PinkDeadly 34 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 Hello. The reason i liked Maud seems to be how Gothic she is. At first i confused emo for goth. I always have like some darker content like Hellsing, soul eater, Invador zim and some other series. I am just wondered if there are more like me that also like the series. I am probobly not a real goth tho not sure. Rock your a rock. Grey. Your grey like a rock with you are. Rock your a rock
Windseeker 546 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 What's the difference between the two? Is one more depressed than the other? I hanged out with goths for years, can't date a girl unless she has a bit of goth in her nowadays... They are seriously the least judgmental people one can ever come across. Hansel 1,512 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 (edited) I sorta hate labeling myself, but I'm somewhat involved with the scene in the UK and I go to Goth/Industrial clubs whenever I feel like it. Everyone sorta seems to know each other. It's really strange. You could argue that I dress "Goth" as well, but whatever. Aside from the bickering between the Trad Goth and Cybergoth lot, it's overall a pretty nice and friendly subculture... if a little vain, but that's a given. And the music is really awesome too. :comeatus: and Maud is amazing. Edited April 15, 2014 by Hansel 1 Pancakes taste like well seasoned DVD cases. Nine 707 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 A lot of the group photos of bronies aren't flattering. While I wouldn't specifically advocate for goth as a fashion choice, the recognition that style is in fact a thing that exists is at least a start .. Unikitty 1,212 April 15, 2014 Share April 15, 2014 Wear eye shadow, dress in all black, wear spikes, wear combat boots, tease your hair, listen to Black Veil Brides, complain about life (especially if you're well-off in terms of money). Rinse, lather, and repeat in the morning. Gothic people have an affinity towards gothic themes. The dark, magic, and the supernatural, are all common topics. They don't default to a particular style, and whilst black is a predominant tone, it can be accompanied by a myriad of other colours, both dark and light. Being gothic doesn't mean you have an iPod full of bad scene/emo bands, and it's certainly not about complaining about how bad your life is, regardless of the truth. This and many other aspects are all false stereotypes that put themes such as gothic in a negative light. Plenty of happy people are gothic. I'm of a generally happy and reflective(albeit often sarcastic and slightly narcissistic) nature. Yet I still enjoy many of the topics one would properly associate with a gothic culture. There is no cut-and-paste description of gothic people, as doing so defies the very point of being such. Much of the gothic culture is rooted in Pagan topics, but this is not always true. Some gothic types can find interest in the theme for it's outward aspects. Their preferences towards attire, music, and other such things. All of this is still gothic in a sense. One can wear white and still be gothic. One could have zero piercings, and confide in a priest after their regular prayer, and still be gothic. All of this is vastly different to 'Emo' and 'Scene'(a fancier form of emo). Emo is more likely where you'll find people wearing spikes, listening to the earlier mentioned bands, and complaining about a possibly bad life. Not to give them a bad name, but emo is more of a label used for the self loathing. Those trying to rebel from society and the norm. Goth is a label that anyone slightly within the theme can hold to them selves. A happy-go-lucky soul can still be a gothic one.

I was being facetious, highlighting the fact that you can't really put a pin in any particular social class because, while the general attributes may be there, there will alwasys be people who break the mold. This forum needs a "not to be taken seriously" font. x) ^Click for my Deviant Art^ You truly are the Rosa Parks of not understanding what r34 is. It was just a good base to use when accurately describing what gothic culture actually is an is not. Forgive me for any misunderstandings. It's 5:15am.
