Sam walked down the dark street. Behind her she was pulling her only stuffed toy from home. She had gone home to get it in an attempt to cheer the others up, but upon her arrival, she found them to have already left. Sam stopped and looked towards the sky. She sighed and hugged her toy.

 

Sam sat down under a flickering streetlamp, clutching the animal close. Tears welled up in her eyes and began streaking down her face. Her hair was a mess and her skin was coated in dirt.

 

As she continued to cry, she began to hiccup. Through the hiccups and tears she began to talk to the stuffed toy. Of course, the toy remained silent but nonetheless, she began to feel better.

 

Soon her crying stopped. Sam stood up and slung the toy over her shoulder. Her long black dress billowed out behind her as she brushed dark hair from her face.

"Too late" Shadow said "I'm already leaving the apartment, i just hope Weiss does not follow me"

*Weiss asked, she was standing behind him wearing only an undershirt and a pair of boxers. The armor on her arm was still there though.*

*Weiss sat down on the floor and closed her eyes. An apparition of her appeared next to the real Shadow.*

"Dammit Shadow, stop being so selfish. Its not like you havent screwed people over before. Like when you kissed Rain outside of my diner right after I had given you free coffee and told you I loved you."

I almost killed myself when I heard that you had died that night Shadow. I had a noose set up and everything. I had wanted nothing more than to be with you, and you just couldnt see that."

When the clone dissipated, Six sat down on a nearby bench, his exhaustion finally catching up. <Ah can't convince ya Shadow... Ah only hope yer happy with the choice yer makin... cus ya can't seem ta save yer own self>

Blood stained and clothes torn, Six laid down on the bench, gazing into the sky.

Ten sat down next to Six. "this day just gets better and better" he grumbled " need a ride home?"

Six sighed, "Ride home, new clothes, a long hot shower, Shadow ta stop bein all emo and realize he's actin foolish, the list goes on. But yeah, Ahll take the ride home" he sat up giving his friend a small smile.

"I did, because I was convinced that the good in you would push to the surface. But I guess I was wrong. And you are missing my point here Shadow. I loved you. With every fiber of my being, but you couldnt see it. Your depression made you blind to my affection! What I tried to do with Rain was not a revenge attempt, it was a stupid drunken act. It was wrong, I get it, I shouldnt have done it, I get it. I can work over roadblocks like this, but you still need to learn that lesson."

Six looked at the Rocketeer, "Ahm just about spoken out. Can it wait?"

The Egotist floated over the city. He shook his head, he had only been gone for a day-and-a-half and the entire city had gone to heck.

 

His boots silently held him the air as we watched the proceedings eagerly. His "business trip" had taken longer than he'd expected, but he was back now. The city would soon be at peace. It would be balanced.
