"2014, that is nearly a 100 years in the future...... well if that is true..." Stahl Chuckles a  bit, " Guess this was not the  "War to end all Wars, as they said, cause you are fighting in the middle east. " he said.

 

Stahl looked down on the ground. His gas mask lay there. He leaned down and picked it up.

Aaron was pondering things. He knew they weren't on earth. If they were, it was either eons past any of their home times. He heard a knock at the door. A tall being stood on the other side. "Routine inspection. Open up." He spoke in a gruff voice. As if he held some form of authority. "Sir, I don't think anypony's home." There was a slap sound. "I know that, private. Lets just move on. The faster we get this done, the faster we get to the burlesque house." Aaron came out of his hiding spot and saw the silhouettes walk away. He began to write on paper again. 'I need information to help us get back to our times.' One of the equine beings came from hiding. It was female, a dark grey coat and she looked young. She whispered something, in their language surprisingly. "Get down. They'll probably come back." "Dinky, get back here. We don't know if their dangerous."

" I can addure you I will cause you no harm, same for you American,  but make a bad move, and I will have to. Nothing personal, but I am still technically at war with you. " Stahl says with a small joking smile. He moved over towards the american, so he could keep his voice low.

Aaron gave a nod and looked to the small one. He still did not speak, but he gave her a warm smile. Trying to convince her that he was a friendly. He had to think, and think fast. But he was interrupted by his stomach growling at him. He began to write again. 'Search the up stairs. You are a soldier and should be able to defend yourself if there are any threats in the house. I'm going to find some food and calm the two in the back. Their friendlys so no shooting them, please.'

"Well, I have no ammo. Only my Bayonet, my Trench knife, and one Grenade. Hell, I don't know if it will work after what happened. But OK, I will. Signal me if you need me back down here" He says as he unslings his rifle and mounts his 12'' bayonet, and then heads up the stairs.

The two split up. Seeing Stahl go upstairs and Aaron went into the kitchen. The two were sitting at the table, the older one was shivering a bit but the smaller gave a wave to him. Aaron waved back and opened the fridge. "You won't find anything in there. The power is out and we can't fix the pilot light." He closed the fridge and looked to her. "If you two are going to stay here, then you might aw well be useful. If you can relight the pilot light, you guys can stay for a bit. Its in the basement. To your left." The woman had a grey coat as well with a blonde mane. Her eyes were crooked, but she seemed to be able to see pretty well. She even had a set of wings. Aaron shook it off and went downstairs.

Stahl looked around upstairs. The place was pretty tidy, but looked like it had not been used in a bit. He scanned the area and walked around  on the wooden floorboards.

 

Suddenly, thee was a loud creak as he stepped on a floor board. He quickly armed his rifle in case he had alerted anything that might be lurking upstairs.

Aaron went to the basement to reignite the pilot light for the house. Going down the steps, he made a few loud creeks on the wooden boards. The basement was cold and very dark. Not a sight could be seen. Aaron began to search his person for any thing to illuminate the area. After a few seconds, he found a LED flashlight. Quickly activating the device, he began to look around the area. In the corner was the water heater, with a few gardening tools that look like they haven't been used for a good while. Removing the cobwebs that hung above, he made his way to light the pilot.

Stahl went looking into several rooms. One of them appeared to be a child's play area . It had a several play mats out, and a large wooden bin filled to the brim with toys. There was also seveal wooden cork guns on the wall. 

 

He chudkled a little. He used to play with those things all the time as a child. His mind became nostalgic as he searched around the room, only finding a few drink powder mixes.

After relighting the water heater, Aaron made his way upstairs and from the basement. He still thought it was a vivid dream, but the dark was still the dark. Making his was upstairs, he sighed with relief to have succeeded. The woman came to greet him. "Well I'll be. Its been hard to relight that thing without the spark rocks. Looks like you found them, thanks." Aaron hid the liter into one of his lab coat pockets and walked off. "We should have hot water soon. Go see if your friend is lost up there." He nodded and went up to find Stalh.

Stahl heard  someone walking up the stairs. He turned cautiosly to see it was the man in thee lab coat, who had still not said his name.

 

"Not to much up here it seems, I think I have found some powdered drink, so we need clean water for that, and two cans of peaches. Other than that, no other useful items" Stahl said.

 

Some of the areas looked like they had been left in a big hurry.

Aaron nodded and wrote down his response. 'I've relit the pilot light. WE should have hot water within the hour. If there is nothing up here, we might as well head downstairs and see if the equine woman can tell us where we are. And if we're lucky, a way to get home to our respective time lines.' Aaron turned around and went back stairs, he would wait for Stahl to join him before he starts writing down questions.

"that is very good. That will geive us use for these powders. Hopefully she can give us and explanation.  And hopefully I can figure out what the hell is happening with all your talk of events that happen in the "future" " he says following the man.

The three sat at the table. Aaron thought it was a good idea to start off with small talk. He passed her a note. 'Hello, My name is Dr. Aaron Trinkle. This is Stahl. May I ask your name?' She raised an eyebrow at the paper. Thinking if they were royal guards, they were damn polite this time around. "Its Ditzy. But my friends call me Derpy." She had an annoyed look about her, as if she wanted this whole thing to end quickly. Aaron passed her another note. Ditzy picked it up from the table, reading it. 'Can you tell us where we are and what is going on? We aren't from around here and want to go home soon.' Ditzy began to analyze the two of them, they were obviously foreigners but weird things have happened in this town. "You are in, or what's left, of the land of Equestria." her voice sounded as if she was bored senseless. "And, unles you two have been living under a rock for the last year and a half, you'd know that the King seazed power form the previous rulers."

"Living under a rock ? I guess you could say that....more like trenches" Stahl said, until he realized she was being sarcastic, " And...well... that dosent sound anything like what I know...... you Aaron..... do you know were we are? Dose any of that sound familier to you ?" He asks.

Aaron began to deduce what she had meant. Equestria has not shown up on any maps he had ever seen, no country or planet matches that description of any that has been discovered. he shook his head, saying he had no clue. He passed her another note. 'Can you tell us how to get out of this town.' Ditzy read the note, a smile forming on her face and soon escalated to a hysterical laughter. She did this for a few seconds, and calmed her self down a bit. "Ah, you guys are a riot. I haven't laughed that hard since the last era. No one can get out of Ponyville. Not Unicorns, Pegasus, and certainly not the normal ponies. The only ones who come and go are the guards. But the really desperate take the Everfree lift."

Stahl's face stood stern as she laughed at the pair. He looked at Aaron, and then back down at Derpy/Ditzy.

 

"May you tell us, madam, were this "Everfree Lift" is?" he asked her with a curios tone.

 

This new world wast starting to sound similar to the hell he had just left.

Ditzy's laughter died down as soon as she realized that they were serious. "Y-you're serious. Seriously serious here?" Her soft smile died down as realization hit her like a ton of bricks. "Ugh, I'm not ready for another funeral. Look, Its not that I think that you're great warriors, its just... The lift is the only unguarded mode of transportation left in town. All the other lifts are heavily guarded and you two won't make it past the first line of defense. Him maybe," She pointed to Stahl. "But you are a scrawny bastard and I highly doubt you can get past." Ditzy leaned back in her chair, sighing. "But, If you tow really wan to leave. I guess I can talk to the mage and see if she can help."

"Hmm....true...." he looked to Aaron.

 

"Do you have experince on any kind of combat ? Any at all ? And do you have anything you can use as a weapon ? " He asked the scientist.

 

She was right thogh. He seemed to be in good physical condition, but he was not in combat condition. With the way he was, he was uncertain how this Aaron would do in combat.

Aaron gave a nervous smile as he did a mock karate chop. Ditzy raised an eyebrow at his... demonstration. "Well... what can you do, Aaron?" He looked around the kitchen and saw the fridge, memories of his child hood cam back as he remembered himself dismantling one in his youth. He passed a note to Ditzy and she read aloud this time. "My skills of self defense are limited. However, I can make up for them with my knowledge of science. I can fix machines and build them from scratch. I'm not for fighting, I'm more of a support." she sat the note down. "Hm, I guess you can get somewhere. But as for the lift, you are going to have to see the mage. I'll take you to her if you wish?"

"that would be quite beneficial to us madam. If you could point us in his direction, that would be good " Stahl said as he slung his rifle over his shoulder and smiled to the wall eyed woman. 

 

This new world was strange.....very strange...but he preferred it a little to the one he left.

Ditzy had gathered her rain coat and some spare ones for the two. Aaron placed his over his lab coat and went out to the rain. The buildings look like they had seen better days. The paint looked worn from the constant rainfall. Ditzy waved them over to follow and brought them along to see the mage. A few minutes passed and they found a small shack like trailer. There were bottles littered around the trailer and Ditzy knocked on the door. "Who's there!? Who so demands the... great Tipsy... wait? Trixie. Who seeks the great Trixie?" The woman's voice was slurred. The door opened and another of the equine beings stood before them. She had a bottle with an apple on it. Her stance was shaky and her vision looked a bit unfocused. But not along the line of Ditzy's.

Stahl leaned in towards Aaron and whispered into his ear.

 

"I am not sure about you, but this woman seems severely intoxicated. I would suggest we be cautious around her" He suggested to the scientist next to him.

 

He had seen many of his buddies like this at parties between battles.

The light blue mare stepped out of the door and immediately collapsed onto the floor. Aaron went over and helped her to her hooven feet. "Th-Thank you. Now, what brings you to the great and powerful Trixie?" She spoke in a mighty tone but her posture was all wobbly. Ditzy walked up to her. "Trixie, give it a rest. They just need to ride the gondola." Trixie tried to clear her head. "That old ting? Nopony in the right mind would ride that. I'm smashed and I know better." She was now leaning on Aaron, trying to stay up. She saw his and Stahl's faces. "Woah, dis are some fuqd up ponies."

"Well.....I have been called worse" Stahl said helping her along with Aaron, " but yes Madam, we really require use of you gondola. Without it I am afraid we are mostly stuck here" He says.

 

He gave the area a look around quickly, to be sure they were not being watched, a routine after being in the field so long
