Ambiance barely saw a thing with Renegade's helmet on her head. She could tell he cared about her. Despite his pain, he was doing so much, just to comfort her.

 

"Th-tha-th-that would..." She hung her head in shame. She had never even held a weapon before. She didn't think she would have the heart to use it on anypony, no matter what they tried to do. "I-i'll try..."

 

She truly wished to help, but failure would end in death. She didn't know if she could handle it. Despite her worry, she gave a warm smile through the oversized helm.

 

She pulled off the helmet, placing it on the ground just before renegade, and rested her head on Renegade's shoulder, gently closing her eyes.

"He wouldn't have made you do anything dangerous if you asked him" The wolf said. "He mostly does the dangerous work while any one he would recruit works with Gem Shine and her assistant and speak through the Codex, You both would be okay with them while Sol did most of the dangerous work and making sure to keep the heat mostly on him all the time" The wolf added

Patterson considered everything that the wolf had said.

 

Pat: 'Hmm, if I were to go, River could be safe with them...'

 

When they got home, River went in and put everything away that had they bought while in town.

 

"Thanks. I have a feeling that we might be seeing each other again. ( He said to Bladewolf.)

River, I want you to pack some necessities in case we need to go in a hurry, we must be on our guard at all times now."

"Until I get a call from Sol I'm not supposed to leave" Bladewolf said as he activated AR vision. He looked around the forest for anyone dangerous.

 

 

Equinox/Sol kept quiet as he waited and listened. "Who ever the spy was lookiing for she will be found" Equinox/Sol said

Shadow watched as Renegade and Firelight started to train their respective students. It wasn't the best on Firelight's part but it was a ver unique style of fighting that even Shadow hadn't seen. Shadow took this opportunity to relax and pulled out a map it wasn't very well done. Most ponies stayed away from the Dark Valley including the Peackeepers, that knowledge didn't make this any better. They were still a day away from the mountain and to make matters worse they didn't know if they were being followed. For now at least they were safe and could train the mares to protect themselves. Shadow looked around again, they were completely surrounded by rocks and Shadow could see red eyes watching them. Shadow kept it to himself, the barrier he put up would keep them safe for now but should the monsters get brave enough it wouldn't help much.

Patterson had lost his appetite when dinner came around, and he stayed up late long after River went to bed. He finally fell asleep around 1:00, where he tossed and turned for a long while.

Meanwhile, at the entrance to the forest...

 

Peacekeeper 1: "This must be important to be sending us at 3:00 in the morning."

 

Pk 2: "This had better be important to be sending us at 3:00 in the morning."

 

General: "Shut UP, you two! This is a stealth mission, we must find that hideout without being detected, and if you two imbeciles give us away, missing a night of sleep will be the least of your worries. Now not another word out of anypony!"

 

And with that, they journeyed deep into the forest in hopes of finding the rebel's hideout, to deal with him smoothly and swiftly.

Bladewolf had his AR vision on and kept his eyes out. Nothing could try to sneak up because he would hear it and he would see them even in shadows. Going against a UG who was made for stealth and for finding hidden enemies was his specialty. "Scanning area for hostile enemies" He prowled around the base with camo on so he wouldn't be seen

As the party continued their thorough search through the dark forest, the greedy tag-along catches up to the general.

 

Thug: (in a whispering tone) "So uh, I don't suppose that now would be a good time to discus-"

 

General: "So you noticed." (The general cut him off)

 

"So how big of a bounty does-"

 

"Does everypony here want us to fail on our mission?!? (He tries to keep down his voice and his temper) Now you keep that lip buttoned before I give us away!

 

Then one of the peacekeepers splits off toward a large hill to investigate.

Equinox smirked as he was following them the whole time. "Guess it's time" He said as his visor closed and AR vision activated and he snuck through the forest till he got behind the Peacekeeper that is alone. "He drew Muramasa and stabbed the man through his heart and covered his mouth.

Firelight couldn't help grinning as he trained his marefriend. She was a very fast learner. She picked up what he taught he pretty easily. He soon moved on to teaching her how to hold a blade. She again picked up pretty fast. If she continued at this rate, she would be fairly dangerous fairly fast. The only thing he couldn't teach her was strength and speed. That would have to come with time. Until then, she was at a disadvantage.

Shadow continued watching Firelight train Sky. He was decently surprised at how fast she was picking up her lessons, he could only hope that Ambiance could do the same. One of the monsters decided to be bold enough to try and attack them and was met with the barrier. Shadow watched as the monster burst into flames screaming in pain and horror. The barrier did its trick keeping anything out including any kind of projectiles. "She's learning fast Firelight she'll be very deadly in no time."

Patterson woke up again, he just couldn't sleep very well. He heard a bit of commotion going on outside, but figured it was probably just Bladewolf. He tried to fall asleep once again.

General: "Ugh, it must be LR. He's always running off or breaking protocol, trying to be the hero. Try to find his signal again!"

Equinox sheathed Muramasa and activated some odd armblade as he kept quiet and came up behind another PK. Covering the PKs mouth he shoved the armblade through the pony. He then picked up something and crushed it. "Two down...a few more to go" He said as he continued to hunt them down

Firelight smiled slightly and sky beamed at the praise. She was trying very hard. But now she was tired. She didn't have the endurance yet that Firelight had. Noticing this, the crimson stallion ended the practice and walked closer to his marefriend. "Good job. We'll make a fighter out of you yet. But right now we should sleep. She nodded and they walked together over to the fire and cuddled up for warmthl

Shadow smiled as he watched the couple walked over to the fire. It was a welcome sight for Shadow, that amidst all of this chaos and destruction there was still love that could blossom. "I'll take the first watch for the first 3 hours. You guys get some rest." Shadow walked the perimeter, he wasn't about to let anypony or anything get to them. Luckily the monsters that were circling them had backed off for now. The barrier that Shadow had up was doing its job and was keeping the monsters out, he could only imagine what kind of twisted things were out there waiting for them.

PK3: "Uh sir, we've just lost another signal, both were lost close to the same place."

 

The general was suspicious now.

 

General: "Hmm, let us investigate, but stay together this time."

 

They all head over towards the same hill, except for the thug, who stays hiding behind a tree. Then he notices a small glimmer of light over on the very far side of the large hill. He pulls out a gun with a scope to look closer.

Patterson just couldn't fall back to sleep, he went to the kitchen to get a snack, when he looked over at River's room and the door was wide open. He looked at the bathroom door. No, the bathroom door was open. He went to River's favorite spot in the house, which was the above storage space where the only window on the house was. She was looking out the open window at what stars she could spot in between the leafy roof of the forest. Pat came up behind her and put his arm around her.

 

Pat: "Couldn't sleep either?"

 

River: "I guess I've been worried. About this stallion who has decide to help us, about who could be trying to track us down...about you. This has all been hard on you, with all these decisions you have to make, and worrying about me all the time..."

 

"You have made it many times easier for me."

 

They sat together looking through the window. Then Patterson becomes very much alarmed upon spotting an object flying directly towards the window.

 

"MOVE!!"

 

He threw River as far away from the window as he could and tried to cover her as much as possible, as the projectile exploded right in front of the window.

Thug: "He he, mistimed it a little, but nopony could survive a blast that close. Oh colt, just wait till they find out that I found him, and killed him, all by myself."

 

A little ways away the general heard the blast and immediately turned to the direction from whence it came.

Equinox was behind the thug and stabbed the thug once before turning him around and slit his neck before stabbing him. He saw one more PK soldier and one of the generals. "Bladewolf theres a general and a PK soldier get them out of there now" Equinox sent the message

 

 

 

Blade wolf got the message after the explosion and went towards them. "Are you two alright" Bladewolf asked

"Peacekeeper squad Alpha report!, damn it there's radio silence this can't be good"

"Bravo! Tell Echo to search for Alpha we can't risk casualties on this mission"

Firelight's ears swiveled and his eyes twitched. Something wasn't right. He slowly got up and walked calmly over to Shadow. He sat next to him and asked quietly "Do you feel that? Something isn't right here." He tried to be as subtle as possible, tying not to give them away.

From the aftermath, Patterson slowly tries to stand, as the debris slides off of his back.

 

Pat: "Oooh, (He groaned) River!"

 

He looked down at River, hoping that she was alright. 

 

River: "I-I'm alright" (She responded)

 

Patterson turned to Bladewolf. his abrasions and flesh wounds sealing up as he speaks

 

"We're fine."

 

Upon saying this his tech suit appears from under his coat and envelopes him. Once finished his eyepieces turn on illuminated with a light blue glow.

 

"Your wheelchair has been totaled, can you manage?"

 

"Yes" 

 

She replied, and using her telekinesis, she controls her paralysed hind legs. 

 

"That settles it, I don't think we have much choice. River, Get your stuff, we're leaving. Hurry!"

Sol and I can handel the remaining you guys go" With the said Wolf left the area and saw one of the generals. Wolf scanned the general. "General. Hex Blade of the Peacekeepers. Excels in stealth, combat, and survival, He is one of many high ranked generals. Also know as the Wind of Despair" Wolf said as Equinox appeared. "So...you must be a general" Equinox said

Shadow looked back at Firelight when he made the mention of something not being right. Shadow smiled and started laughing, keeping a smile on his face he talked in a serious and quiet tone. "Yeah I know that's kinda why I put up the barrier so that nothing could get to us. I'm not sure what's out there but it could be anything from the crazy mutated monsters to my worst nightmare...Peacekeepers." Shadow did all this talking while keeping his cool and making it look like he was having a pleasant conversation with Firelight.

General: "Well, you must be a good-for-nothing rebel scumbag. I don't believe I have had the pleasure, but it will be your last..."

Patterson and River left the building, and knocked out a Peacekeeper near the entrance. Patterson saw Equinox preparing to fight the general, and the remaining Peacekeepers. He threw his holographic shield so that it hit one of the peacekeepers and bounced off to the next ones in a chain, leaving only the general.

 

((OOC: Since Patterson/SSMan created the holo shield he can also control its flight path. Just to clarify.))

Renegade smiled at her in the softest of ways,his cheeks a soft pink color as he softly pet her mane for a few minutes before looking up to his friends,he then looked to Ambiance,"ok sweetheart...time to start our training...I might be in a lot of pain,but I can still fight..."he said softly before helping her up and giving her a sheathed sword,he handed it to her and said in a kind tone,"As soon as you become familiar with any kind of sword,there are two things you must know...one,a sword,knife,gun,and any 'weapon' is just a tool...and two,any tool if an extension of your body...therefore,take as good of care of your weapon as you do of your body,but,now,the easiest way to teach you my 'Berserk' style,as I call it,you must know how to use two swords fluidly...here,"he picks her up on her back hooves,stepping behind her and putting the sheathed swords in her hooves,he smiled and started to move her arms in a slow,fluid,yet strong manor,he looked down at her legs and said,"Ok,first thing to do in this 'Recklessness' stance is to keep your legs spread out far,keep your upper body low,and your arms close to your body,here."he said,he keeled down and spread her legs far apart,he bent her body slightly,and pulled her arms in just a little more,he then slightly twisted her hooves to make an X with the swords,he smiled and said to her,"Now,the first thing you do in a fight is?...that's right,always,ALWAYS strike first...if you fear your opponent's counter attack,then you will never ever win a fight,and sometimes,that may result in death of yourself,or your loved ones...I had to learn the hard way..."he said,his face showed a slight bit of sadness and his voice had the same before he shook his head,"But that's a story for another time."
