zev_zev The outcast 415 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 I created this topic that would dot the "i" To once and for all put an end to the lies and discover for yourselves the truth. I didn't find the answers in series. There was no any proof of things what I'll write here: 1. Why people thinks that Lyra wants to be a human? 2. Why people thinks that Derpy and Dr. Whoves are couple? (some bronies even thinks that Derpy has a daughter) 3. Why people thinks that Derpy is a postman? 4. Why people call Derpy Ditzy Doo. It's a different characters! Ditzy Doo was a pegasi with purple mane from "Whinter wrap-up" episode. At the moment this is all that interests me. Thanks for attention. Waiting for your answers
Delernil 952 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 1. She sat human-like in one episode 2. Derpy Hooves and Doctor Whooves. See? They've been seen together and with Dr. Whooves in many episodes, and the daughter had Derpys colors 3. I dunno 4. I hate that too 3 I only love you platonically. As in plate tectonics. As in two bodies sliding against each other. <3 -Makusu
zev_zev The outcast 415 January 20, 2014 Author Share January 20, 2014 1. She sat human-like in one episode I't's not the proof that she wants to be a human. She technically can't know anything about humans. 2. Derpy Hooves and Doctor Whooves. See? They've been seen together and with Dr. Whooves in many episodes, and the daughter had Derpys colors Didn't see, sorry.
LunaUmbra 108 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 I't's not the proof that she wants to be a human. She technically can't know anything about humans. Remember this is all fanon stuff. Sometimes there is little sense or reason for things being seen a certain way, such as Lyra's human obsession. 1 *Signature courtesy of Pink Mist. zev_zev The outcast 415 January 20, 2014 Author Share January 20, 2014 Oh! Almost forgot. Maybe I'm a slowpoke, but where in the series mentioned last name of Derpy - "Hooves"?
Guest January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 3. Why people thinks that Derpy is a postman? To be fair the comics have shown her to be one, though this may be because of fan pressure.
LunaUmbra 108 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 Oh! Almost forgot. Maybe I'm a slowpoke, but where in the series mentioned last name of Derpy - "Hooves"? They don't. At least not to my knowledge. Maybe in the comics... 3. I am 90% sure of this, but it has been a while. There was an episode where she was with a parcel service, and ended up dropping something on Rainbow Dash. Somepony please confirm. There was the episode where Twilight follows Pinkie around and Derpy drops a set of objects on her head. That what you're thinking of? *Signature courtesy of Pink Mist. Scootalove 10,689 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 1. Lyra was sitting in a position that ponies wouldn't sit in, so that is how we could relate to her when it comes to the fanon. 2. Because a lot of people say that Doctor Whooves reminds them of Doctor Who, so the fandom took advantage by shipping them together. 3. I think Feeling Pinkie Keen can answer that question. 4. I think they had to call her by something. 1 Credit: Moony © Forum FAQ Forum Rules
zev_zev The outcast 415 January 20, 2014 Author Share January 20, 2014 In General the only thing I understood is that you, my friends may believe in one, and I may believe anything else but only not this, because excuse me, but I didn't got convincing evidence. DubWolf 17,347 January 20, 2014 Share January 20, 2014 1.) This is because Lyra was sitting upright like a human on a bench in episode 7 of season 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrTERPzpU1E (skip to 2:19) 2.) I believe this started out with the Doctor Whooves and Assistant storyline (after watching Doctor Who, I assume she represented Rose Tyler). 3.) Not too sure. I think delivery has to do with the fact that she dropped a piano on Twilight, so people gave her that occupation? 4.) Are you sure that's really Ditzy Doo? I always thought Ditzy Doo was the grey pegasus we all know and love, later given the name Derpy since see seemed rather silly. TheSupremeLeaderOfChaos 1,210 January 21, 2014 Share January 21, 2014 1: Literally the only reason for this fanon is the way Lyra was sitting. I guess someone proposed the idea that she was copying a human, which led to the idea that she studied humans, which led to the idea that she was obsessed with them. No true reason, but really, does there have to be a reason? 2: Derpy has been shown around the Doctor several times, and her scheme is reminiscent of Rose Tyler from Doctor Who, and the Doctor and Rose had a relationship. Or at least, would have, but that's besides the point... *cries* Yeah, no proof, but it's just fanon. Derpy's daughter was around her several times, and she has a similar color scheme. 3: In feeling Pinkie Keen, Derpy is clearly one of the shippers that drops the furniture on Twi's head. Incoming fanon = She's a postmare. 4: Actually, they never showed the pony they referred to as Ditsy Doo. The actual catalogue of pony names has Derpy as Ditsy Doo. It's on the Hasbro-issued cards. So, yeah, Derpy is Ditsy Doo. Lastly, sorry for being so late to the party. I started typing this hours ago, but was interrupted before I could finish. Hence why I'm replying now. hawkflame 3,310 January 21, 2014 Share January 21, 2014 Oh! Almost forgot. Maybe I'm a slowpoke, but where in the series mentioned last name of Derpy - "Hooves"? She wasn't. She was named Derpy Hooves by the fandom *long* before she was even named at all in the show. In fact, her name was written to be "Derpy" in The Last Roundup *because* that's what the fans named her. It seems you don't quite get the idea of "fanon". 2 Sig by Thunderstorm Check out my Rarity fansite!
Moonlight 7,288 January 21, 2014 Share January 21, 2014 1. Because of the way Lyra sat in an episode: 2. They're seen in scenes together often and some whovians believes the Doctor (in this case, Doctor Whooves), needs a 'bubbly' partner. Dinky also has Derpy's colors. 3. She was seen "delivering" things in the Feeling Pinkie Keen episode: 4. Derpy's original name was Ditzy Doo until the show made the name Derpy Hooves canon for the fans to enjoy. 1 matching setups with my bff pathfinder
Bendy 1,821 January 21, 2014 Share January 21, 2014 Two words: fan fiction. This is fan stuff so it has no effect on the show what's so ever. zev_zev The outcast 415 January 21, 2014 Author Share January 21, 2014 (edited) It seems you don't quite get the idea of "fanon". I just thought that the fans have no influence on the TV show. It turns out that the name "Derpy" which was invented by fans, was announced as the official name of this character? 2. They're seen in scenes together Didn't saw any. 3. She was seen "delivering" things in the Feeling Pinkie Keen episode: Well, it's means that she is (or was) a courier, not postman, right? 4. Derpy's original name was Ditzy Doo until the show made the name Derpy Hooves canon for the fans to enjoy. So in "Winter wrap-up" Gray pegasi with purple mane, and with ussual eyes, was Derpy? hawkflame 3,310 January 21, 2014 Share January 21, 2014 Well, it's means that she is (or was) a courier, not postman, right? Again, it's called "fanon". Fans made up the idea that she was a postal worker, and that idea just caught on within the fandom. 1 Sig by Thunderstorm Check out my Rarity fansite!
