Hey.  Y'know what really, REALLY grinds my gears?  S8 & 9 of FIM have ceased to exist.  Gone.  Sucked into a void never to return.  Well, sort of.  Okay, so I always buy the DVD sets of each Pony season.  It's important to me to actually own the whole collection.  I have seasons 1-7.  I have been waiting for seasons 8 and 9 for ages.  I assumed they had just been delayed or something.  I haven't checked in quite awhile.  I figured that they must be out by now--S8 at the very least.  Nope.  Not only are S8 & 9 mysteriously absent from disc, but there isn't even a whisper of them.  Just radio silence.  Apparently Hasbro has no plans to finish the collection.  They're just gonna leave S8 & 9 out and give a bit middle finger to fans that wanted to own the whole series.  F*ckin' bullsh*t.

Inb4 "but...but...but... AMAZON PRIME!!  F*ck that sh*t.  I said I wanted to OWN them, not buy some digital license to watch them online which can be taken away at any time.

I also have Netflix (not for Pony; I just have it anyway), and the series is on there... except for S9.  8 is on there, but 9 is mysteriously absent.  The scuttlebutt is that due to some contract bullsh*t flim flam, Hulu stole up S9, and it's only going to be on there and not on the Flix.

I think it's really crappy to have the entire series on one streaming service, except for the last season, which is only on an entirely different streaming service.  This age of the battle of the streaming services is really starting to piss me off.  But what pisses me off much more is just the flat-out cancellation, the utter obliteration of any plan to complete the physical media set.  How can you make S1-7 and just say f*ck 8 & 9?!  I mean, I already saw it when it aired on Discovery Family, thank f*ckin' Celestia, but I guess I'm never seeing S9 again, and I guess my prized Pony collection will forever be incomplete.  :unamused:

And that, ponies, is what really grinds my gears.

I would love to buy a bluray box-set of MLP I have bought blurays of the movie and EG series), but, since it's not available, well, I can still watch the show with no internet connection...

I know. The world thinks physical media isn't needed anymore. They'll know better when it's not profitable for a streaming service to carry something they want to watch.

I got season eight from...somewhere. Check Equestria Daily. It's not that great, only on two disks but at least I have it.

I saw some Malaysian company that supposedly make an unofficial S8.  ED made a post about it.  But I'm not at all comfortable giving my financial info to some shady looking site that I've never heard of and know nothing about.

Harrumph.  Some of us would like to own the complete collection, even if the later seasons didn't maintain a perfect consistency of quality.

I saw that too, and I think it was 4:3 format, so it will be cropped or squished. And no 5.1 sound. We live in a world where most people don't care about quality. Soon we will be in the world of Idiocracy. Screens will just scroll shit because people are too lazy to move their thumb up and down.

Yeah that's it. I think I used paypal so I didn't have to give a credit card or anything. And it is in widescreen.

 

Yeah, a series box set would be really nice but there's no real chance of it. :adorkable:

Hmm.  Well, still sounds a little too fishy for my personal comfort level.  They do still show the episodes on tv here, so I'm just gonna record S9 when it comes around again and save it on my dvr for the time being and just hope that maybe Hasbro gets their shit together someday.
