What's the deal with OCs?

Recommended Posts

So I'm pretty sure it know what an OC is.

I'm kind of fuzzy on some things though.

Actually I'm quite fuzzy on allot of things.

1. Where do you get an OC?

2. Where do you post an OC?

3. What are OCs used for?

4. What would you say if you wanted an OC?

So I'm quite confused about these OCs.

Could someone help me?

*Sigh* Too tired to care if troll
A OC is a original character. You make it up, give it a backstory, make it look pretty and make it have abilities that rival Celestia and Discord

Post it's sheet in the character database.

Most people will use OCs for art, fanfiction and roleplaying

  1. You make one.

I don't know wherever you feel the need I guess.

Roleplays and fanfictions

I'd say "I want an Oc, now I'll go make one".

It's an original character as stated before. Although, it's nothing truly terrible as some have just expressed. It's really a character someone makes in relevance to the show. These basics serve well for people who like to to write and participate in roleplays or make fanfictions. I myself, don't find it well as a hobby since it doesn't interest me, but they're others who are greatly involved in writing for their OCs in fanfiction or roleplay.

In conclusion, it's generally a writing hobby.

1. Where do you get an OC?

You can make an OC.

2. Where do you post an OC?

In the character database on the forums.

3. What are OCs used for?

Fan fictions, roleplaying, writing, and drawing.

4. What would you say if you wanted an OC?

I would either make one or say: I would like an OC.

Bonus: OC = Original Character

*My* reason for creating an original character is because it's more difficult to replicate the features of a pre-existing pony lol.  I'm usually capable of looking at a reference and drawing something that at least resembles it, but I prefer not to be limited by what I see in front of me.  I also don't believe I could ever truly do the likes of Rainbow Dash justice.

P.S. My character will likely vary in appearance from drawing to drawing lol.

1. "OC" or Orange County, California is a physical location and not a physical object so you cannot "get" the OC

2. You can post anywhere within the OC as long as you obtain a signage permit from the Orange County city clerk and it is on property you own or received permission from

3. The OC is used for residential housing and commercial businesses.

4. I would say "I am announcing my intentions to run for the office of Mayor of Orange County"

Well OC stands for original character.

1. Where do you get an OC?

You make it your self using pony creator or drawing. Or you could describe how you would like it to look  to someone kind enough to make it to you.
2. Where do you post an OC?

In the character data base here at the forums
3. What are OCs used for?
For roleplaying or writting fanfictions

4. What would you say if you wanted an OC?

Well, if you make it by yourself yo don´t need to say anything. But if you can´t do it by yourself then tell another pony "Would you be so kind to draw my OC please?" And wait for the answer, if they say yes. The describe how would you like it to look and they will make it for you. I can do it if you want.

1. You can make it yourself, on paper, on a character creator, whichever one tickles your peach.

2. On websites, such as this one, or anywhere else, really. Some people have actually cosplayed their OC.

3. For many things, drawings, fanfictions, roleplaying, and probably more.

4. "Hmmm...I think I'll make an OC."

Would this be the proper way to request an OC on this site?

http://mlpforums.com/topic/97038-please-draw-my-oc/#entry2600572

You can try. When I did mine, I used the infamous Pony Creator to use as a guide first, then I learned how to vector over existing pictures to get my OC poses and pics.
