I haven't played Sunless Sea in so long that I'm afraid of booting up my save bc it's the furthest I've gotten in the game and I'm afraid I'll immediately die cos I've forgotten everything. Damn roguelikes why do I always have a weird taste in genres :|

My story is that I went through some of their little programs but there was no follow up. I contacted both people in charge of it for months with no answer. I found out they moved on from me when they promoted a girl who hasn't been at the company near as long as me! You'd think seniority would count for something! Going back to the "work til we drop" thing I said earlier, they literally have us out here in this heat wave and sometimes they forget to check on us. Someone's already passed out and it frustrates me that they make us stand out here at all since there's a way to do the task inside. 

I don't know how business works with Night Sky but I can say ignoring health risks is a definite negative and not a good look for any company people work for.

And losing your job can make all the problems much worse, as if you don't get welfare or have enough savings in the bank account then you're most likely to end up homeless if nobody else can shelter you.

I'm fortunate enough to not have that problem, as while I'm disabled and do not work a job, I do live off safety let programs and with some help from family. Tomorrow I've got another therapy session coming up, this is going to be a regular thing it seems since over a week ago, I self harmed, twice. Diazepam is helping to treat my sleeping disorders, I'm not being kept up all night anymore, but I've still got mental health problems that are probably going to take months to treat, if not years, and the only thing that is keeping me going is compassion from others, it's the same with everyone else, for one reason or another, living in isolation is never helpful for survival.

Welp I followed a guide that pointed out a good trade route in Sunless Sea to make money in a non-cheaty way (I've gotten far enough and really don't want to lose progress again lol) and I was practically scared shitless the whole time looking at my supplies and sanity meter. This game really reminds you it's a horror game instantly  It was a good chunk of money but I almost did NOT make it omfg...... That's enough for one night.....

I'm not too worried about losing my job but I'd much prefer at this point to get a different one.

I'm glad the safety net plan you have is working! I imagine it can be quite difficult to get all that to work out. 

Hope your next therapy session goes well, too! Also, if you get self harm urges again, just wrap yourself in a soft blanket or take a cold/ice bath or just anything that'll desensitize whatever part of you is wanting that kind of release. I'm no mental health professional but I always like to give people advice since I know what that struggle is like.

I can't wait for my long work week to be over, especially since I just know they're going to push my limits out there in this heat, today. At least it's supposed to cool down a bit so maybe the heat wave is ending soon.

I don't know exactly why I like listening to horror stories, maybe it's because of the interesting plots? I remember last summer in the village I spent several weeks listening to horror stories on YouTube for 10 hours a day.
