It's not a superpower, it's an ability. And just because it's not a 1x1 RP, doesn't mean that it has be canon. Canon sort of takes the fun out of things imho.

Yeah, canon can take the fun out of things, and I see where you are coming from. The thing is though, that the Wanderers of the Everfree isn't canon, but that is what this roleplay revolves around. So in this that is the only variable thats been changed. Whereas, if there was a roleplay with all the ponies inheriting abilities, say water, electricity, fire that would be the variable changed for that one. It's just that an electricity power in itself would require explaining, a backstory, deriving from the main plotline of the Wanderers. It also takes the interest away from the other group members, who have no extraordinary abilities, in comparison to Thunder Dash with his electrical ones. If you really wanted something to do with electricity and Thunder Dash, you could have him wield a sword with electrical properties, or something. I'm not sure if you understand where I'm coming from with this, but I tried explaining it the best I could. 

 

Oh, and please don't take this the wrong way,  I think that Thunder Dash is a great OC, with a very interesting ability. Although just not suited to this particular RP.

Well...Thunder is a Major in the Equestrian Military so...that would transfer over into him being the Captain. 

 

Having a sword that enables him to wield electricity would derail his backstory yet again. When he was struck by lightning during the rescue, it changed his genetic code, enabling him to wield electricity.

The Wanderers of the Everfree are separate from the Royal Guard, and military it is pretty much a volunteer corp. Which is why it consists of ordinary, all walks of life ponies.

Ah...I see. Imho, I just think that the wanderers should consist of ponies who are not the same. Having nopony with an ability would be a bit boring. All they would have to work with is a limited version of their talent.

It's just a different sort of style, they need to use their wits and what they have already to accomplish their challenges. They don't have abilities which they can turn to.

The thing about limiting people to only using their wits is that like a high percentage of people prefer to RP with characters who have abilities. It'll make the RP sort of like a puzzle RP, which unfortunately, they die quickly around here.

The Puzzle RP's die quickly? And this is only one RP, eventually I'll get round to making ones with ability oc's and all that.

Unfortunately yes. People here love action, adventure and romance RPs with OCs who have abilities. The question is, what will the wanderers be doing? To me, I always envision in RPs with hierarchal order, the upper ranks having abilities, but limited in this case.

Appearance: Orange coat with a matted grey mane. Lanky build and thick eyelashes that gives him a slightly feminine appearance. (My avatar is his appearance).

Profession: The closest thing to what he's good at would be the kennel master or scout, for the purpose of keeping the wall reinforced against the creatures of the Everfree. Their background is specifically part of the Equestrian Engineer Corps of their military.

Race: Earth Pony 

Cutie Mark: A brick wall.

Personality: Always eager to help and cooperative with all three tribes. He's somewhat forcible in offering help sometimes.

History: He served in the Equestrian military as part of the engineer corps for several years. However he dropped out after having begun a relationship with a warrant officer. The relationship dried up two years later and he has wandered between construction projects ever since.

Responsibilities: Helping to repair the watchtowers, building the palisades, and constructing traps/devices to keep monsters from destroying the wall.

 

The Wanderers of the Everfree have begun construction on a wooden palisade wall around the forest in order to better protect, and safeguard the population. Aswell as carrying out repairs on watchtowers already set up, and building more.

Accepted! It isn't on the list of classes, but there was originally an engineer class. This oc would be a good match for that, so he can be the designated engineer, with the role of repairing the wall, and creating camps when on expeditions, etc. I'll add it now.

So you are going to use Storm Rush? He sounds like he would make for a good designated soldier, but I haven't got the link to its actual OC page. We still have openings for kennel master, and alchemist.

Yep, Alchemist is a nonessential role. Just need a Kennel Master. A designated soldier would be good too though.

I only just learned how to tag someone in a post myself. What you want to do is type (member='Ochre_Dust') except use square brackets [ ] rather than round brackets ( ). As for needing specific roles, that comes off as rather limiting. I'm sure we can all make do with what looks to be a rather healthy-sized group at this point.

Thanks @Delernil , and Storm Rush is accepted! , you're oc has given me some ideas about the plot, I'll be posting a general plotline. Feel free for any of you guys to give any suggestions, or ideas. Then once we're all happy with that, we'll begin. 

 

-- Alright so Storm Rush takes command of one of the groups that breaks off, before that he was the kennel master of the group, as well as the second-in-command. When Stellar Nova, and other members goes missing he becomes the leader of the remaining group.

Oh, I hadn't noticed that, my apologies. Does this mean that the RP thread is up over at the other forum? If that's the case a link to it on this thread is a good idea would be good. I volunteer to be a part of the group without pegasi under Captain Nova (you) to start with.
