writing Restless tongue of a silent mouth

I am wary

Heeding caution and whispering secrecy to myself

I’d explain, and oh how I’d tell, if only courage would bless my tongue

To your ears, I would share all my guilt, my lies throughout, my pain and my reason

Lessen the burden we carry by sharing, as philosophy of a heart would say

Yet when the time comes to be open, we’ll fall upon closed books

The words of the mighty, mightily proud, never so easily read

And oh how I’d tell, if my mouth would care so much as to open

I’d tell the heavens of my plight, but I fear no answer

So I feel in the end I will make mark and notice of your waiting

For I am waiting too, and within your comforts

I’d give all my secret words to you, if you’d have them

For perhaps when I am ready, you’ll find solace in my truths

On a day when tongues rest easy, and a heart’s pride falters for love’s sake
