Shining and Cadance

When I've done with the issue about Shining and Cadance, this picture came to my mind.
 
But seriously!? Shining Armor was a geek, 12 level paladin :lol:  When I first saw him in the show, I thought THIS guy is quarterback, captain, champion or whatever! And because of that he will marry princess.
 
But it's awesome! I like him that way, no wonder why  ;)

I quite like the fact that, at least in the comics, Shining Armor's persona of being a captain with some jock-like traits (e.g., the surfer accent) is subverted by him having a hobby like D&D. For some reason, it strikes me as true that he would really get into an acceptable yet fringe hobby. It is not unlike Rainbow finding a love for reading books.

Shining Armor's portrayl in the comics was certainly not what I was expecting but I was hardly disappointed by the course the writers chose, giving him a bit more depth in character and personality.  Ah, but I seem to be side-stepping the actual topic....

 

But what lovely timing for this picture, with Valentine's Day (Or Hearts and Hooves Day, if you prefer), right around the corner.  This is such a lovely scene in so many ways and I am glad to see that you drew 'high school' Cadence in this piece; I just loved that design in the comics for some reason.  Aside from Shining Armor's eye being a bit too far back and perhaps the necks being slightly too long, I can see nothing else that may need looked over again.  The scene is simple but effective, lines and colors are solid and the drawing overall is just a joy to look at.  I just wish I had more to say on this one...

 

Again, great job with this one and I cannot wait to see more from you!

:lol: Words like "gain another level in" and "lawful aligned" always brings some happy moments (I like RPG, no kidding :D)

About eye and necks you right. I always draw long necks, don't know why. For me it's always like "too short... too short... too short... oh no, wait it's too long now!" :)

Well, the comics aren't canon, so you're free to ignore the parts you don't like. I personally prefer the idea of him being more active/sporty, but that's personal preference.

Lovely picture by the way, ruffed Cadence looks pretty cute.

No, not at all :D But as I get it, he have a crush on Cadance for a long time. So a little bit of a problem here... :)
