Was Celestia an insomniac during the time she had to move both sun and moon?

Considering Celestia's horn isn't constantly glowing, it has to be assumed that she only moves the sun at intervals. But unless she could program her magic to go off while she's asleep, then when did Celestia find time to sleep in the 1000 years she had to move both the sun and moon?

I think raise and lower are better ways of expressing what she and Luna do. They wind the clock but they don't keep running.

For me, I'm assuming that Princess Celestia or Luna channels magic into the moon/sun, to keep it moving. But of course it isn't constant as seen in the show, but its like a battery. Princess Celestia charges up the battery that keeps the moon moving. But that's my head canon.

Well, I think it depends on how long it takes to raises both sun and moon. If it only took Celestia, an hour to move the moon and didn't have to raise the sun until 5 or 6, then she would have plenty of time to sleep.

It depends on how long it takes for Celestia to raise the sun and lower the moon, so it all comes down on the time taken when she does that.
