Been posting alot of crap lately so i put my greatest effort into this DNB track.

I dont own any of the Dialogue/Vocals used in this track! ITS OWNED BY HASBRO!

Unfortunately, I'm not getting that feel of "serenity". All I got was a drum and bass feel to it. It had too much repetition and not enough variance, which is a MAJOR thing when it comes to making music. Try alternating the beat a little and make smoother transitions.

 

I felt the Rainbow Dash clips were out of place. Honestly, this piece could go without these audio clips as they enter in all of a sudden. Also, the repetition of the sound clips degraded this piece.

 

You need to work on your composition skills, as it seems to me you really rushed this piece, for there was only one thing I liked and that was the middle. Better yet, I can help you hone your skills a bit.

This isn't my genre of music so I have trouble getting into it, but I wouldn't say it's as bad as 1/10... really I wouldn't. It's not a type of music I can get into , but I was able to listen to it, so it can't be overtly bad.

 

I'd like to give you a critique, but I really can't judge with this kind of music.

First of all you shouldn't regard this as "crap" . Consider this a working progress that just needs a bit more attention to develop your full potential. 

 

While listening to this, I felt that there could have been a chance to change the beat/volume at around about 40s. As thunder dash mentioned before, about the repetition, lack of variation and the sudden audio clips, I agree with him on those points. I did enjoy it from 2.30 on wards which was a good way to end this piece. 

 

May I kindly ask if I could add this to my music playlist?

Complextro at 128bpm, dubstep, some catchy ghetto funk? Maybe it's a good start to make it in a genre that people dont think is bad.

If you make music, you put your soul in it to make it good. The listeners listen, but they don't dictate.

What I'm trying to write is, you are the one deciding on the genre, and not the ones who listen to it.

It's not about what kind of song you make, it's about how you make it.

There is no such thing as a good or bad genre. (but it is true that everyone has different tastes, so get used to the fact that not everyone will like the music you make )

 

Now, about this piece:

It's definitely not "crap", and I'm not disappointed by it either.

To be honest, I've heard many worse than this.

Yes, the drums are a repetitive, and I think the main volume is a bit low, but I think I can say, I liked it.

The basic tune was a nice, chilly one, the audioclips were okayish, and the second part (from 1:30) was interesting, even after the little extra you gave it from 2:05, which made it a bit dissonant in some places. The ending was nice.

 

The missing parts were:

- variation in beats

- bass (except the down-sliding bass you used for decoration)

- serenity

This was going for more like a "20% Cooler" kind of title, or something similar. Serenity is about calmness of the mind, but this track didn't sound like that at all to me.

 

If I have to give points, I would consider giving it a 4/10 (maybe a 5), but you should work on it a bit more.

(and now I'm off to the corner to hide my feelings of being a hypocrite, as I've never tried to make music in this genre...)

Alright, with all this feedback, i shall make the perfect MLP song/remix.

Will put my heart and soul into it.
