It was another peaceful day in Equestria the birds were chirping and the bee's were buzzing about. Snow slowly woke up from his deep sleep, looking over to his left he could see the love of his life laying next to him, Feather Wind. Slowly he woke Feather up and they proceeded about their morning of eating breakfast and getting ready for the day. Slowly walking outside their house, Snow looked up at the sky. "Ah such a nice day, why don't we head over to the park and enjoy ourselves since we're both off work today." Feather smiled, nuzzling up against Snow and stared into the sky with him. "Yeah that sounds like a good idea. It's just a shame that nothing really interesting happens here anymore now that the princesses have Harmony over the land."

 

Snow contemplated this thought and then gave a concerned look back to Feather as they entered the park. "Are you saying you'd rather have Equestria in danger all the time?"

 

Feather giggled at Snow's question, laying down on the blanket that he laid out for them. "No I'm just saying that I'd like to see something interesting happen in Equestria again. It's getting so dull and it's just the same thing over and over again. I guess what I'm saying is that I want adventure in our lives, something exciting." Little did Snow and Feather know it but that was exactly what was going to be coming to Equestria, and in the form of a blue police box that's bigger on the inside.

The Doctor was running around the console unit of his time-travelling spaceship, sparks flying everywhere it was all very chaotic.
"Oh come on, behave!" He hit a panel with his hammer, causing it to spark, the TARDIS was out of control, it was crashing somewhere, he'd already been into and out of six different dimensions. "Do you feel like telling me where we're going?" He yelled. No response, of course. "Fine! Be that way!"

 

The sound of the TARDIS' engines echoed through the field, the sound getting increasingly louder until a blue box materialised in the middle of it.

 

The Doctor was feeling dizzy, he had crashed for the millionth time, but hey doctor, maybe there wasn't a race of crazy fish people fighting humans on the other side of an unexpected distress call, maybe you're not going to get trappe on a plane orbiting a black hole forever and maybe the devil's not waiting inside it. He looked at those doors, those big familiar doors and ran over to them.
"Okay... what have you got for me this time?" The Doctor said, opening them and seeing a rather large field. "Hmm... earth-like planet, one sun." He smelled something. "Ah, Ponies, hay... though I could be mistaken."

Happy walked out of the house saying good by to his roomate and precious daughter. He was off to get groceries. ' Ok, I need milk, apples, bread, and... oh darn it all, this always happens. Why is it always the last item on the list.' he thought. He continued out to the market place and went to the apple stand. The famous orange mare with her cowmare hat was behind the stall and greeted Happy. He was about to order when something fell on his back. He smiled, turned his head, and was face to face with a changeling. He chuckled, nuzzling his daughter's cheeck then returning to his business. He bought the apples then went and bought the other items on hiw list, finally remembering the cherries he had wanted. He dropped the food off at home and took his daughter to the fields just outside Ponyville. There they saw the blue box.

 

(Love how this started on a new page. Critic's post on the last page almost made me die of laughter.)

Rakon had been flying, working on some aerobatics and endurance flying.  He didn't always like the various exercises his mother had him do, though he was old enough to understand the benefits that she said would come around.  He had gotten tired and was sitting on a cloud resting.  He could see the pony town not to far off, in the distance.  He wondered what it was called.  He guessed it would be more interesting then the talk of how to polish your scales, and other boring talk some who had come to visit his mother were talking about.  He decided to go out and do some of the flying exercises he had not done in a bit.

Looking down he saw what looked like a dark blue box in a field.  He rubbed the back of his head.  He was sure that had been an empty field a brief time ago when he had looked in that direction.   How could that blue box had gotten there without his seeing it.  He flew over to a closer cloud to get a closer look.

The Doctor squinted his eyes and focused on a form, it was a pony, definitely ponies. He took out his sonic screwdriver and scanned around, about a few thousand life forms but no humans.

"Probably not earth, too sunny to be english weather... I wonder where exactly I am, TARDIS won't be able to fly for a while... can't check the scanners either..." The Doctor said to himself.

Snow and Feather continued eating their lunch before packing up and going for a walk. It was then that they both noticed a young dragon and two other ponies near some strange object. "Hey Snow what's that over there? It looks like some kind of box, we should go take a look." Snow looked at feather and simply raised an eyebrow, he would've objected but he knew he wouldn't win this one. With a chuckle they started down the small hill and to the field. Once closer they could see a pony standing outside the strange box, a light brown stallion standing and holding some odd looking device. Feather took it upon herself to fly right into the fray, landing at least two ponies distance away from the new stallion. "Hi there, I'm Feather Wind. I don't think I've seen you around here before, and what is that boxy thing behind you?"

Rakon, a youngish dragon around the same size as an average mare, like one of the main 6, if they were standing on their back legs, was looking at the box then at the pony that had come out of the box while tapping his chin with a finger.  He had seen the pony walk out of the box on all 4 of his legs, but the box wasn't wide enough for him to have fit inside it by doing that.  He saw some other ponies nearby and none of them seemed afraid.  So it must not be dangerous. 

 

He casually stepped off of the cloud he was in, unfurling his wings to float down, aiming so he'd land behind the blue box.  Once he landed he walked around and looked at the back, reaching out to touch the back of the tardis.  He thought he felt a faint vibration  maybe? 

 

Then he walked around to one side and looked it over.

The Doctor stepped forward slightly.

"No, this isn't exactly a box persay, and further more, you're talking, you look like you're a pony, an equine species, pegasus..." The Doctor started speaking. "That's fantastic! How can you talk? Ponies don't talk," He had accidentally left the TARDIS door slightly open when he was talking to the ponies.

Feather stared in surprise at first before shaking her head. "Of course I can talk you silly filly, all ponies can talk even you. You're a pony and you're talking and I don't find that strange." Feather smiled, her eyes suddenly caught a glimpse of the inside of the TARDIS and her eyes grew bigger before she let out a squeal of excitement. "Oh my gosh how is your box thingy bigger on the inside?" Feather flew inside quicker than Snow had ever seen. *Gasp* "Is it a spacial distortion to make it seem smaller on the outside when in fact it's really a giant space ship on the inside????" Feather asked poking her head out of the doors of the TARDIS, giving a big cheesy smile in the process.

 

(I'm going to take like a 2-3 hour recharge nap and then I'll be back on to continue.)

At the first realisation of this pony's words, he looked down at his-self and was quite shocked at the sight.

"Hold on, ha, I am a pony, fancy that! Guess that explains a lot, wonder how I didn't notice it until now though, still... I guess... where'd she go?" He was startled when the pony popped her head out of the TARDIS. "Hey, you can't go in there!" He said, pulling the pegasus out of the box. "Now, before we..." There was an explosion inside the box, making the Doctor jump. "Alright, you seem capable enough, and you seem to be a native of this world, so for now, you are a temporary assistant. Any objections, no? Let's go then..." He locked the door to the TARDIS and trotted off quickly.

Rakon was looking at the side of the tardis and had worked his way to the front.  He still was not sure how this pony could fit in a box that wasn't wide enough.  He would ask him, but he was busy looking at a stick or something and talking to the other pony or ponies with him.  He stepped from beside the tardis to the front in time to hear what the mare said.  He looked in, catching a glimpse of the inside, though nowhere as good a look as she did.  His glimpse was from the front side and was over the ponies since he stood taller.  With the ponies standing on all fours,  unlike him. 

 

"It is." He said mainly to himself.  If this pony's box was larger on the inside that would explain how he had fit in a box not wide enough.  But how did he do that?  Was it magic? He wondered. 

 

"Is it magic?  I didn't know ponies could do a spell like that." Rakon said.  "Is that why it has a slight vibration and a slight warm feeling to it?" He asked.

"No, it's not magic, it's Time Lord science, don't touch it or it'll blow you to smithereens..." The Doctor said surprisingly cheerfully. "...I'm lying of course, but the TARDIS is regenerating, as am..." The Doctor stumbled slightly, making groans of pain as he fell to his knees, so to speak.

Feather giggled as she watched the Doctor trotting towards town, his hoofwork was clumsy and she couldn't seem to understand why. Snow flew over finally and joined his marefriend after hearing that she was his assistant. "Um...hi I'm Snow and just what exactly do you mean by YOUR assistant?" Feather gave Snow a nudge as she flew alongside of him. "Snow don't be rude his box thingy is amazing it's way bigger on the inside. It's gotta be a space displacement effect or something right Mr. um.....I don't think I caught your name."

"Doctor, my name's the Doctor." He got up, still feeling dizzy after his regeneration, it was a tricky process, all kinds of things could happen. "Well, when I say assistant, really I mean someone to stand around, look impressed, do a bit of running every now and then, that kind of thing." He kept trotting, trying to get used to the hooves.

Rakon looked at the doctor.  "You feeling ok?  Looks like you may be sick or something." He said.  He had noticed the doctor was ot walking normal and seemed to be in pain or something for a moment.  He had noticed that the inside of the doctor's box was larger then the outside.  Though he didn't mention it since the doctor didn't seem to want to talk about it.

"I assure you I'm just fine, it's all perfectly natural..." The Doctor said. "Now, tell me, the TARDIS brought me here for a reason, it usually does, what event is about to happen right now? Anything important, anything where something could possibly go wrong?"

Snow scratched his head with a hoof and thought for a moment. "Hmmm nothing really the only thing that's going on later today is the summer market that comes to Ponyville. It's where all the big buyers and traders from Equestria come and sell all their odd little things and popular stuff. It's really quite normal." Feather nodded in excitement, before flying in front of the doctor but kept moving along with the group. "Yeah it's just a little thing that happens once a year, it's really fun cause you see all sorts of things that you wouldn't normally see....like you and your box." Feather started to ponder the name for a moment and then what she'd sort of seen inside before it exploded. "You know your box did look pretty beaten up on the inside, maybe you're here to relax and take a break from whatever it was you were doing."

"Take a break, relax, after regenerating, nah, I don't think so! I need action, this summer market of yours, people, or rather ponies sell things, would that by any chance include ancient artif...." Suddenly, the Doctor felt a surge of pain going through him, it was the regeneration, his new pony form was more than he could probably take, and just like that, he collapsed to the ground, but not before letting a golden stream of particles from his mouth.

Rakon was flying along with the group.  When he saw the doctor collapse he landed near him.    He reached out a hand to touch him. "You don't look ok to me."  He said.  He noticed the gold particles coming from his mouth.  He looked at the other ponies.  "Do you know what is going on?  I've never seen any ponies do that.  Not any who visit my mother's lair.  Or ones I've seen in the distance." he said.  He wondered what was wrong with the doctor.

Snow and Feather panicked when they saw the Doctor hit the ground. Snow quickly picked the Doctor up and started back towards their home. "Come on we can all head back to our house and see how he's doing." Feather nodded, keeping up with Snow and looking back to see if Rakon was behind them.

The Summer Market was a bustling place in Ponyville as it usually was... ponies moving, always talking, always busy, it may have been one of the only times in the year that Ponyville was a central hub of Equestria. So many objects come in and out of the place... but that year, something in particular was sold, and it would change everypony's lives forever...

Rakon kept up with the ponies, flying along. He looked at the doctor, making sure he wouldn't slip from Snow's back, staying close enough so he could grab him to keep him on Snow's back if he started to wake up or move around.  Thinking that falling from Snow's back wouldn't do him any good.  

 "I wonder what is wrong with him.  Is he sick or something?" Rakon asked.  He kept up with the ponies.

(Still watching the Brony show.  That's why I've not checked this forum as often today as I do evenings.)

Happy and Crystalline had been watching the ponies, and dragon, at the odd blue box. Once the group began heading back to Ponyville, the two started following. They split up, Crystalline changing shapes in the crowd while Happy followed directly, hoping to distract the group from Crystalline just in case. He adjusted his watch, creating a shine on a nearby building.

 

Crystalline spotted the shine on the wall and nodded. She changed into a pegasus and flew onto the marked building. She shifted back into her form and spat some ichor onto her hooves. She used the ichor to stick to the side of the building and crawled down above the group. She walked along the side of the buildings alongside the group, listening in to their conversation.

Snow and the others made it to their house and gently placed him on their couch, unaware that there was somepony watching them. "Snow you don't think he's got some terrible medical condition? Or....is it possible that he's.....an alien?" Snow just started laughing at the last question, practically falling onto the floor in the fit of laughter. "Sorry Feather, I seriously doubt that he's an alien. I'd suspect that it's more on the first question. Either way we should probably get him to the hospital just to be on the safe side. What do you think Rakon?"

He breathed out more of the gold particles, the energy flew out of the window.

 

The energy streaked through the air and funneled into this object, this artifact, causing it to vibrate and activate, a glowing red eye appeared on it and the artifact flew into the air, finding the Doctor.
