AppleCrackers 36 April 6, 2014 Share April 6, 2014 (edited) When was the first time you wrote and shared it with this forum or anywhere else? How did it go? Any advice for my first attempt? Quite curious because I've read some really, really good things on this forum Edited April 7, 2014 by AppleCrackers
SkyBound 829 April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 Hello @AppleCrackers! As your thread seems to be a discussion on everyone's experience with sharing their early writing attempts as well as seeking advice for your own artistic endeavors rather, I have moved your thread to the Creative Resources section. This section was created specifically to help fellow members on any projects they may be working on or help flesh out personal and creative ideas, so I am sure that you will gain some valuable insight there. Unfortunately, I do not write often, so I cannot give you any advice in that regard. However, do not be hesitant to share your work with others, as that is one of the fundamental keystones for an artist's growth. No one starts out a success and there will always be missteps as your progress, but that journey is a lot more fulfilling when shared with others. And most here are more than will to help you grow and improve as a writer, myself included. I do wish you the best of fortunes on your writing and I do hope to see he fruit of your efforts at some point. Take care! 2 Deviantart Tumblr
Jorguil 54 April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 Well I shared a fanfic not long ago I will tell that a good imagination can be helpful though keeping in mind what makes sense is important too if you can use descriptive details to the environment and show case personality and give the reader a reason to read about the character then you have the basics. My issue was I began thinking too much and ended up having too much in my head so try not over whelming yourself okay?

Castle Bleck 19,361 April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 (edited) A piece-of-s*** Mario/DBZ crossover when I was 11 (I'm 23 now); I even had Bowser and Frieza hug each other at one point (I thought it'd be funny)... Man, I sucked... Edited April 9, 2014 by Anti-Villain 1 By Emerald.↑
Dattebayo 2,850 April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 An MLP/Dead Space one...not involving the mane 6, mind you, that'd be stupid. x) Technically, it's a comic, but #yoloswag. My advice...try to put the reader in the scene, visually. It's a biot of effort getting all the details down, but the payoff is great. 1 ^Click for my Deviant Art^ You truly are the Rosa Parks of not understanding what r34 is. FoxyCryptid 4,330 April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 This, which seems to have been recieved really way despite really just being an exercise in writing emotional scenes: http://www.fimfiction.net/story/62167/forgiveness 1 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. You taught me that Life's about change, about learning to accept who you are, good or bad. And I thank you for that." -Duncan McLeod.
Nerdy Luigi 2,065 April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 (edited) My first was a TF2 fanfiction, the 3rd part is currently being written. It's about a Sniper and a Soldier, primarily. I would spoil it if I revealed any more. Plus, it isn't finished. It's only halfway done or so after part 3. Mine isn't written like a book at all. It's not in prose. I wrote my first fanfiction series (Part 3, yet again, is unfinished) in the form of a script. Mares and Gentlecolts, The Heroic Sniper. Edited April 7, 2014 by Twilly F. Shawchert 120 April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 1998 it was a lion king kind of fan fiction, though it was mostly about my own made up lions... that's when I got bashed by my son's father about there being no such thing as white lions... oh gotta love things and everything. I haven't made a fan fic since I worked on pokemon on over 10 years ago.... I have mostly been working on things I want to get published now 1 I am the Candy Cane Fairy, hear me roar "Rawr!" ~Me!
