Nah 3,182 March 14, 2012 Share March 14, 2012 After seeing this video and a few others, I might save up for a weather balloon and get a pony, a camera, and send it up into space! Well not space, in reality, really high up in the atmosphere, so anypony agree with me?

Tupin86 195 March 15, 2012 Share March 15, 2012 (edited) How weird, I was planning on doing near-space photography as well. It's quite the undertaking, from what I've researched. But the pictures taken from 100 thousand feet up are amazing. You can see the curvature of the Earth as well as space. Weather balloons aren't that much compared to the tracking system you need to use. If you go the cheap way and use a GPS enabled phone, you won't be able to track it once it is above 50,000 feet or so. A GPS module and antenna appear to be the best option. Helium is more expensive than Hydrogen, but is probably better because it's not flammable. Edited March 15, 2012 by Tupin86

Thus, it has been sentenced to the Forum Lounge section of Cloudsdale Colosseum.
