Now, this implies for Sony and Microsoft as well. The big three are very scared to dip their toes into the pool of innovation and risk-taking. But, Nintendo probably has it the worst right now.

If they want to be successful this generation, I think they need to do three things.

  1. Change the marketing of the Wii U
  2. Get more Third-Party support
  3. A change in managment (Because Iwata needs to leave, pronto)

I agree completely. Taking risks can sometimes lead to new innovations, but those companies need to learn to not look at the negative side of stepping out more.
