Short circuit left a tip on the counter and left with the bottle of whiskey in his hoofs. He walked out only to see the mayor walking by....swell job he was doing....well that's what short circuit keeps lying to himself about. But then again, he always had a hatred for any higher up power. Things could be fixed around here....specially the power supply, it would be nice if the generators gave away every time he tried to juice himself up with energy.

 

He just took a sip of his whiskey and waved to the mayor with a fake, but very believable smile.

Rye was in his office, it had only been a few minute and Rye already wanted to shoot his brains out. He swivels in his chair a few more times, till he had an idea. He sat backward in his swivel chair and began making his way across the street to the shop. He wheeled past every pony who was talking and went straight to the store clerk, "Night Comb I'm bored, but then I thought why should I have to be bored. I have an extra swivel chair, what'd ya say? Swivel chair race?"

Changelings? Here? Crazy! Half there army was scattered and the rest in hiding.

"Changelings? Here? That's crazy talk! This town is way to small to be a target and they're too disorganized to strike well. Besides. Their homeland isn't even protected well right now! It would be stupid to attack! Anyway how much is this book?" He placed it on the counter.

He noticed one pony had left but there was now a new pony there. he walked up to a random place in the store and just stared at it till he saw a chance to ask about the hotel. The store was so full with books that some had just been left in piles on the floor. The ponies weren't moving so he did the next best thing. He picked up a random book off the floor and walked up to the counter. He didn't actually realize what the book was. "How to navigate equestria for idiots" Once he realized this he blushed and asked "are there any hotels round here?"

Night Comb looked up from the counter. '4 bits. Ya know what? Sure. I'm bowed outta my mind anyway...' He mumbled before walking back to the mayors office with him. The lines up the chairs at one side of a hallway. '123GO' he called out before immediately slamming into a wall. 'Goddamnit!' He cursed before rolling back, with a small smile. The mayor beat him but he enjoyed it. 'I guess I owe you now...' He mumbled before standing up and sliding the chair down the hallway

Sapphire sighed and grabbed some milk before walking back to her house, she opened the front door and started "What the...My gosh..." Her mom was there, with a bloody gash across her head. She ran over to her mom and cryed, slowly falling asleep, with the book as a pillow

Night Comb laughed. 'This can only end well.' He said as he trotted back to his chair. 'One outta three?' He called as he got ready to fling himself at the mayor. 'Im jousting the mayor of a town I live in after racing him in swivel chairs. What the hell...' He chuckled before starting to roll.

Short circuit sat on a bench in front of the busy book store. Trying to wait out the people before getting some necessities. He sat there taking small sips of the whiskey while patiently waiting. Trying to avoid the eyes of other's in the store. Everything had been on edge due to the rumor of changelings being seen in the town. But to him, it was just a rumor, nothing to worry about.

"Um... Sir... I came to talk to you about the whole Changeling thing but if you're busy I can wait..."

Sapphire slowly got up and walked out into the hall, she had no idea where her dad was, but she was going to get revenge on who ever had done this to her mom. She walked into there room and grabed an old spear that had never been used "Gahhh, I sw...swear..." She still had tears coming down her face.

"I have to remind you that I'm like world champion in jousting, cause I make my staff like joust me all the time and they usually lose, but you shouldn't feel discouraged" Rye backed up to the far end of the hallway and prepared himself to launch at Night Comb. Rye looked at Night Comb and felt like he was staring into his soul. "Ok aaannnyywaaayyy, 1...2....3...! Go!" The jousting commenced and Rye and. Oft comb came racing at each other at top swivel chair speed!

He slowly stared off as he thought, This town is going to get me killed...I have to get out of here as fast as I can, though I still need to find a pony to feed on...

Night Comb smirked as he charged. As expected, the mayor beat him to death. 'I guess you were right. This must be why all the changelings get in. Our mayor fucks around all day!' He laughed as he swiveled in his chair, his pride destroyed from the competition.

Having accomplished nothing from making himself look like a idiot, Lighting flicker trotted out of the book store. He decided to look around town to find a hotel. Eventually he found himself in front of a  B&B called "hooves and hay". It looked like it was in pretty good shape, but he really couldn't be too picky in a town as small as this. He walked in and got a room. He then read a chapter of the book he'd gotten (cost him 5 bits, might as well use it) and passed out. Little did he know he was in a room right next to a changeling.

"I'm passinf through. I need to get to the Griffon Kingdom soon. Could you take me to the inn please so I know where to go tonight" This talk of Changelings was strange. Here of all places? We shouldn't worry about it. Non of his busness. Then again he did get in a lot of other pony's busnuss.

Rye looked at Night Comb then back to the sheriff, he got up close to the sheriff's face "There are no changelings" He stepped back "and if there were then I would know, you wanna know how I would know hmm? It's because I'm the effing mayor! Nonetheless though you couldn't have come here just to tell me about changelings" Rye looked at Night Comb, "Good joust Night Comb, but I'm afraid my mayor duties are calling me once again, we'll chat tomorrow?"

"I'll leave you alone..." The sherriff trotted out of the town hall hoping to forget that scene. He went right back to his office and loooked over some papers. No new crimes thankfully and the last one was just a petty theft. It looked like it would be an easy day today with no problems.

" That would be great!" Renatus replied as he turned to the pony. He still wasn't exactly ok that the pony had listened in on his conversation. Though I might be able to turn this to my advantage...also when was drinking allowed in a bookstore? He thought as he waited on the stallion's reply.

'Sure. Maybe play a game or two of horseshoes?' Night Comb smirked before heading back to the store. He sat down behind the counter and lay his head back down. The mayor had killed him. He closed his eyes as he attempted to gain some sleep. He shifted as he kept thinking about changelings. It didn't matter to him, considering he only liked the mayor. The only one he could actually trust. He sighed and tried to sleep.
