Episode 122 - Bowling Pin Sound Effect

Hey.  Y'know what really grinds my gears?  When they throw in the bowling pin sound effect every f*ckin' time something or someone gets knocked over.  They do it SO much.  I mean, sometimes it'll be the most serious show or movie, it'll be f*ckin' Lord of the Rings, and, like, the Riders of Rohan will plow into some orcs and knock 'em over and they'll make the f*ckin' bowling pin sound.  Okay, maybe they didn't actually do it in LOTR, but they did do a Wilhelm scream or two.  Anyway, the bowling

Origin of the divine and universe does not matter

Alot of people including myself have always wondered what the origin of the universe or if some power created what we think and know to be quote "God" or whatever your religion calls it's divine.  By "God" here I simply mean any divine figure that is considered key to your belief system so if you worship say Celestia or Ra or whoever else it would be the same thing really. Episode 121 - Finding Out a Name You Knew is Wrong

Yer like.... what??  The hell??  Yeah, I'll explain. Y'know what really grinds my gears?  When you see a longtime, beloved fictional character's name written down for the first time in your life and suddenly realize that the name you've known for your whole life is wrong, that you've been mishearing and mispronouncing it for decades. Got a Steam Deck!

I recently finally got myself a Steam Deck!    Yeah, that's Devil May Cry 4 on there. It's funny how the console told me the game was unsupported on Steam Deck when it actually plays fine for me. That's the only thing I really don't like about the console, that confusion for some of these games that will actually play fine with some minor tinkering, if you even need to do that at all. Other than that, it's awesome.

Some thoughts on the process of developing my worldview

I have posted some of these thoughts elsewhere; I am re-iterating and expanding upon them here. These are somewhat wandering thoughts. My old worldview was highly influenced by state education, officially-approved sources more generally, and vague impressions likely originating from the former two. While I had certain personal interests, they were not enough as a foundation on which to build a worldview on their own. Eventually, this state of affairs ended for at least a few reason:

Received My Raise at Work After Being Officially Recognized as a Top Performer

I mentioned in my last blog that I was potentially getting a raise, and now, I officially am getting one.  Although it's not that much extra money, it's certainly going to add up, and I am grateful to have any raise in pay. I was also extremely happy to see that I am now officially recognized as a top performer. My supervisor told me that I'm one of the top performers out of seven. Honestly, the boon this has been to my feeling of self-worth is more valuable to me than the money.
