeling that this thing as not in the best condition it could be "Everypony sure it's in a good enough state to get us there in one piece?"

She watched carefully, hopping up in alarm whenever the sail was about to bunch. Whisper was enthralled simply by watching the cloth rise and slowly billow into the air, her ears swiveled at the sound and she laughed happily.

Wanderlust secured the rope as the sail reached the top of the mast, the wind started to catch and the ship strained against it's mooring lines. He looked over to Shadow, "she a bit beaten and weathered," he tapped his hoof on the deck, "but she the best looking boat I see here. It's a bit strange actually, last time I was in a port town they had at least a few that should have survived all the chaos better than this old one." He shrugged shaking his head, "but everyone come on board I'll show you all the basics for steering and control, I'll need everyone else to understand it..." His face reddened, "... I uh, I get pretty sea sick."

Luna found the Fillies together with the mare from earlier, Candela she believed her name had been as well as with another Mare and the two looked as if they might be related. She sent a mental message to Steel, 'I found them and we're heading back to the ship.' She trotted over to them and after brief introductions they followed her back to the harbor and the waiting boat.

-alright I'm heading back- steel thought to her as he banked and started for the boat upon arrival he smiled as he seen Luna he walked and stood by her not knowing what to do

Grell got mom the boat and awaited instructions on how to steer and control the boat

Embers hoped onto the boat and looked around, smiling. He had only been on a boat once or twice, so this was something fairly new to him. He walked around the ship for awhile before looking over at his sword "So, what do you think about this nice ol ship?" He chuckled

Lightwing jumped too to the boat and then sat down.On that moment,she started to think about who could be that entity that talked with her before

"Mmmm..."

On that moment,she saw for a brief moment another blue spark on the spear's pike.Then,she knew what was going on

"Oh sweet...The spear is alive!!!"

But then,she quickly stood up,and thinked for herself,or better said,to the spear

"Who are you exactly,spear?"

Luna ushered her fillies and the mares on to the boat and then moved to stand beside Steel, Wanderlust was already explaining how to steer the ship.

 

"We've got a large enough ship here that we steer the ship with a wheel, so that actually makes things a little simpler, you spin the wheel to the left the ship will go left and vise versa. If you look up above us on top of the mast there is a wind vane, that little arrow up there, it will move about and point whichever the wind is blowing; also up there are two red metal markers we want to keep the arrow always pointing between those markers, as long as we do that we'll have wind in our sails. We want to keep the ship headed due east, which we have a compass to direct us, also since the moon has stopped moving we can us it as well as long as it's directly behind us we're on a good course. Now I think we're ready to cast off."

 

At his words Luna undid the mooring ropes with her magic and the ship lurched as it caught the wind and started to sail east. Wanderlust swayed with the ships lurch and instantly started looking less comfortable.

Famine was silently pouting, she had seen how excited Embers had gotten at receiving his new sword and she had sensed some sort of intelligence in it; she had decided to handle her jealousy by giving him the silent treatment.

 

The spear briefly flashed yellow in slight annoyance, "well you figured it out, yes I am the Spear. And not just any spear, THEE Spear, a spear better than all other spears, better than all other weapons. You should worship me, for I have single handedly won wars and slain armies, you are unworthy of knowing my true name but as I said before you may call me 'your Majesty' or 'your Highness'."

(Just as a note Conquest is heavily influenced by Excalibur in the Soul Eater series )

Steel listened to wonder as he explained how to sail the ship and nodded at the end he smiled at Luna -we should go sleep since Astrid will want me up and I'll want you up with me- steel thought to Luna hoping she'd say yes

Grell sat down and wated the water as best he could

Luna smiled at Steel, nodded and spoke aloud addressing everyone on the boat "We should all sleep in shifts, Astrid is already asleep below deck so Steel and I are going to go join her for the first shift. We'll switch off as we need too and keep most of the group awake, alert and tending the ship." Without waiting for response she headed for the cabin and descended down to the sleeping quarters, she paused once in the room though and stood with a bit of a blush on her face, she hadn't been present when the boat had been chosen or investigated and hadn't known there was only two beds.

Steel followed Luna and would have blushed but he but he didn't for some odd reason he hadn't noticed there was only two beds "oh well if you' want since somepony will come down here to wake us I'll sleep on the floor or with Astrid on my back she loves to sleep there anyways" steel said

Embers was testing out his new sword, he had used his sunshard before, but not as such a well crafted sword. He smiled as he walked back over to his OTHER sword, sitting down next to her and looking at it "So, whats wrong with you?" He said with a sigh and shake of his head
