Lightning-flickr 214 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 So what makes a good person? I know people who cheat and steal but does that make them bad people? http://mlpforums.com...g-flicker-r5675 http://mlpforums.com/user/14906-royal-samurott/

Teller 360 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 A good person is someone who does what's right, even though it doesn't always mean everyone will be happy about it. Or say, someone who chooses to not cheat–not because of the consequences of being caught, but because it's wrong.

Ribbonfree 2,383 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 For me 'good' is so highly subjective between people that the best person is really somebody who's open minded and can accept all viewpoints and walks of life and get along with them. Because that guy, no matter what he or she personally believes, can get along with others regardless of what they believe. They'll never really, purposely be a bad person, I feel.

Being nice and being good are two different things, and I'm always friends with nice people, no matter how scumbaggishly they live their lifestyles. man dude man 555 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 I think a good person is someone who just tries ot be the best THEM they can be, someone that doesn't ahve to try to be something that they are not, for attention, for example, brony trolls, they try to act like they are with the moral standard of the show, even act like they are fans, but they are doing it for attention, not because they actually believe in the love and acceptance that comes with it. They are rude and ignorant people, but trolling isnt a bad bad thing. Its more so the fact that its people being someone they are not. Just be you, do what you know is right in your heart. If you have remorse in your heart you will know.
Demirari 454 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 What makes a good person is not of their deeds nor their words. All of those are rather meaningless, but how? One might immediately go, "The guy saved this elderly couple from their house, which was on fire." While yes, that does speak heroic actions, but will that person do it all the time? Maybe the elderly couple is someone they knew. And words themselves are also meaningless, the person could just be sprouting nonsense that just so happened to be positive. Does the person actually care? Maybe, maybe not. If one cannot judge if the person is actually good, how can they? The thing is, what makes the person good as through their repetitive actions. Not by words nor deeds, but a combination of both. If they can constantly prove that they do good things by helping people they don't know, giving encouragements, donations, etc. The more one does, the more good repetition's one makes, that is what makes a good person. It is not just once, it is not just with empty comforting words, it is through repetition of both. To keep doing good actions, to help everyone they can, to comfort everyone as best as they can, that makes a good person. It its through selflessness that makes a good person. To be selfless, no matter the circumstances. If a close friend to you said they steal or cheat, but they'd always been a nice person, would that effect your views of them? If one of my friends told me that they steal and/or cheat, and they had always been a very good person, it would be out of bounds. It would be a sharp contrast to what they would usually be doing. It would be due to circumstances and conditions. If they steal/cheat due to outside parties, that I can understand. Sometimes, the circumstances forces one to play their hands. But if it isn't due to any third-parties, I honestly cannot say what my views would be. it would be of high disappointment for sure though. Good day! Zekromic 1,054 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 it's a complex subject to me, because, from my experience, neither right and wrong, nor good and evil are absolute. What I can tell is, just because a person has many good qualities with others, doesn't make them good (I'M LOOKING AT YOUR DEAD BODY CHAVEZ), while someone who has many negative qualities doesn't make them bad or evil. We are all hypocritical and tend to contradict ourselves, since we are complex beings. I for example, I hate cruelty and see good people suffer, but I lost all trace of empathy for people who brings pain to others, so much that I developed a sadistic pleasure when they get theirs, with evil laugh and everything, and not kidding about the laugh

AppleGearRising 526 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 To me a good person is a selfless one. Someone who is caring, understanding, supportive and will always prioritize the needs of others above their own. Whilst our perceptions of what we define as being good are subjective as each and every one of us will see things differently, i'm sure that we can all agree that a 'good' person is one who decides to do good in spite of everything Avatar courtesy of @Unicorn Coffee ~My very special somepony~ <3 "Whenever there is a meeting, a parting is sure to follow. Lightning-flickr 214 March 2, 2014 Author Share March 2, 2014 what about an anti-hero like batman or robin hood? http://mlpforums.com...g-flicker-r5675 http://mlpforums.com/user/14906-royal-samurott/
Shanks 10,816 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 What makes a good person is someone making a conscious effort to do the right thing even when it isn't always easy, convenient or popular. Nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes but it is actually trying to do right by others that makes someone a good person. what about an anti-hero like batman or robin hood? Both are good people, Batman bends the rules a bit and has on occasion done some questionable things such as torturing suspects but his intentions are good and most of his actions have greatly benefited Gotham City. The noble class at the time was exploiting the people as if they were lower than cattle so Robin Hood did what he had to do to help the poor even if what he was doing was against the law. Bastion 414 March 2, 2014 Share March 2, 2014 To me a good person is capable of understanding what you do and why you do it, sure they might not agree with you but at least their not a blind fighter who shuns things they do not understand. that is my main quality I think a good person has but they should not be perfect, a good person has something bad about them, not too extreme and not to small, perfection is not a good thing to have, you become self absorbed and gloat, also downing those around them by claiming they've done it or could do it better. I don't look for a shining ray of perfection nor do I look for the darkest spirit in existence, I just look for that soul who does not feel like they have to do things simply because they can but because they should or people depend on them to do so. A samurai pyromancer? That's a bit overpowered.
