      I don't think it's so much a matter of thinking vs. feeling as it is a matter of negative thinking vs. positive thinking. Instead of focusing on negative thoughts like "what if s/he says 'no'?", start opening your mind to the more positive possibilities ("what if they say 'yes?'"), while still accepting the possibility that you might not get what you hope for. All a matter of being prepared for the worst while striving for the best. :)
