Shane figured it was high time he exited the vehicle, seeing as how the two ladies had already made haste into the fine dining establishment. (Shane thanked the heavens for retaining his ability to count the number of his female companions). After his mental spiel, Shane entered the chicken joint, only to gaze upon a sight he had not expected to see.

 

"D'Shayne, my boy how's it been?!" Shane shouted across the restaurant to man working behind the cash register.

 

The man known as D'Shayne was sharply dressed, with a long silver chain hanging off of his neck. He had short cropped hair, which was styled in a way that just screamed, "I'm here for business."

Shane's greeting was met with a phrase Shane had longed to hear for longer than he'd care to admit. 

"What's new pussycat?"

This along with the smell of fried chickey in the background, Shane knew he was home.

Misha glanced over to Zeke when he heard a loud stomp. Seeing the new person who seemed to have actual abilities as compared to the earlier soldiers gave him the impression that they were the leader of this rag tag gang of mercs. Misha kept his distance for now and fired off three basic golden yellow blasts from his palms to test the waters on what they could do.

As she stood up, Chelsea's vision snapped towards Misha when she noticed that he fired three beams at her. She bent the direction of his spells a little bit when it was within her dome, causing the beams to miss, but it was quite a close one, making it look like he missed his shot. Chelsea inspected Zeke thoroughly, taking a few seconds looking from top to bottom. "No mere mortal could dodge all of those attacks.." She wasn't sure if she was complimenting him for his deadly fast reaction or suggesting him to reveal his secrets behind his powers. "What exactly are you?" Chelsea asked Zeke.

"What are you?"
1. You'll pay to find out. [intimidation]
2. More powerful than you could ever know.
3. What's it to you?
4. I am the one who knocks.
5. Just some kid from Vertlyn. <--
6. That's none of your business.

"I'm just some kid from Vertlyn." Zeke said as he gave a smile. "I don't know who you are, but if you are after my friend, I won't hold back." Zeke's face turning stern now. He was charging in sunlight the entire time his mark was activated. He stopped the flow of inward energy, and waited for a reply.

"Just some kid eh? I'm impressed. Sadly it won't be enough to save you or your friend." Chelsea replied. "Oh, and it's nothing personal." She added, referring to the fact that she's doing it for the money and she doesn't really care what she's done or why someone wants her dead. Based on what Chelsea has seen, it appears that Zeke can dodge almost every attack before she makes any contact, so her next move has to be different. She enlarged her circle just a slight bit, making it large enough to fit two people. She ran towards Zeke with her knife, decreasing the gravity to nearly zero when he was within the range of her sphere, but nullifying the effect on herself. Chelsea went for a stab straight on his upper chest.

Zeke didn't understand what happened until it was too late, one moment he was standing firmly on the ground, the next he was practically weightless, his feet a few inches from the ground. His feet were not in range of any surface so he wasn't able to jump to dodge this one. All he could do was rotate his body to keep the knife from actually stabbing deep into his chest. Instead the knife carved a straight horizontal line along the trajectory Chelsea was using to stab Zeke. Zeke felt the bite of the blade and the familiar burning sensation as if the blade were molten lava on his chest. Blood pooled up on his chest wound and spherical droplets of weightless blood levitated up past his line of vision  Zeke let out a gasp of pain, but retaliated with a swing of his plasma lance at Chelsea's body, as she was well in range for his attack at this point.

Misha was sure at this point that her powers had changed the direction of his attacks, he couldn't of missed at such a close range three times in a row. Scared that he might end up hitting Zeke whether he liked it or not if he continued to fire, he closed the distance in and decided to make it close quarters from now on. Misha pulled out a golden butterfly knife from his pocket, and flipped it open on his way over. He kicked right at her left knee with his boot knife and stabbed right at her upper right arm. Just as she was curious of Zeke, Misha was curious of her, so he kept his attacks as nonlethal as he could unless things got bad. With Zeke in the front of her, Misha tried to keep himself in her blind spot from behind as he attacked.

Chelsea placed her foot firmly on the ground and pushed herself away from the swing of Zeke's plasma spear, however, it still managed to slice an inch deep into her left arm near her shoulder, causing blood to come dripping from the wound. She made it look like she wasn't experiencing any sort of pain, but she was actually holding it in. Chelsea glanced at the spot where she got hit with the spear before she looked at the car and realized that there was no reason to get beaten up by him when she can simply kill Raiya before she gets herself killed by fighting Zeke. She quickly grabbed a round explosive that was hanging on her vest, pressed a button and tossed it right under the vehicle. However, it was no ordinary bomb. It was a singularity bomb, and she was dying to know how they'll get Raiya out of this now. "You've got five seconds, boy." Chelsea said with a smirk, but then Misha came running at her with a knife. She multiplied the gravity by twenty fold and ducked down, covering her entire head with her arms. Unless Misha was supernaturally strong, no normal human being can withstand such gravity. Of course, she was nullifying the effect for herself so she won't be affected by it.

Raiya opened her eyes, her head pounded with a headache the likes Raiya had never felt before. Raiya took stock of herself and realized she was in the back of the Escalade. She also noticed a sticky-note on her jacket that read, "What's new pussycat?". She then remembered that she was supposed to be furious. Casting her gaze out of the window she saw Zeke and Misha standing next to a bunch of dead bodies, and a girl with grey neon blue gradient hair. They were certainly locked in combat at this point. The girl got slashed by Zeke's spear but then turned her attention to the Escalade. Since the windows on the Escalade were completely black tinted, Chelsea would not be able to see Raiya on the inside. Chelsea then proceeded to unclip what was clearly a grenade from her vest and rolled it under the vehicle. Raiya came to her senses and realized what was happened. She quickly cast a transportation spell which created the pink ethereal magic circle on the seat surrounding her and she sank into it closing the portal right as the car was sucked into a singularity. She floated in what she liked to call "the in-between space" for a bit (which was just a void space between the spirit realm and the physical realm) while activating her magics. To any onlooker, it appeared as though Raiya had just been crushed inside the singularity but she was very much still alive.

Zeke dove to far away from the car and watched helplessly as the SUV was pulled and crushed into a singularity.
"NO! RAIYA!" Zeke yelled. A tear forming in his eyes.

Before he could reach Misha felt a tad bit heavier than usual. And before he could get any further he collapsed to the ground and couldn't get up. It didn't seem to be the biggest problem, he figured Zeke would just attack her and free him momentarily. However his calm demeanor slowly started to dwindle once the grenade was tossed. From his position he was unable to do much. He tried to pick up one of his hands to cast some sort of spell, but by the time he was halfway there the car had already been destroyed. 

 

At this point Misha's started to look a bit less pleased by the situation. And for the first time in a while, he didn't have anything silly to say about it.

Chelsea dropped her weapon when she heard Zeke screaming the name of the person she was sent to kill. "I-I'm sorry.." She apologized to him before turning around and nodded at the cloaking Esper. He turned her invisible, and the second she was completely invisible, she hopped into the air, freeing Misha from the gravity effect. She landed before the cloaker and swooped him off the ground and flew a few meters off the ground. It was too dangerous to leave him behind, and after losing four members, she wasn't going to risk losing the last member of her squad she had left. Chelsea was now 25 miles away from Misha and Zeke, but she felt like it wasn't just over yet, or maybe it was just her imagination.

Misha got up slowly, looking around with a irritated look. He picked up his knife and flipped it closed before putting it back into his pocket. With a sigh he ran his hand though his hair to straighten it. "What a f**kin' clusterf**k." Was the only thing he said, putting emphasis on some rather colorful words. His personality had done a rather abrupt one eighty on itself at this point. He looked over to Zeke now. "W-what now?" He asked as he began to decipher whether he was more angry about not getting to fight the new girl or Raiya's death.

Zeke slumped over in silence, as if abstaining from speech was a reply in and of itself. Zeke stood up with tears in his eyes, his long red hair hiding his expression as his gaze was downcast. And they began walking, walking towards the same path they would have taken had they driven on.

Raiya had been tracking the essence of the esper through the in-between space for only a few minutes. When Raiya was sure that Chelsea had slowed down, she was ready to reveal herself. First Raiya equipped her armor by yelling the name of the primal she made a pact with, which in this case was Zenith. As soon as she shouted, "Zenith!" it was as if her body was struck by lightning. After the brightness subsided, she was clad in gold armor from pauldrons to greaves. The only piece of armor she wasn't wearing was a full helmet. Instead of a helmet she wore a golden circlet with scales of justice inscribed on the middle pendant. After she was equipped she felt it was time to step out and greet the foe that attempted an assassination on her life. 

A grand, vertical, yellow magic circle opened up five meters in front of Chelsea and her invisible esper comrade. After about ten seconds of the circle standing there, menacingly, Raiya stepped out of the portal, clad in golden armor. 

"You have attempted an assassination on my life, instead of battling me face to face, you chose a coward's tactic. I don't care who you are or who hired you, all I care about, is your punishment. I can assume you already know my real name, but I shall tell you my Magic Name. If you are not familiar with the tradition of Magic Names, a Magic Name is only announced as a declaration of a duel to the death. My Magic name is Vincio590 May My Punishment be Swift." She finished. And then she shouted, "ZWIESS!" And a large ethereal claymore that was just as gold in color as her armor fabricated itself out of flames in front of her, she snatched it up with her right hand as soon as it was done manifesting itself before her.

Misha let out a groan of distaste when Zeke didn't reply and started to walk away. Death was one of the reasons he didn't like to socialize with people all that much. There isn't many things in the world that can put Misha in a more vulnerable state then the loss of someone close to him. He figured the best way to fix that is to straight up not like anyone in the first place. After all, you can't lose what you don't have.

 

He started to catch up with Zeke, but something caught his eye a few steps in: The knife that Chelsea dropped. Misha walked over and picked up the weapon, inspecting it. Something worth taking with in his eyes, he could use it as a memento of his own failure today. "Who apologizes after a hit..." Misha mumbled to himself as he started to look around and saw the rifle off in the distance "Annnnd... leaves half their arsenal behind too?" He added as he walked over and crouched down to get a better look. For a military guy like Misha, a free knife and rifle with meaning was something he couldn't pass up. The weight shouldn't be too much of a problem for him, so he picked it up and propped it on his shoulder and jogged over to Zeke. He kept a distance of a few steps behind the distraught man.

Chelsea stopped right in her tracks when she saw a yellow portal of some sort. A few moments later, the person who she thought she killed walked out of it in golden armor. "Fuckin' magicians.." She mumbled as she lands down and let's go of the cloaker. "Leave without me." Chelsea told him. He ran off, leaving Chelsea exposed and standing in plain sight. She stood in a wounded stance, her right hand holding on her left arm where it was bleeding. Chelsea was clenching her teeth from the teeth, watching Raiya fabricating a golden sword out of nothing. She grabbed her G18 with her bloody hands and started unloading a drum mag's worth of led towards her, strafing to the left as she did.

She blocked a few bullets using her Claymore, and then her brestplate before shouting, "JUDGMENT STEP!" There was a bright yellow flash and one moment she was standing where she was getting shot at by Chelsea and the next she was standing to Chelsea's direct flang within touching distance. Raiya quickly swung her sword with all her strength in a downwards arc, like she was a golfer trying to tee-off. Raiya aimed for the kevlar as she new that if the swing hit, it would not kill Chelsea, only knock her off her feet and the wind from her lungs.

Chelsea was watching her every move, and for someone who has killed many magicians in the past, she knew what to expect. Since Raiya was currently using a sword as her weapon, she knew that it wasn't gonna be a long ranged attack. However, when she blinked in front of her, Chelsea didn't have enough time to counter the attack because there just wasn't enough time nor did she have the power to block such a strong attack. She launched herself backwards along with her dome, essentially dodging the attack but the landing was awfully rough. Chelsea used too much power since she was scared to take such a heavy blow to her chest. She used her shoulder and hands to get herself back on her feet and mumbled "No wonder I'm getting paid a fortune for her death.." before she tossed away the empty drum mag and holstered the gun. She had no weapons that could defeat her, and she could only counter her attacks with brute force using her dome, but killing her now was out of the question. 'I'd be lucky if I get out of this shit alive..' Chelsea thought to herself.

Raiya's swing cut through the empty air, missing her target. 

Hmm, impressive reaction speed. She is definitely experienced, not just with her bodily reflexes but with her power as well. Raiya thought.

Let's see how she fares with this. 

Raiya extended her left hand, which was empty, and held her palm out facing the direction of Chelsea. She stabbed her claymore into the ground for it to rest there for a moment while she placed her right hand on her left arm as if bracing it. Energy seemed to accumulate around Raiya's palm as a etheric red magic circle began to form. She continued to gather energy and then shouted, "ZENITH JUDGEMENT BOLT!" Immediately a bolt of red hot energy jumped from the red magic circle speeding towards Chelsea.

Zeke continued onwards, the heat of the sun, which was in the first stage of setting, was beating down upon them. They had been continuing on for about thirty minutes, and even though Zeke didn't feel much like talking, he decided to tell Misha his plan on getting back to Novarious. 

"We are pretty close to Vern's gas station. I am sure he can help us, so that is where we should go." Zeke said in a quite, forlorn voice.

Chelsea stood as still as a tree and stayed as calm as she could. She placed right hand out and shrunk her bubble four times in size, fixing it on her palm when she saw Raiya preparing some sort of projectile spell. It was the size of a shield, but no one could see it, not even Chelsea, but she could feel it. The power of the sphere multiples the smaller it gets, and it was enough to absorb it and redirect it, however since she is wounded, doing that would be more difficult. Chelsea aimed it at where the beam was going to hit and toggled her sphere to redirect anything that comes in contact. When the projectile collided with her circular shield of nothingness, it bounced right off like a laser being reflected on a mirror. The funny thing is that it looked like she did it with her bare hands. "Nice shot, Raiya.. Sadly an attack like that ain't gonna do." Chelsea shouted across to her with a grin before she returned her sphere to its original size. However, she was actually breathing rapidly from how close she was from missing her chance to block her attack.

Raiya watched as her judgement bolt was bounced away as if it were nothing. 

"Hmph. I applaud your reaction time but you are only delaying the inevitable." Raiya said with a grin. "Let me ask you something." Raiya began slowly walking towards Chelsea ever so slowly while she was talking. "Do you honestly think I have been using even a fraction of my power? Because you would be sorely mistaken. I have been toying with you." Raiya was now twenty feet away from Chelsea. "Did whoever hired you even think to mention my power level? Or perhaps they did, but maybe you didn't understand it or didn't care?" Raiya was now ten feet from Chelsea. "Well, let me let you in on a little secret. I'm a magician saint, but do you know what that means?" Raiya was directly in front of Chelsea within touching distance. "Let me put it in terms you espers understand. In terms of esper capability, my magic level would be on pare with a Level 5 esper's abilities. If I actually wanted to kill you, I could have done so ten times over by now, in so many different ways. Especially in the weakened state that you are in right now. I guess the only question right now that should be asked is why. Why have I not struck you down yet?" Raiya let the rhetorical question float in the air in case Chelsea wanted to speak.

At this point Misha began to look like he was regretting taking on the extra weight after the thirty minutes. "Beginning... to realize... picking... up the... gun... was... a mistake." He said in between breaths. "Hopefully the gas station... has something that can brighten our spirits then... or get us the rest of the way... home. Some... f**kin' water too." Misha added as he sauntered on.

Chelsea looked into Raiya's eye's with her unamused and emotionless eyes and said "Maybe you're just simply too scared to try.." before she clenched her fist, shrunk her sphere down to the size of her hand, fixed it on her fists and went for a punch straight at her face. However, it was no ordinary punch. Chelsea increased the force of collision so much that it would give out around 800lbs of force.

Raiya saw the punch coming, and there were a couple of things she was thinking of doing before Chelsea through the punch. Raiya considered judgement stepping behind Chelsea, again. But she knew that, if she were to display her power before Chelsea in such a way as to make her feel powerless, she would have to meet force with force, and not dodge the attack. Before Chelsea through the punch Raiya called out to her Zenith blade that was still stuck in the ground back where she left it when she shout the judgement bolt. As she called out to the blade she shouted, "Zenith Fists of Judgement!" The blade turned into flames that flew at Raiya, and surrounded both her hands. Once the flames dispersed, her hands were covered in a new weapon. She had new gloves on that were plated with ethereal metal right above the knuckles and on the backs of the hands. She wound back a punch with her right hand, and punched to meet Chelsea's fist yelling, "JUDGEMENT STRIKE!". Her hands were now covered in ethereal flame as she cast the Zenith spell Judgement Strike which empowered her punch to cataclysmic levels of destruction. It was clear that if it were a normal human's fist meeting Raiya's, there probably wouldn't be anything left of the normal human.

Chelsea knew it was going to backfire, and she might even lose her arm, but it wasn't going to stop her from trying to strike her target down. She screamed as her fist collided with Raiya's. Her shield absorbed most of the force when their fists collided, but she felt the bones in her hands cracking when it went through her little bubble of finite protection. Chelsea could only hope that her attack did something.

When Riaya's fist collided with Chelsea's, there was a small explosion of energies as they pressed their fists together. Raiya was impressed at how much power that Chelsea had in her punch, had she not been using her magic and armor, she would have taken substantial damage. But as it stood, the only damage she received were a few bruises and lacerations on her hand that she was punching with. Raiya's magic and armor had absorbed the mass majority of the impact. Even so, Raiya was still impressed that Chelsea was able to survive and even (if not just a very small fraction) ward off her attack a bit. 

"Don't you see? It's pointless to fight me." Raiya yelled as she pressed her fist with more effort against Chelsea's fist.
