movies/tv Is Family Guy getting TOO serious?

I have been noticing that this show keeps taking more darker turns in later episodes. I'm not trying to say that every episode by far these last two years are leaning towards serious situations.
For example, that episode of Brian's death. That has got to be one of the most, and most likely the only, episode that was not only depressing, but kinda dark.

Have you noticed the character's attitudes changing for the worse, as well? I mean, take Quagmire for example...he used to be a hilarious lady man. Now he is just an A-hole. 

The jokes are getting dry and bland too.
Am I the only one who is noticing these changes to what used to be a hilarious classic? O_o

Yeah, then again, family guy was always annoying and stupid for the wrong reasons to begin with.

 

I used to like it, but within every season, they add something new or even degrading that makes it unbearable. 

 

And that death was the biggest one, and what do they do? Bring him back for a lesson to fans? That's lame and pointless! 

 

While the simpsons suffer the same fate, at least they don't go to the extremes like family guy, so there's that I guess.

*sigh* The first 3, 4, 5 seasons were so entertaining. Now Seth mostly just uses it to manifest himself through Brian. I hate to say it, but it really has gone on too long.

 

Totally agree about Quagmire by the way. Really miss his old character.

Meh I found the early seasons of Family guy okay but then it took a turn of unfunny, flanderized characters, and overused cutaways to the point where it looks like they're just doing it to fill time, especially when they drag them on for 3 minutes.
