planning No one keeps a secret... (Title not final)

You swore you'd never tell... But no pony can keep a secret... You know what they say. Two can keep a secret... If one of them is dead.

 

Truth be told this is a loose idea and isn't structured yet really. It's pretty much you've be told a ghastly secret and you have to keep it... And if you don't well the pony who told you won't take kindly to it. Your OC will be placed on constant pressure to let their tongue slip and when they do they'll be one the run. I'm thinking about a paranoia system but I don't know. So I'm asking for help on building this. Like I said it's still in idea stage right now. There will be base rules but probably there will be more RP specific.

 

Rules

1. No god mode

2. If there is a killing you can go into detail but not too much

3. I expect your OC to have a breaking point depending on their personality and backstory. Like if your OC is out of some secret service it'll take a lot to break them but if the OC is a bad liar expect to break soon.

4. The secret can be dark (Murder) or something else. Your pick.

5. The rest of the rules I'll play by ear

Huh, I'm afraid I cant think of any general advice (though if you have any specific questions, i might be able to offer some answers!) but I really like the concept of this and would love to see it take off and become something awesome.

I think Shadow could work, she may break easy if the secret will hurt the pony/person who told the secret if the secret is not told, if you know what I mean.

Here's an idea: each player knows a secret about another: these secrets could endanger / embarrass them (depends on her dark you want to go, but don't underestimate the power of embarrassment) if it gets out.

 

The big thing with this is that it will require a lot of DM participation to control npc's and put pressure on the players.

 

Perhaps the players need to find out who knows their secret before anyone can reveal it - and make sure they can't reveal it? I don't know - I'm just throwing ideas against the wall and seeing what sticks right now.

Like Cinderscribe said, this is an interesting concept, and I'd like to see where this would go. I don't have any ideas to contribute right this moment, but I'll be sure to throw something in soon as I come up with it.

 

As for what character I might use in this roleplay... I don't even know.

 

Galatea (profile link in sig) would be something of a tough nut to crack, given her stubborn streak. However, you press the right buttons with her, she'll fall apart.

 

Nano (no profile here as of yet; he's a robot pony of Galatea's creation [see Galatea's backstory for more details]) - surprisingly enough - has nervous tendencies due to spending so much time around Fluttershy. Add that to his beliefs in honesty thanks to Applejack, he would probably give fairly easily. The only thing that might keep him hanging on would be the fear of what would happen if he told.

 

Ariel (profile link in sig) is already somewhat paranoid as it is, and suffers anxiety problems. She wouldn't last long at all; she'd likely break down the moment the pressure is put on her.

I like the amount of backstory you've got for your OCs. You can use all of them or one. Your pick. You also dropped the RP into Ponyville because of their backstories which makes it more interesting. I fyou want you can also use Fluttershy. Just say if you don't

So, I've got a whole bunch of characters who I'd be happy to use - though I believe that Emerald may be best for this. She'll be a tough one to crack though: I have some less 'secure' ponies if you prefer.

Sounds fun. I like the idea of the secret being about another OC. My character will keep a secret for as long as needed... well, unless somepony gets him drunk. O_o He likes a drink and will tell anypony anything if that happens.
