mega thread What are you thinking?

Other than thinking what to do about my avatar and my OC Dawnshine Wonder, and my fanfic after New Year if I continue on with it, I've been thinking about something different, solid state and tube amps, they have their pros and cons. Tube amps are better at overdrive and clip gradually, but being pushed too hard can shorten the lifespan of their tubes.

The big problem though, is their maintenance is expensive. And I don't want to bother with that, so I've decided on a solid state speaker amplifier (a small and inexpensive one, not one that would cause neighbors problems) after Christmas. I am not dissing people who use tube amps, they are a popular choice for people to use with turntables and stuff like that. But it's not for me. I cannot afford to just keep replacing gear all the time.

I will choose the Solid State Speaker Amplifier because it has the advantages of small size, light weight, high efficiency, and long lifespan compared to amplifiers.

SOLID's speakers should be better(I think)

I agree, there's some really good ones on a budget now if people care to do the research. I've already found two of them, one of them is from SMSL, SMSL is a Chinese company but they have earned a reputation of selling reliable gear, and I highly recommend them to anyone who is considering the audiophile hobby.

It's true that the SMSL option will be cheaper, but the SOLID speakers have a more refined sound. If you are on a tight budget, you can choose SMSL, but if you're open to buying secondhand, the SOLID speakers would be a better choice.

It's not uncommon for people to daydream about being in fictional worlds

The reason I'd want to be in Equestria is not for the sake of magic alone, in fact my OC Dawnshine Wonder would have nowhere near the magical prowess of Twilight Sparkle. I've thought about adding a spirit animal for my OC named the Blitz Eagle, despite the name, the creature is not an eagle, it's a Phoenix. This creature gave my OC the powers of super speed, a concept I am thinking of adding in my fan fiction later on. Not as quick or agile as Rainbow Dash, but that does not matter to me, it's not a competition. Magical powers or not, I'd be grateful to be in that fictional world at all.

The Blitz Eagle could be said to have been with my OC since my OC's past life as a human, but the powers had not yet been activated until earning a cutie mark in Eq. Blitz Eagle is not just a Phoenix that grants powers, it's a spirit that watches over the mortal realm, assisting individuals who are in need of help.

If Dusk Haven wishes me to add her into my fanfic, I will add her in it, and my Blitz Eagle could be written to watch over her as well.

I was not talking about speakers, I was talking about amps. I've already found some Wharfedale speakers I like and those are getting added to my setup at a later time. Thanks for the advice anyway. Studio monitors do have refined sound, but they're for professional use and content creators, that does not necessarily make them ideal for music listening sessions, because while they do reveal flaws in music, they can also be more revealing of things like compression artifacts or distortion, and if a specific source of your music file cannot be obtained in a lossless format, like certain kinds of fan music, that's bad imo. This is one reason why Hifi speakers are generally the go to for home entertainment.

Princess Luna and Princess Celestia are responsible for more than just day and night, technically speaking, because their world needs heat from the sun, and without it, it gets cold. It would never make any sense otherwise. They're extremely powerful, it's why I said they represent the balance of the forces of nature, one without the other brings ruin.

What if there was a Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers video game?

Who would play D'Artagnan? I can see Claude Frollo as Cardinal Richelieu, Gaston as Count de Rochefort and Curella de Vil as Milady de Winter. Louis XVIII is tricky, maybe either King Louis or Baloo would sort of work.

Troubleshooting my PC is not what I wanted to do tonight. :flutter-table-flip:

if it's Windows 11, it's possible you could fix the system with the reinstall update feature. That said, there have been complaints about the OS breaking itself on SSDs. With apps from third party software like from iobit you could potentially fix driver conflicts as well. Whatever it is you're troubleshooting, it's fixable but will take time. I've gone over to Ubuntu though, it's more stable for me.

Yeah I can email them, but might as well just throw it in the pile with the rest of the junk along with everybody else’s. I know how this works.0

Thanks, I'm on W10 (22H2) but I figured out it was just a motherboard BIOS update that was needed. I was on an older version for a while since this specific motherboard model that Gigabyte has was having issues with so many BIOS versions after F2. Just checking the BIOS list right now and they have F1, F2, F4, then it goes straight to F30 and counts normally from then on. My fault for being an early adopter (it was a good bundle deal at the time for CPU + RAM + Motherboard). I've updated to the latest version they have, F37, conveniently released a few days ago.

With that being said, I've already spent the past few months trying out different Linux distros and will be moving to CachyOS, but I might do it sooner than I planned. You can read more about that here: https://mlpforums.com/topic/205489-the-linux-thread/#comment-6335929 :fluttershy:
