(i'm not sure if this topic is in the right place, but aw well.)

well lately i have saw that smosh did a article thing on bronies. I was reading it, and mostly the way through it i was facepalming.

go check these out:

What i don't get is this quote right here "So you like to bang out on baby cartoon horse butts?" I mean come'on not all bronies do this "well speaking R34". I don't like R34, it mostly makes feel sick and uncomfortable. So it isn't my "Cup of tea".

Let's get back to the article shall we. So they seem to actually do a lot of stereotyping. Saying "Bronies" meaning the Group that we all in are people that like R34. I'm not disrespecting the people that like that stuff, it's just eck....."

Would you say the smosh articles are discriminating Bronies?

It mostly makes it worse. Since they are a popular youtube channel and multiple more (just why?!) But yea it's the youtube channel chain, if a famous youtuber makes it there fans seem to believe it. It's rather idiotic.

^ A lot like that dosh Toss-o (i can't remember, but it was something along those lines)? douchebag one on cloppers...

Also there is a PMRants video that features Smosh, it's the top 10 worst youtube channels

These articles were written by a Michael McCollor on the Smosh website. His views do not reflect those of Smosh, which consists of Anthony Padilla, Ian Hecox, and Mari Takahashi.

In fact, Smosh lampoons bronies in an apparently neutral light, as acting Ian is shown to be a brony, and also a retard; while real Ian is shown in a Lunchtime with Smosh episode performing his brony impression over the phone to a pizza place.

Eh, I could really care less what two unfunny morons have to stereotype. The sad thing is that they have a good bit of followers who will believe every single thing they will say.

Whoa whoa whoa guys, look at what they are actually saying. They are saying that they think it's ridiculous that Jerry Springer is even trying to get attention out of this. They are saying that it's dead obvious they just want a controversial story for the sake of entertainment. They are even saying that the bronies who do enjoy the R34 junk are far from the weirdest thing in the world. We all know that people like that creep who thinks he is ACTUALLY married to Twilight Sparkle that appeared last year exist in every fandom and the media always exploits them for shock value.

But read what is being said, specifically about guys who play Mega Man 2. Bronies don't need positive exposure and they don't need negative exposure. We could simply be guys who watch a cartoon. We don't need a "lifestyle" tacked onto it. Anything done on these kinds of shows is not a personal attack on you or I, but merely just for shock value. The reason shows  even have interest in doing stories like this is because: They know bronies will react.

You guys realize by getting your jimmies rustled like this, you are giving them the reaction they want, right?

I know completely. But they are not here. :L so it's perfectly fine to release out actions here i suppose.

eh my 'jimmies' weren't exactly rustled, i just find it stupid that people will attack anything just to get attention, and it is kind of pathetic how so many people like Smosh's BS antics... That was my opinion even before this thread... nothing they do was ever funny IMO

They raise a good point though. Why do we need to get up and arms when people don't like bronies? I personally am not a brony at all, just a fan of the show. I don't get upset when people don't like something I like, I just let them not like it and carry on. The problem is that bronies take it as a personal attack and they really shouldn't. What happened to that love and tolerate nonsense that was always uttered? Why not just choose not to care and let Smosh have their laugh and not give a damn? I know I don't. I never watched Smosh before, and I probably will not start, nor do I care what they have to say. Not because they say mean things about a show I like, but because I can just choose not to even care they exist because their content isn't entertaining to me.

You guys have to understand one thing: they are out to entertain. Bronies overreacting creates great entertainment, so it's better to just not care.

But they were successful. They got you to notice and they got you to talk about them. You posting those articles here got more people to read them. I certainly had not read them until you posted them. So you just aided in giving them more attention.

Do you see what I mean about not caring? There is a difference between saying you don't care and actually not caring.

I guess, you are right there.

My friend once asked me why did the creators of Haruhi Suzumiya do the Endless 8 saga. It was regarded as possibly one of the most annoying things in anime history. Redoing the same episode 8 times with minor dialogue changes and perspective changes. People were pissed off about it for weeks.

However: It got people talking about it. It attracted more attention to the show than the first season did, and it definitely got it on almost every major anime news site. It was a bold move, but it worked.

The point is; that sometimes if you want to make a big splash the easiest way is to make an unpopular decision. Smosh knows bronies will react, thus why it's good to pick on them. Remember in the entertainment industry there really is no such thing as bad publicity. Bad rep can still attract eyes, and advertising companies can find a way to turn those views into sales. Remember that Smosh mostly get paid by ad revenue. Every time you view their site, or watch a video of their's they are getting paid one way or another; even if you have adblock on. So if you get paid by how much attention you get, what are you going to do? Do everything you can to get the most attention possible.

If someone says something that is just malicious and/or ignorant, and you know better, just ignore them!

They clearly don't understand, and most aren't worth correcting!

Just ignore them and do what you do B)

In this thread...

One guy from a Fragmented/Unorganized Collective of Kids with Web/Internet Tendencies (henceforth referred to as FUCKWITs) ridicules members of another group (you can guess their name) and jimmies are rustled.

Oh, the humanity.
