  1. Just like me and so many other cross eyed people on the Internet (http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/471872-save-derpy), we do not find Derpy offensive and we love her. By removing Derpy from the show completely and even the background, Hasbro has shown that being cross eyed is something to be ashamed over. By stereotyping cross eyed people as "retarded" the complainers have shown themselves to be extremely narrow minded. By not knowing that cross eyed people are in general more clumsy and accident prone, people have shown themselves to be ignorant of the condition. Anyone who thinks Dash was mean to Derpy should try watching the show. I have yet to see a single valid argument against Derpy which isn't based upon pointless nitpicking or bigotry and stereotyping.
  2. 1. About May 2011. 2. Derpy 3. 9 5. Yes 6. I love Derpy. I am not offended by Derpy. I would have a real reason to be offended by Derpy if she was offensive. My opinion is the same then as it is now. Listening to the few people who bashed Derpy on tumblr and dA really cemented my opinion on the matter. When the people who claim to be speaking on the behalf of disabled people without regret deletes statements like "I'm disabled and I like Derpy" and similiar comments I just can't protect their actions in any way. The type of social engineering and dishonesty done by certain people in Fabruary really makes me sick: Let's just delete these rational comments and comments from people who actually are disabled and disagrees with us, and leave in these troll comments which tell us to burn in hell, then pretend they represent all bronies. Wait, people didn't like that and now feel betrayed? Delete those comments too! The influx of brony haters are talking about beating up bronies and saying that they are "retarded"? Well that's fine then. Nothing hypocritical about that. And now some people only know the twisted version of events where the people who wanted Derpy gone were victims of the evil bronies, or they believe the only reason why Derpy was removed was because of soccer moms. It's ridiculous. 7. During Derpygate? Not much. I didn't expect her to actually be removed from the show. Later I have made images showing the opinions of people with disabilities, and information about the term derp. I also did sent Hasbro a letter. But they just sent an automatic response.
  3. Being cross eyed makes you offensive
  4. No parents have said this. Where have you heard that any parents were involved in this?
  5. Sue over what? The existence of a cross eyed character on TV? The existence of a clumsy character on TV? And even if they could, this isn't about any parents. This about people on the web redefining language to find it offensive, aka "ableism". The words these people find offensive. Stupid, idiot, moron, crazy, lame, dumb, bitching, nagging, blind to, deaf to, cretin, insane, imbecile, invalid, nuts etc. etc. . Yes, these words are just as offensive as "derp" in their minds. It's just, derp has garnered so much attention now that people have actually started taking them seriously. If they would have put derp alongside all the other words they find offensive people would see it for what it is. Pointlessly trying to be offended by the English language on the behalf of differently-abled people. It's pretty darn offensive how they think saying someone is nuts = discrimination against differently-abled people, like if there didn't exist any real causes to help with anymore.
  6. Glad you got it fixed while you were still young. Are you able to look at 3d movies properly?
  7. Wow, that was a whole load of nothing. You keep claiming derpy means stupid. Derpy doesn't mean anything, and derp means mistake or screw up. I also have lazy eyes and I'm sick of the people who think Derpy should stay dead and that it's good that she's gone. I'm sick of the people who keeps claiming the Derpy fans are to blame for all of this. And I'm sick of people who can't get it through their head that the episodes we're now seeing were animated 6 months ago. I completely understand why everyone is upset about it. 10 people got the chance to ruin something which everyone loved and Hasbro knew that it would piss a lot of people off, yet they still did it.
  8. And you end up making up all kinds of crazy stories about how everything is the Derpy fans fault. and you even claimed that Derpy fans insulted people with lazy eyes, which is completely insane.
  9. Picture to the left and up related. But boy, what douche-nuzzles. Calling someone a pedophile is pretty much slandering at the highest degree.
  10. Just take up satanism as a hobby, and after a few weeks when they find the stench of chicken blood emanating from your room too unbearable they'll beg you to go back to ponies! Joking aside. Maybe you should just ignore them. Parents have always disapproved of the new things kids get into which they do not understand. Music, comics, ponies. Eventually they'll realize how pointless it is trying to dictate your habits.
  11. Here is a little detail. When you're cross eyed it often mean you lack depth perception, meaning you can't approximate distances as well as people with fully functional eyes. This can often cause the person to be pretty darn clumsy since it's hard to tell the distance to objects. How come nobody ever brings this up when you talk about Derpy? Assuming that someone who is cross eyed and clumsy is "retarded" is itself really really offensive. That's the reason why I am so passionate in this subject, but it feels like I'm losing against the stereotype.
  12. And who said Derpy was disabled in the first place? Being clumsy and cross eyed does not make you disabled by any stretch of the imagination. Hell. I'm clumsy and cross eyed, but I don't yell "OFFENSIVE STEREOTYPE" each time I walk past a mirror.
  13. So where is your righteous fury at the people who got Derpy removed who thought just that? And strabismus isn't always easily cured. I'm never going to be able to use depth perception despite having surgery on my eye muscles as a kid. Yes. I believe the same non-parents on tumblr who got Derpy removed in the first place would have gone just as ballistic if she was called Ditzy. They'd just call her sexist instead of ableist. If you asked 100 parents what the term "derp" means, it is a safe bet that none of them would have any idea what it meant. It's incredible that you keep repeating the "it's the parents fault" bullshit Ad nauseam without any kind of proof.
  14. Except that it doesn't. It's yet another manufactured aspect of this whole controversy. Derp never meant retard before certain people started associating the term with it. http://cdn.derpiboo.ru/media/BAhbBlsHOgZmSSJwMjAxMi8xMi8xMy8xMF8wMV8yNl8zNzhfMTgxNTM3X19VTk9QVF9fc2FmZV9kZXJweV9ob292ZXNfbWV0YV9kZXJwX2RlcnB5Z2F0ZV9nb29nbGVfZ3JhcGhfc3RhdGlzdGljc19yZXRhcmQGOgZFVA/181537__safe_derpy-hooves_meta_derp_derpygate_google_graph_statistics_retard.png Ever since the term derp was created in 1998 it has meant a silly mistake or brain-fart. It's just during the recent years when anyone has started claiming it meant retard. It's pretty much a self-fulfilling prophecy at this point. How to ruin words 101.
  15. Where has anyone said that there were any parents involved in this? Have you seen a single claim that any of the complainers had any kids? How many parents do you know who use the term "ableism"?
  16. Here is a list of other "ableist" words, just to give you a bit of perspective what kind of lunacy we're dealing with. If they had their they wouldn't even be allowed to include the "are you crazy" scene in season 1. http://www.autistichoya.com/p/ableist-words-and-terms-to-avoid.html and let's not forget the obvious. Derpy wasn't offensive to handicapped people at all. http://derpiboo.ru/55991 Infact, it would appear that most people who are cross eyed or have other disabilities are pretty upset that some people spoke for them. It is infuriating when some people claim people with eye defects (like me) should be offended by her. Yeah no, thanks for getting the only cross eyed cartoon character ever removed from TV, you hateful monsters.
