If you're out of stuff to do on Day Zero (Thursday the 13th) of the con and appreciate some fine grub, why not meet up with other forum-using congoers at Max's Restaurant and Bar, a great diner within short walking distance from the Hyatt? We'd meet up at around 3 PM and all eat together, so if this sounds like something you'd enjoy, I hope you can make it on Thursday!

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself. /r/prequelmemes

I love how if a bakery refuses to sell a cake to a gay couple, it's the free market at work, but if someone doesn't want to hire a neo-nazi it's suddenly a bad thing.

Private companies (businesses) have the right to select who they sell to and who they hire. Don't want to sell a cake to gays? That's fine, but you'll probably be losing a bunch of customers (probably between 25% and 50% of customers) since that's about the ratio of LGBT supporters in America... Though it could differ based on location. Don't want to hire a neo-nazi? Again, same rules as before apply. But you won't lose as many customers. But anyway, you can even refuse to hire a person for having a tattoo (of any kind). At the end of the day, private businesses can do a lot of things that public [non-private] businesses cannot do. So, both actions are literally the free market at work. There's nothing to complain about.

I hate the idea that being family means I'm stuck with you forever no matter what. Just because you came from the same pair of testes as me somewhere along the line doesn't automatically entitle you to a relationship.
